//------------------------------// // Chapter Fourteen: The Origin of Magic and The foal of The Origin // Story: Twilight's First Foals -- Episode I - The Hybrid Changelings // by One Universe One story //------------------------------// “I will be able to heal her but I need some things from my hut,” Zecora said in a frantic panic. “Sure thing what do you need?” Twilight asked almost in the same tone. “‘Caos Water’, ‘Hydra’ jerky, ‘Poison Joke’ petals, sea salt, ‘Seapony Tears’, cinnamon, an ‘Eye of the Arachnid’, ‘The Red of a Rainbow’, my ‘Power Gem’ collection, and my cauldron,” Zecora said getting straight to the point. “M.I.L.I.S., teleport Zecora back to her hut so she can get what she needs,” Twilight said after she held her right forehoof up sideways so her Cross-Com. would activate. “Yes, Director,” M.I.L.I.S. responded before Zecora was teleported. “Twilight!” a voice like Celestia’s called from behind her. Twilight turned around to see four guard captains and the two celestial sisters standing behind her. She quickly made a short bow and then resumed what she was doing: Making sure Chrysalis stayed alive. “Twilight, what happened to your guest to make her end up here?” Luna asked with great concern. “An experiment went wrong, she ended up getting electrocuted and passed out after I totaled a very expensive machina,” Twilight said as she lost her place on Chrysalis’ E.K.G. “Twilight the reason we have come to see you is because we believe the Changelings are about to start a revolution,” Celestia said with great worry to her words. “What was your first clue?” Twilight asked as she pointed to Chrysalis and then began to explain the puncture in her shell’s side. “Attacked by her eldest child?!?” Luna said in exclaim. “It would seem so,” Twilight said as she lowered her head. “Twilight, the potion is ready, bring me back,” Zecora said over Twilight’s Cross-Com. “M.I.L.I.S., you know what to do,”Twilight said before Zecora appeared in the hospital room. “If we can get her to drink this, I know she will live,” Zecora said before attempting to get Chrysalis to drink it having little, but manageable, success. “Twilight, come with us to a place that we have let nopony besides these four guard captains know about,” Celestia said as she turned to exit the room. “But I need to stay here and make sure Chrysalis is alright,” Twilight said as she stayed right where she was. “Twilight, go. Chrysalis will live,” Zecora said before Twilight looked at the E.K.G.to see that CHrysalis condition was rapidly improving. “Oh, alright,” she said before leaving with the two sisters. When the got outside th climbed into a flying chariot and were off to Celestia’s aforementioned location. “So, where exactly are we going?” Twilight asked. “To the Hall of The Origin of Magic. There we will see if you can do something we have failed to do,” Luna said as she lowered her head. “Luna, do not worry, I believe had we tried it before our fight with Sombra we may have been able to do it,” Celestia said as she nuzzled her sister. “Tia, we did not know of this place until just before I became Nightmare Moon,” Luna said as she closed her eyes and remembered what destruction and devastation she brought when she was not herself. “Princess Celestia the weather is not as predicted,” a guard captain said before thunder sounded around them. “We cannot turn back, this is too important,” Celestia said before noticing Luna’s horn was glowing. “Luna, your memories of your past are hindering our progress. Focus on what is goping on now and not what was going on then.” Luna opened her eyes and the foul weather stopped. She began to cry and Celestia nuzzled her again trying to soothe her. “Luna, calm down, It’s alright. Nightmare Moon is gone and can no longer harm anypony,” Celestia said as she wrapped her wing around Luna. Luna soon ceased crying and fell asleep. “She still has not forgiven herself for the destruction and pain she has caused so many,” Celestia said as she closed her eyes. “But in time she will.” *** *** *** “Princess Celestia, we’re here,” a guard captain called out. Celestia opened her eyes to see they were at a temple surrounded by snow. She then awoke Luna and Twilight, who appeared to have fallen asleep a while after Celestia did. “We must go inside. Guards, watch the area,” Celestia said before the three princesses walked in and the guards took positions around the entrance. “Tell us, Twilight, have you ever heard of The Legend