Chapter 6

Vinyl looked up to see Dr. Hooves standing there and looking down at her lying on the floor. Just before he said anything Vinyl had a flashback but only for a second. It was about her father and an old best friend she had known. But before she got sucked into it Dr. Hooves grabbed her and asked if she was alright.

“Ms Scratch! Ms Scratch, are you alright? Do you need something to drink?” He asked her trying to get her to calm down.

“Oh my goodness, is she alright?” Vinyl heard the familiar voice and started to calm down a bit.

“Octavia, thank goodness.....” Vinyl said as her voice faded. Vinyl passed out from worrying too much about Octavia.

“Interesting,” mumbled Dr. Hooves to himself. Octavia walked a little closer to her now unconscious friend.

“Will she be alright Dr.?” Octavia asked Dr. Hooves. He gave her a reassuring smile.

“She will be fine, but for now just get me a cup of water and some ice, she’s burning up.” Dr. Hooves requested, trying not to worry Octavia. Octavia went to go get her friend some water and an ice pack. When Octavia returned with the water and the ice she watched Dr. Hooves pick up Vinyl and place her on Octavia’s hospital bed. Octavia felt scared and worried for her best friend.

“What’s wrong with her? Is she going to be fine, Dr. Hooves?” Octavia hoping that Vinyl wouldn’t end up in there as well.

“She will be fine, she's just over stressed.” Dr. Hooves told Octavia. Octavia felt a little better and as minutes flew by Vinyl slowly started to wake up.

“Good morning, sleepy head.” Octavia greeted Vinyl like she had before. Vinyl couldn't help but give Octavia a smile.

“Ah well Ms Scratch you’re awake, I’m pleased to see that you are no longer stressed out.” Dr. Hooves told Vinyl as Vinyl tried to get up.

“Ah, ah, ah, ah, please Ms Scratch don't move just yet, first drink this.” Dr. Hooves handed Vinyl some blue looking medicine that looked like water that came from the dark depths of the sea. It had a funny smell to it since it was medicine. Vinyl didn't seem to care that it smelt kinda funny but she still drank it.

“Ughh, oh my gosh that was very....nasty.....uhhh....” Vinyl said as she involuntarily tried to bring what she had just taken back up. As Vinyl held her mouth shut Octavia took the water that was sitting on the table side of the bed and handed it to her. As Vinyl drank the water, Dr. Hooves waited till Vinyl was done to tell her something important.

“Alright, Miss Scratch, now I know how you've been under so much stress lately so I'm going to ease some of it. Octavia would you like to tell your friend the good news?” Dr. Hooves asked Octavia while giving Vinyl a smile. Vinyl was confused as to why Dr. Hooves was smiling at her.

“Well Vinyl I know you have been coming here to come see me and whatnot but I finally get to leave today!” Octavia told her friend with a gleeful look on her face. Vinyl still looked confused but it took her a while to finally process what Octavia had told her.

“Really? You mean she's not going to die, or be stuck in here forever!?” Vinyl jumped for joy and yelled and cheered. Vinyl was giddy that her friend finally got to go home.

“You know what this calls for?” Vinyl asked Octavia with a huge grin on her face. Octavia was a little worried that Vinyl might collapse again so she tried to get her to calm down a bit.

“Vinyl please calm down, I don't want to carry you home, and I'm a little worried on what you’re talking about.” Octavia told Vinyl as Octavia was trying to get Vinyl to stop jumping around. Vinyl stopped jumping and bouncing and finally told Octavia her idea.

“Slumber party!” Vinyl yelled almost at the top of her lungs. Octavia gave Vinyl a smile and they both headed out of the hospital. Dr. Hooves smiled and shook his head.

“Those fillies, this reminds me of...” Dr. Hooves just remembered that he forgot to give Octavia the medicine for her head. Dr. Hooves hurried down to the front to give Octavia her medicine.

“Just in time!” Dr. Hooves exclaimed, stopping Octavia and Vinyl in the lobby. Octavia briefly wondered why Dr. Hooves stopped them.

“Octavia, here's your medicine, I seem to have forgotten that you needed it.” Dr. Hooves laughed and scratched his head and then handed Octavia her medicine.

