//------------------------------// // Chapter 1: Dawn of the First Day // Story: The Legend of Zelda: The Hylian Wondercolt // by Golden Flare //------------------------------// Before you went to school, your mom taught you how to play her great grandmother's lullaby and your dad taught you your grandfather's best friend's song; Zelda's Lullaby and Saria's Song. On your way to CHS, you meet up with Sunset. "Hey!" she greeted, "What's up?" "I learned a couple new songs from my parents." "Really? Well, let's wait till lunch, I'm sure the girls want to hear it too." You nod in agreement and continue to school with Sunset. After arriving, everyone stops what they're doing and stares at you and Sunset. "Got a problem?" you call out. They all instantly turn away. "Didn't think so." The two of you continue into the school and head off to your first class, which apparently you shared with Sunset, Rainbow, and Pinkie. After the lunch bell rang, you and your new friends enter the cafeteria, grab your food, and sit at the nearest table. "So," Rarity says your name, "Sunset says you learned two new songs on your ocarina." "What's an 'ock-ka-rina'?" Rainbow asks. "I'll show you." you say as you pull out your Fairy Ocarina. You put your mouth on it, your fingers on the holes, and began playing Saria's Song, then Zelda's Lullaby. The girls were quiet after you finished playing. "So...what do you think?" "Eh, it was aight." Rainbow said. "What are you saying, Rainbow Dash? That was amazing. Do you have any idea how hard it is to play the ocarina?" Fluttershy asked. "Well, my dad said I was a natural when I first played one, said it was in the genes." you add. "Huh?" the girls chimed. "On my grandfather's travels when he was near my age, he got this very ocarina from a very close friend of his, and learned many a song in his day. My dad said some music he played carried a special kind of magic within it." "Magic?" Sunset inquired. "Oh, yeah, apparently there's magic where I come from, didn't you all know that?" "No. What kind of magic?" "Light magic, dark magic, fire magic, ice magic, wind magic, barrier magic, stuff like that." "Does your dad have magic?" "Yeah...but, he uses it through items he held on to from our ancestors or the ones he got from his own travels, and he keeps it all locked up in his trunk in the basement." "Is your...ocarina magic?" "To some degree. My dad said it was from the Kokiri Forest, that any and all plant life was creating by one of the three goddesses, Farore, and that my ocarina has a special magic from that forest with all the Kokiri children." "Goddesses? Kokiri children?" "How about I ask a better question," Rainbow interrupted, "why do you have pointy ears like an elf?" Before you could be questioned any further, the bell rang for the next class, everyone proceeded to pick up their trays, throw away their trash, and move on to the next class, especially you and your new friends. Once the final bell rung out, you left the school and waited for your parents to pick you up. You were approached by the girls as your mom and dad came up on the family horse. "Excuse me, Your Highness?" Sunset asked. "Yes?" your mom, Zelda, replied. "Would it be alright if your son could...I don't know, join us at a slumber party at a friend's house?" Zelda looked at her, then at you and smiled, "I'm glad to see you're making friends, my son. It seemed we have raised you well." that made you smile as well, you always loved your mom's praise, "Go on and have fun, and we'll see you tomorrow." With that, they rode off back to the house, leaving you and your new friends behind. Pinkie snuck up behind you and trapped you in a bone-crushing hug. "YAAAAAY! SLUMBER PARTY AT MY HOUSE!" she declared as the girls looked excited.