of The Origin of Magic?” Luna asked as the walked through a narrow hallway. “No, I haven’t,” She replied. “Legend says that The Origin of Magic was a girl of lavender skin who wore a crown of a pink six point star. Many millennia ago she appeared out of a statue which led to a world of magic. She had with her a dog that could speak like the rest of our kind. She was our world to retrieve her crown which had been stolen by one of our world. “In order to get her crown back she had to earn the friendship of five rivals. On the second and last day of her appearances she was able to manifest magic not through her crown but by the friendship she had built between the rivals and herself, thus defeating a she-demon which had stolen her crown to make herself more powerful. “Twilight, that girl was you,”Celestia said. “Impossible, I’ve never traveled that far into the past,” Twilight said. “Wrong Twilight,” Luna said as they rounded a corner. “Twilight, do you remember when you had to get your crown back from Sunset Shimmer?”Celestia asked. :”Yes, but-” “That mirror is not a dimensional portal,”Celestia said before she paused her speech. “If it’s not dimensional then…” Twilight thought aloud. “Yes, it’s a time portal,” Luna said before they came to a stop in front of an alter. “By the way I hope you can forgive me for thinking you would wreck the Fall Formal setup. I should have know it would have been Sunset if someone challenged her for the crown.” “How do you…?” Twilight wondered aloud before getting a well earned reply. “Twilight, we are much, much older than we look,” Celestia said before she pointed to an object that resembled a dragon egg on the alter. “Twilight, you are The Origin of Magic, and you are the only one able to hatch that egg.” “It can’t be true! It’s not possible!” Twilight exclaimed as she gripped her head in confusion. “Twilight, we know what went on on the other side of the mirror before you even came back, before you were even born.” Celestia started. “Please just try, for Equestria, for your friends both then and now…” “... … … ...Alright I’ll try,” She said before walking up to the top of the altar and attempting the Hatching Spell she was taught at Celestia’s School. It was several minutes before anything happened but eventually the egg hatched revealing a pony-like creature. The creature had a Creame coloured hide, a horn with Crimson lines on it, wings with Black tips and Crimson inner feathers. It’s mane and tail style was that of the well known Vinyl Scratch but the colours were Crimson and Black. And lastly it’s eyes were of faded colours, the left was black and the right was Crimson. Soon after the egg hatched a door in the back wall opened up revealing a stone chest. Twilight picked up the small pony-like creature with her magic and walked over to the chest. She then opened the chest to find eight leg rings, a custom tailored Black, Creame, and Crimson ‘Mane-iac’ outfit, a Black helmet and a Black collar with a single Crimson gem embedded in it. “A foal born of magic?” Celestia wondered aloud. “Twilight, I advise you take care of this creature at your castle. It may be the key to defeating the Changelings again.” “What am I going to do with it? It’s not mine technically,” Twilight said as she walked down the altar with the chest and foal in her grip of magic. “Twilight, do you remember what I told you about hatching creatures?” Celestia asked as they began to walk out of the temple. “If I hatch a creature I have to take care of it, at least until it can care for itself,”: Twilight said as she hung her head in discomfort. “I know it’s not always easy to care for creatures you don’t know what are, but you must care for this one as if it were your own child,” Celestia said as they rounded a corner. “Yes, Princess Celestia,” Twilight groaned. “Twilight, look at it this way, It’s a good excuse for you and Flash Sentry to get married.” “Twilight froze at Luna’s words and dropped the foal and the chest. Celestia and :Luna barely caught them before they hit the ground. “Twilight!” they said simultaneously. “S-sorry,” Twilight said before taking the foal and chest in her grip again. “You may want to keep the foal warm when we go outside,” Celestia said before opening the door to the temple. Twilight held the foal under her wing and they ran to the chariot. “Guards, get us out of here quickly,” Celestia said before the guards hitched up to the chariot and they took off for Twilight’s castle.
