"That's a nice name, I'm Sunset Shimmer." the girl says, "Well, let's get on with the tour!"

The two of you went around the school while Sunset named off all the classrooms as you passed by them. You came up to a poster and chose to ask Sunset about it.

"Oh! The school's having a musical showcase in the next few days, maybe you could enter if you want. Do you have an instrument?"

You remember a family heirloom that was given to your ancestor from a friend of his, your dad passed that heirloom down to you for your birthday two years ago. You pull it out of your pocket and show it to Sunset.





"What's that?"

"It's an ocarina." you answer.

"An ocarina? That's an interesting choice of instrument."

You tell her it was a family heirloom and a birthday gift from your dad.

"Really? Well that was nice of him."

You nod.

Suddenly, a loud bell rings and people start pouring out of the classrooms.

"Oh, no..." she moaned, "I was hoping we would get this done before the lunch bell."

"Why?" you ask.

Then, you began to hear whispers, harsh whispers, quietly spouting crude names or cruel profanities. But they weren't directed at you, no, they were directed at Sunset, who was becoming uncomfortable by them. With newfound courage, you decide to stand up for your friend.

"Hey!" you shout, "Why don't you all pick on someone your own size?!"

Murmurs fill the halls, curious about why someone would protect Sunset Shimmer. You take this advantage and grab Sunset by the hand and run away from the crowd, heading for the cafeteria, which she had shown you earlier. You both went in and sat down, catching your breath from running.

"You...okay?" you pant.

"Yeah...I'm fine." she pants back.

Soon, the two of you regain your lost air and just sit in uncomfortable silence.

"...Why?" Sunset asks.

"Huh?" you ask back.

"Why did you help me?"

"...Because you're my friend."

Sunset gasps in surprise, "Really?"

"Of course!" you give her a big smile, "I haven't seen a bad bone in your body since we met!"

"But I was a bully in the past..."

"Who cares? That was then, this is now, and my parents taught me when something bad happens, you just let go of the past and forgive yourself."

Sunset stared at you, wide-eyed at your words; never had she thought of forgiving herself for her actions before and during the Fall Formal, she always believed she was unforgivable, but here this new guy is, telling her that it's possible to forgive and forget her terrible deeds as if it wasn't a problem.

"Thank you." Sunset says.

You smile, "You're welcome."

Just then, people started entering the cafeteria, along with five girls that came your way, making you tense up and gear yourself up for a fight.

"It's okay," Sunset whispers in your ear, "they're my friends."

You lessen your tension and relax yourself.

"Sunset, darling!" the white skinned, purple haired one one called.

"Hey Rarity." Sunset greets.

"We heard what happened," the yellow skinned, pink haired one said, "are you okay?"

"Do I need to kick some butt?" the sky blue skinned, rainbow haired one said.

"Yes, Fluttershy, I'm fine, and no, Rainbow Dash, you don't. I'm okay now, thanks to him." Sunset pointed a thumb at you.

"Who's this feller?" the country looking girl asked.

You introduced yourself, and told them your parents were talking to the principals.

"Ooh! Are you the new guy that came from the land of Hyrule?" the pink one asked.

"Hyrule?" Rarity inquired, "But that must mean...you're the prince!" she curtsies and bows her head, "I am honored to be in your presence, Your Highness."

"Please don't do that."

Rarity looked up at you, surprised at your response.

You look to the side, "I'd rather not be treated like royalty while I'm here."

"But why?"

"I just...want to be a regular kid, that's all."

"Well then, how bout we introduce ourselves? Ah'm Applejack," she pointed to the pink one, "that's Pinkie Pie," Pinkie waves at you vigorously with a huge smile, "and you've already met Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, and Sunset Shimmer."

"Nice to meet you all."

The doors of the cafeteria open to reveal the principals and your parents.

"It's the princess and the Hero of Time!" one of the students call out.

With that, the entire student body bows down to your family, except for you.

"What's he doing?!"

"Doesn't he know he's disrespecting royalty?!"

"Come on, son, it's time to go."

"Okay, dad!" you said.

You jump up and walk to your family, ignoring the collective shouts, "DAD?!" and continue on your way. After reaching the Main Foyer, you were given a map of the school and your class schedule for your education at Canterlot High.

"We'll see you tomorrow," Celestia said your name.

"Okay, see you then." you said.

You and your family left and mounted Epona, with a neigh, she rode off with you all back to your temporary place of residence.