“Oh, well that would be very unfortunate now wouldn't it Dr. Hooves?” Octavia laughed at the comment that she made and so did Dr. Hooves.

“Take one if your head starts to hurt, and if the pain doesn’t stop or gets worse then please feel free to come down here.” Dr. Hooves told Octavia. Octavia gave him a smile and Vinyl and Octavia were on their way back home, when suddenly Octavia saw the two bullies standing outside the hospital.

Vinyl was ready to protect Octavia with her life. They both walked out the door and as soon as they did the two bullies saw them and started walking toward them. As they got closer and closer Octavia felt her heart drop, but the weirdest thing happened they weren’t alone. It looked like the bullies were walking up with two other ponies that were bigger than them.

“Could it be that those are their parents?” Vinyl asked Octavia, hoping that they were. They drew closer and closer until one of the bigger ponies stopped right in front of Octavia. She looked almost like one of the bullies but just a bit lighter.

“Are you Octavia?” she asked Octavia almost sounding like she was angry and getting ready to finish the job for the bullies. Octavia shook her head yes. The pony grabbed Octavia and gave her a hug.

“Oh thank goodness you’re alright deary, oh I thought that my little Lyra beat you into nothing!” She told Octavia who was still a little scared.

“My little Lyra is very sorry, aren't you ya little brat!” She told Lyra and put Octavia down, Lyra's mom turned to her daughter, bit her on the ear and pulled her in front of Octavia.

“Ow, ow, ow, mom that hurts!” Lyra cried out in pain. Octavia felt kinda sorry for her, but then again she did beat her up so it felt satisfying to watch Lyra get punished.

“Say you’re sorry or I swear when we get home you’re grounded and I'm going to beat you.” Lyra's mother told Lyra with a very angry look on her face to show that she was not kidding.

“Alright, alright, Octavia I'm...sorry...” Lyra mumbled. Her mother smacked her hard on her head.

“Say it louder!” Lyra's mother yelled and stood over and was about to hit Lyra again.

“Okay, Okay...Octavia I am sorry for beating you up and putting you through so much.” Lyra exclaimed and kicked her hooves at the dirt trying to avoid eye contact with Octavia. As Lyra's mother pulled her way from Octavia the other parent went up to Vinyl.

“You there, you’re Vinyl, correct?” The other parent of the cream coloured filly asked Vinyl. Vinyl could see the filly behind her mother. As Vinyl looked at her, she saw worry in her eyes mixed with sadness. Vinyl almost forgot that she was asked a question she shook her head to make it seem like she was paying attention.

“Bon Bon, now please apologize to this little filly and let us go home.” Bon Bon's mother told her and with no hesitation Bon Bon looked at Vinyl and drew closer to her. Then as Vinyl was waiting for her to apologize Bon Bon grabbed Vinyl and gave her a big hug.

“I'm so very sorry, I didn't mean to act so cruel toward you and make you watch your friend get hurt! I feel just awful that I could do something so evil, I truly am sorry please forgive me!” Bon Bon cried out. Even though Vinyl was being held by a very uptight filly she patted her on her back and let her know that she forgave her. When that was all said and done Octavia couldn't help but smile for what had happened.

“Maybe it is true,” Octavia said to herself smiling at the thought that they may have just changed the bullies into new friends, but she didn't really want to think about it right then.

“Hmm what was that Octavia?” Vinyl asked her looking at her with a raised eyebrow. Octavia just smiled, all she wanted to do was get home and have a sleepover with her best friend.

When Vinyl and Octavia arrived at Octavia's house Vinyl quickly ran to grab her sleeping bag from her house. Everything seemed like it was going to be perfect but Octavia wanted to know why Vinyl passed out she knew that it was not just stress she could tell. Being alone with nobody to talk to and sadness everyday of almost from morning till night wasn’t something she would wish upon anypony. Octavia had hated being alive, at that time the only thing that kept her going was her music and her cello. But that was all in the past, now she just wanted to poke inside Vinyl's head. As Vinyl rang Octavia's doorbell and she quickly snapped out of her trance and ran to open the door for Vinyl.

“Let’s get this party started!” Vinyl yelled and ran inside and dropped her stuff on the living room floor. Octavia rolled her eyes and smiled as she closed the door behind her.
