The Hero They Need

"Thank you for coming to me with this information, Nightwing." Doctor Fate said. The sorceror was a man wearing a yellow armored helmet that covered his entire head and a blue robe. Following Batman's instructions, Nightwing tracked down the man for help.

"What are you going to do?" Nightwing asked.

Doctor Fate levitated from his spot, pulling out a scroll. "What Batman and Ra's supposedly got teleported with is an ancient artifact. Something I haven't seen in years. They are called Warp Crystals. A single once can hold infinite power and can even travel through different dimensions." he explained, showing the blue costumed man a picture of what it looked like.

"Batman must've overloaded the machine Ra's was using and created a temporal imbalance. The crystal could have sent them anywhere across the vast dimensions and universes." Fate added, pulling out another scroll to elaborate.

"Alright. Makes sense, but how are you going to find him?" Nightwing wondered.

"Simple. Through all my years of using my powers, I've seen many dimensions and artifacts. I have a record of every known dimension across the multiverse. I can search for Batman within each of these worlds until I find him." he explained, pulling out a book the size of an encyclopedia and placed it on a table.

"Thank you, Doctor Fate."

"In the meantime, head back to Gotham. I will tell you once I find him through a psychic link." Fate said, opening the giant book right in front of him.

Nightwing nodded and walked out of the tower. 'Hopefully you're fine, Bruce. We can't cover for you for too long without something going wrong.'

A guard pony walked into Princess Celestia's chamber where she was speaking with Princess Luna. "PRINCESSES!" he shouted to get their attention.

Celestia stopped her speaking to face the pony, "You may speak, officer." she ordered.

The guard sighed, "We were out on patrol yesterday... When suddenly a strange batlike creature attacked us! We tried be civil but he left us no choice but to take measures! The other officers are still recovering from what he did."

"What did the figure look like?" Luna asked.

"It was... Bipedal. Clad in black. Almost batlike in appearance. It was so terrifying." the guard panted.

Celestia and Luna nodded, "You may leave now, officer." with a salute, the guard walked out of the throne room to allow the princesses to discuss the situation.

"What shall we do, sister?" Luna asked, "Surely, this bat creature couldn't have gotten far."

"I should send a letter to Twilight and her friends to warn them of this creature and see if they can help. Once I do that, I'm putting a bounty on him to make sure he doesn't hurt our subjects." Celestia explained to her sister.

"Very well. If this bat is as strong as they say he is, Thou will be attending to my night guards to prepare them in case they ever run into this... Bat pony,

Celestia used her horn to write on a scroll, "And I will make sure my guards are up to the task of stopping him." once she finished writing, the scroll vanished, now sent to Twilight.

Batman remained crouching inside the car, 'No one should be able to find me in here with all of the luggage. It's too crowded in here to move, but in about two stops is where I get off so I should free myself a little.' he shuffled in his spot slowly to not make too much noise in case someone were to hear him.

'Once I get off, I have to continue finding Ra's no matter what.' he thought. He had been in this train for a while, patiently awaiting to arrive at his destination nearby Ponyville. 'But I can't get off when the train stops. I'm going to have to leave a little sooner.'

The Dark Knight felt the train pause, 'One more to go...' he counted. His brain keeping track of his location. 'Once I find one, I'm downloading a map of this place into my cowl for further research. That would give me something over Ra's.'

Moving up to his feet, Batman forced the window open, 'Alright. Let's go.' and he hopped out of the window and landed on the grass beyond the tracks and watched the train pass by. The Dark Knight used his night vision cowl to keep track of his surroundings.

'Almost to Ponyville. I have to be careful... They're probably after me for what I did in Canterlot.' Batman thought, starting his walk into the new forest.

The vigilante noticed that unlike that unlike the other area near Canterlot, this felt a little more... Wild. He decided to keep a mental note on that in case more creatures like the manticore would try to eat or kill him, 'Try to anyway...' he mused. A thin smile on his face at the thought in his head.

Kneeling down, Batman placed a hand in the water and cupped the water in his hand, 'Finally. Some clean water...' he wiped his mouth dry. 'If I'm going to be stuck here, then I need a place of refuge in case the weather changes.'

Finishing his cleaning, Batman continued on, searching for a temporary new home until he got back to Gotham. He made his way deeper into the forest and zoomed his lenses to get a closer look at what he was seeing.

"A cave..." he muttered.

The Dark Knight used his Detective Vision to search for any life in there, 'Hm... I can see some signs of life in there, but I'm not getting any sort of heartbeat or vitals... I should be careful for this one.' he pulled out his utility belt and knelt down. 'But first let's see what I have left with me in this dimension.'

'Let's see... I have plenty of batarangs to spare. My grapnel gun... The batclaw... My cryptographic sequencer which I could use as a makeshift batcomputer for analysis... Smoke pellets.... Remote controlled batarang... Remote Electrical Charger.... Explosivd Gel... And that's it. That should be enough for me to survive.'

Batman stood back up and strapped the utility belt back around his waist and started his walk toward the occupied cave to see what was inside of it.

"Uh, Twilight?" Spike said and got the alicorn's attention easily this time without any games.

Twilight stopped her reading, and stood up, using her magic to close the book, "Yes, Spike?" she wondered.

The young drake held out a scroll, "Princess Celestia sent me a letter. I think you should read it." after saying that, the lavender pony used her horn to grab the scroll and opened it. Her eyes reading the letter from top to bottom.

"Spike. We gotta get the girls."

"Why?"

"A strange creature was seen in Canterlot."

After getting everypony together, Twilight's friends all gathered around in her throne room and sat on their chairs. "So, what's the big deal about this bat dude?" Rainbow Dash questioned, not at all worried about his appearance.

"He's dangerous! He attacked Celestia's guards for no reason!" Rarity chided the rainbow-maned pegasus.

"H-He sounds... Really creepy... What do we do if we find him?" Fluttershy quietly said, getting her opinion on the situation.

"Well, I say we rough 'em up a bit and tell him what happens if he were to threaten another pony again." Applejack answered, slamming her hoof on her chair.

"Yeah! That meanie is... well very mean!" Pinkie Pie shouted, not having the right words to say on the subject.

"Girls! Calm down!" Twilight scolded, "I say we go look for him tomorrow night. If he showed up here yesterday, then that would give him time to make his way over here. Once we catch him, then we let the Princesses figure out what to do."

Rainbow Dash sighed, "Oh, alright. But I get to be the one that smacks him first, right?" she asked, smashing her hooves together.

Her friends rolled their eyes at the comment, "Sure..." Applejack slowly answered with a smile.
