//------------------------------// // Fighting Their Battles // Story: Ponies in a Half-Shell // by MetalJrock //------------------------------// Donatello flipped, jumping off a rooftop ambushed by Foot Robots surrounding him. The genius landed on one knee and looked up, watching the remaining robots leap right for him. He pulled out his staff and held it backwards, ready to strike once they're close enough. But, before the ninja robots could attack, they were suddenly bombarded by a blast of confetti. Donnie looked to his left and saw Pinkie Pie holding a large cannon. "Pinkie? What the shell are you doing here!?" he questioned the pink pony's sanity in coming back to the battle. "I thought these meanies could use some confetti." the party pony answered sinisterly with a smirk. The ninjas got up, slightly damage from the force of the blast. Donnie noticed this and used the blade on his staff to slice off the heads, watching as the bodies explode upon contact with his weapon. The genius noticed that the ponies could handle themselves and chose not to argue their involvement for now. "Thanks for the help." he said, Pinkie giving a salute right after. Shredder hissed in pain, looking at a bruise on the uncovered part of his arm due to Michaelangelo using his nunchucks to tightly hold his limb back. He really tightened his grip. Splinter used this to his advantage, attempting strike at any area that the Shredder left uncovered. Using his time wisely, Hamato Yoshi stuck out two fingers and struck hard at the sore areas. "It's over, Oroku Saki. Leave, or I will have no choice but to end you for good." Splinter warned. The Shredder laughed. "As if you could do so, Yoshi. You always were weak." "Your hatred clouds your judgement," Splinter spoke. He leaned to avoid a swipe from the Shredder, who growled as he continued to attack the ninja master. "Just give up. We will find a way back to our world. This is not the way to do so." "As if you know the way, Hamato Yoshi." Shredder hissed, grabbing Splinter by the throat once again. As he raised his hand, Shredder was blasted by a strange purple projectile. When the elder rat turned around, he saw Twilight, her horn glowing the same purple aura that hit the Shredder. Splinter bowed in respect. "I must thank you, Twilight. But why are you here?" The alicorn looked at the master. "Because we can't leave you to fight this. This is our home, and we're gonna help protect it." "Very well," Splinter nodded. "Let's find my sons." Shredder staggered onto his feet and ran to the rat and pony. On a rooftop, Applejack stood waiting for the right time. Once she saw Shredder pass her, the earth pony leaped into the air, forcing her hooves down on the ninja's back. The Shredder hissed in pain, feeling the hooves land on him. "Are ya all right?" Applejack asked the two. Splinter nodded. "Thank you, Applejack. I am surprised you managed a hit on Saki like that." Applejack kicked the air. "I've been buckin' trees for years, Splinter. Mah hooves can handle the force." Shredder took this moment to make a hasty retreat, realizing that his soldiers' numbers were dwindling. Leonardo panted, the Foot bots getting the better of him. He moved his hand backwards, slicing another robot in two. In a split-second, he managed to block a strike delivered by another robot with his blades. Pushing them, he found an opening and stabbed it through again. Unknown to him, two robots were behind him, already drawing their swords. They dealt their hands back, ready for the killing blow, but something knocked the weapons out of their grips. A rainbow blur struck the robots once more, removing their heads in the process. Rainbow Dash hovered above the exhausted Leonardo, who smiled. Meanwhile, Michaelangelo, and Raphael went to check on Splinter. "Ya alright, Sensei?" Raph asked. He saw Twilight standing with him. "What the shell are ya still doin' here?" he questioned loudly. "No time. We must give chase to Shredder now." the rat ordered. The turtles nodded and ran off to warn their brothers. Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael and Michaelangelo regrouped with the ponies. "Okay, girls. We thank you for helping, but unfortunately, Bucket Breath's getting away." the two had tried to chase Shredder, but he sent back-up to hold them off until he was out of sight. Leonardo saw this ruse and chased anyway. "That's it!" Leonardo snarled, jumping into the air and drawing his swords down on Shredder. The ninja master turned around and blocked the strike right on time. Shredder growled, holding back Leo's katanas from slicing his armor. "You have made a foolish decision, Leonardo." Shredder warned him in his usual deep voice. "The only fool I see is you, Shredder!" Leo moved his swords to the left, causing Shredder to mirror the