Once Starlight, Celestia and her friends left the dining hall, Twilight realized she had to find out the truth. She glared at Trixie and asked, "Trixie, I want to know something. Starlight and Celestia mentioned something about you putting a mind control spell on me, is that true?"
Trixie hung her head low and replied, "Yes Twilight, I did."
Twilight asked, "Why? You knew I already loved you before you cast that spell on me."
Trixie began to cry, "Because I wanted us to have a foal together and when I first talked to you about it, you said it would be wrong. I just wanted us to cement our love for one another."
Twilight sighed, "But that soon? Did you not trust me to stay true to you? Did you think that if you didn't have me under your control that I would throw you out?"
Trixie laid her head on the table and continued to sob, "Actually Twilight, yes, I was worried that if I didn't have you under my control that you would leave me. After all, Starlight left for Canterlot without even saying goodbye to me. She put her ambitions ahead of me and I didn't want to get hurt like that twice."
Twilight replied, "Trixie, I remember everything now. You were excited that Starlight was leaving. You were happy that it would just be us so please don't lie to me."
Trixie sighed, "Ok Twilight. I'll admit I was happy." She walked over to Twilight, hugged her and continued, "I guess I wanted us to have a foal together and be together forever so bad that I lost all rational thought. I'm so sorry Twilight, I do hope you can forgive me."
Twilight replied, "Well, I don't know Trixie. What you did to me was really bad, it is morally wrong, it is highly illegal...." Twilight began to cry, "But most of all it hurt my feelings. You didn't trust me enough to stay with you so you felt like you had to put a mind control spell on me."
Trixie began to cry, "Please forgive me Twilight. I do love you, I truly love you Twilight Sparkle." She buried her face in Twilight's mane and begged, "Please forgive me Twilight, I love you and want to be with you forever."
Twilight was watching her closely when she said this. She began to cry, "I love you too Trixie. I know what you did was wrong but I know that you won't do that to me again."
The two gazed into one another's eyes and began to kiss passionately. For the first time in months both mares felt true happiness. Once they broke the kiss Trixie asked, "Twilight, I know you are upset with everything that happened but I am wondering, can we still be marefriends?"
Twilight replied, "Well, I was kind of hoping that we could be more than just that."
Trixie gasped, "Do you mean?"
Twilight asked, "Trixie Lulamoon, while you have done bad things I will admit my love for you is strong. I am wondering if you would marry me!"
Trixie hugged her and squealed, "Yes Twilight, oh yes Twilight! I'll gladly marry you!"
The two began to kiss passionately again. Now that they knew that their destinies were each other, they felt like they were on top of the world and while they knew that nopony would approve of it, they weren't about to allow that to spoil this special moment. They truly realized their love for one another and were ready to cement it in matrimony.
An hour later they headed into the library. Twilight had her wing wrapped around Trixie and they both had smiles on their faces. When the others saw this, they all put their hooves over their faces in disgust. Twilight saw this and asked, "What's wrong everypony?"
Starlight asked, "Twilight, why do you have your wing around Trixie?"
Celestia added, "You do know that she will have to face charges for the crimes she has committed against you, don't......"
Twilight interrupted, "No, she won't because I do not wish to press charges against her and given that I am a princess, I would pardon her of everything anyway so don't waste your time with some kangaroo court trial."
While her friends, despite being disgusted by her decision, could understand where she was coming from. The same could not be said of the two princesses and Spike. Starlight sneered, "Oh and what are your plans now? Return to being marefriends? Twilight being willfully subservient to Trixie?"
Trixie joyfully replied, "We're going to get married!"
Everypony gasped, "What?"
Twilight replied, "You heard her, we're going to get married."
Applejack asked, "Are you sure about that sugar cube?"
Rarity added, "Come on darling, she controlled you for so long. You can do so much better."
Twilight sighed, "Look girls, could you just be happy for me? I don't expect any of you to support this but please at least respect my decision."
Celestia said, "Ok Twilight, we'll respect your decision. Given that this will be a royal wedding, it will be in Canterlot."
Starlight asked, "So are you going to want this to happen before or after the birth of your foal?"
Twilight replied, "I think it would be best if it happens before so our foal won't be born out of wedlock."
Celestia rolled her eyes in disgust, "So be it. We will get this set up as soon as possible. It likely won't be as grandiose as your brother and Cadence's was, but I will officiate it and make sure everything goes alright."
Twilight and Trixie cheered and began to kiss again. The princesses and her friends decided to just leave at that point. Twilight's friends just couldn't fathom how Twilight could still be so madly in love with Trixie, Celestia never imagined that the pony that was once her star student and had saved Equestria on multiple occasions would fall like this and Starlight, despite having had bad moments with her, never imagined that Twilight would fall for what she thought was Trixie's games. All that mattered to Twilight and Trixie though was that they had one another and that soon they would be married and have a royal foal.
