Twilight's Diary

Chapter 2

It has come to my attention through further study that sociopathy isn’t something one is aware of having, instead denying it. To think you have it rules out the possibility that you do. Searching for an alternative self-diagnoses, I have found an alternative that doesn’t involve Yak Flu. Though I have been exposed recently, so that may not be too off base. It’s called asperger's syndrome. Compared as “social dyslexia” the symptoms closely align with my behaviours. I don’t understand ponies and watch them all the time, studying books to make sure I respond properly to social cues. My years of grooming have also helped. Moondancer likely has it too, but Sunset may very well be an actual sociopath. That’s not being too harsh is it? It’s always been my philosophy that ponies aren’t defined by their problems, but rather how they overcome them. I read that in a book once. If you ask me nicely, I’ll tell you which one.

Let’s see, now that we aren’t residing in gray-area morality justified by a mental illness, what is there to talk about? I’ve made some great advances recently in magical physics. My new Alicorn magic reserves are ten times that of my old self, and those were ten times that of a normal pony to begin with. Celestia and Luna never put much thought into it, as they were the only ones and studying a fringe group like that usually doesn’t yield any practical results. But I like everything quantified. I’ve been trying to perfect spells that were once thought out of reach, usually previously worked on by Starswirl. You’ll have to read my notes for that, but I think I’m close to the gender-changing spell, but I have no suitable volunteers. I’m not without ethics, but I don’t get why ponies are so scared. I mean, if it works that means I can change them back.

Of course, if it doesn’t… Perhaps I could try it on a species of plant that has discernible genders.