leader's actions. "I don't have time to play around anymore, Leonardo. Next time we meet, it will be your end." Shredder stopped the collision and threw a smoke bomb, causing Leonardo to cough. By the time he opened his eyes, Shredder was already gone. Leonardo returned to Ponyville to see that all the Foot soldiers everyone else was fighting vanished as well, "I got bad news, guys. Shredder got away." he looked down upon the broken parts of the robots they all destroyed together. Raph groaned. "Of course he did. And he brought what was left of his minions with him too. That means we're gonna be here longer." he groaned, not wanting to waste anymore time in this dimension. "Yes!" Mikey cheered. "Now how about we clean up and throw ourselves a sick party!?" "You're speaking my language." Pinkie replied with a large smile on her face. Shredder held his side, gasping from exhaustion. "Cursed turtles. Those ponies are tougher than I originally believed..." he panted, tired from running. Saki noticed that he was deep in a large forest, hardly able to see the sky due to the large amount of trees, the only thing he could see was the setting sun. "They may present a problem to me and my plan after all... That must be rectified..." 'Well, well, well...' a voice laughed. Shredder turned his head, attempting to spot the source of the noise. When he was unable to, he leaned on a tree, watching as his remaining Foot robots arrived at his location. "Show yourself!" the ninja ordered. 'I can't reveal myself just yet, but I must say that was a commendable performance," the voice complimented. 'It seems we share a common enemy. The ponies.' Shredder clenched his gloved fists. "Yes... As much as I hate to admit it, those six ponies will most likely be a thorn on my side like Hamato Yoshi's mutant children." 'I see... You crossed paths with the Elements of Harmony. They're the so-called protectors of Equestria. They found me once, but I was foiled by their dragon friend. But I have come back, and I will have my revenge.' "You... Who are you and why are you speaking to me?" Oroku Saki questioned. The voice laughed once more. 'You may call me King Sombra, and I have a proposition for you. I have been watching you and the turtles since you all arrived. I can help you find a Warp Crystal to return home, without worrying about the turtles following you.' The Shredder knelt on the ground, watching a black ball covered in a shadowy aura fly around him, Sombra's being as it were. "Very well. On one very simple condition. I kill Hamato Yoshi and his sons myself." the ninja demanded. 'Ah, Shredder. Of course I can grant you that much. It's the least I can do for my partner. I know where you can find a crystal. You just have to follow me.' At Sugarcube Corner, Pinkie held a party celebrating the turtles' first public appearance and them saving Ponyville from Shredder and his Foot Clan. Many ponies had questions for them, the standard ones anyway, but one of them kept bugging them with the same subject and was currently talking to Raphael, much to his annoyance and trying his best to get her off of his case and enjoy himself in peace until the party was over.. "Are you connected to humans?" Lyra asked Raph. The turtle groaned. "I told ya a dozen times already, we're MUTANTS! Not humans!" he rubbed his temple. "We should'a brought April an' Casey..." he sighed. 'They could'a dealt with her instead.' Meanwhile, Michaelangelo was conversing with some ponies, showing off his acrobatic ninja skills as expected with Rainbow Dash as well. Splinter and Donatello took charge in explaining their origins and their world, well the parts that should be told anyway. Some parts were not meant to be heard for innocent beings such as the ponies. Leonardo sighed, holding a cup of punch. With a satisfied smile on his face, he sipped his drink, savoring the taste of something that's not water. Twilight looked at the leading turtle and trotted to him. "Hey, Leo. Are you okay?" Leo nodded. "Yeah, I'm actually fine," he told the alicorn. "I'm just tired. Our battle against Shredder would've been hopeless without your help. I guess we didn't have to teach ya, did we?" he wondered, referring to his offering to train the six ponies. Applejack overheard the conversation, and went to them. She grabbed her own cup and drank it. "Are ya kiddin'? Knowing ponies like Shredder, he'll find some way to stop us," she said. "Ah mean, you're all ninjas, right?" "Yeah. But still, you held your own against the Foot soldiers unlike last time!" "We were admittedly holding back, I think Rainbow and I were unsure if they were organic and didn't want to overdo it." Twilight admitted. "We don't usually resort to violence." "That makes sense," Leo replied. "I guess we'll hold off on training until we get properly rested."
