//------------------------------// // Day's 0 and 1 // Story: Luna's Visit // by NightDrops //------------------------------// Day-0-Thursday One day, on an island, a 15 year old boy, called Locke, was getting ready for school when his mum called him downstairs for breakfast. "Nearly done!" he called down. Then he packed the last of his pencils into his bag and ran downstairs. "I'm going to be working out of town for a few nights, so I'm trusting you to stay here and not get into trouble." His mum told him, as they were eating breakfast. Locke was confused. His mum had never let him stay on his own that long. The more he thought about it the more exited he got. Once he finished his breakfast and after a kiss from his mum Locke left for school. When he got back from school he didn't know what to do so he searched the pantry for dinner. After dinner he called over his friends for movie night. Once everyone was settled down they watched movies until They had to go home. He started playing Xbox because the next day was a public holiday. After a while Locke got tired and just before he went to bed he heard something that sounded like plane. Then a massive explosion from outside shook the house and he shouted in shock. When he looked outside he was almost blinded by a great fire in a crater. It was lucky his mum wasn't home because the car would have been destroyed. Locke went outside with a torch and realised he didn't need it because the fire was so bright. When he approached the crater the fire slowly went out and in its place was a creature (that looked like a horse. Then he realised it was smaller, (maybe a pony?) with blue fur and a mane and tail like the night sky. Yet the strangest thing was that it had a mark like a crescent moon on its flank, and a horn and wings! He called out "Hello? Can you hear me?". Then Locke realised that it looked like it was seriously hurt: it's front legs were twisted and looked sprained. He slowly climbed down the craters side and examined it more closely. He assumed it was female because of its feminine features. Locke saw that the damage was worse than he had first thought. She was pretty small so he scooped her up and carried her back to the house. When he got back in he put her on the sofa and got on the computer. He looked up how to look after a pony with a broken leg but all he got where suggestions to take her to the vet. Then he remembered the first aid kit under the bathroom sink. Locke grabbed it and ran back to the pony. She was bleeding quite a bit from large cuts to her side. He knew how to stitch up small wounds but never anything this big. Locke decided to give it a try. After a brief tutorial on the Internet and a few pinpricks he managed to stitch up all the major wounds. He then cleaned her up and put her in his bed. He went and got some pillows and a blanket from the spare room and put them on the sofa. It took a while but eventually he gave into his wariness and fell into a dark, dreamless sleep. Day-1-Friday The next morning Locke woke up and was just about to have breakfast when he remembered the pony from the night before. So he went upstairs too check on her. When he felt her forehead he found out she had a temperature so he went and got a cold cloth. Locke was wiping her forehead when she opened her eyes, he was so surprised he fell over. When he got up the pony was looking around wildly. She then tried to fly but her wings were still wounded. She looked at Locke with fear in her eyes then she scrambled to the corner of the room, wincing in pain because of her hurt legs. Locke tried to calm her down "Whoa, whoa, whoa! Calm down!" but she was having none of it. She lashed out at him screaming. So he had an idea, he went to the other side of the room, sat on the floor and waited for her to calm down. After about 5 minutes the pony calmed down enough to stutter some words, much to Locke's surprise. "Where am I? How did I get here?" When Locke managed to get over the surprise of an animal talking and gather his thoughts he replied "Uh... England. I don't know how you got here. You kind of crash landed outside." She studied him and asked "What are you?" " My name is Locke. I'm a human. What are you?" he asked, quite interested. The pony looked away and said "I'm a pony." So she WAS a pony. "What's your name?" Locke stood up and sat on a chair. She looked away and said "That's none of your business." "Come on I told you mine." Said Locke. The pony sighed "Okay, but first tell me what happened." Locke sighed and said "I was just about to go to bed when I heard an explosion from outside. I went outside to check and there was a crater with you lying at the bottom, unconscious. You were hurt so I took you inside and stitched you up." She looked at me in disbelief so he pointed at the window but she didn't move. He didn't expect her too. She then looked over her body, checking all of her cuts and scratches. She slowly sat up properly and asked "You healed me? How?" "Well I kind of patched up your bigger wounds but I didn't know how to fix your legs." said Locke. "I tried to make a splint but you kept fidgeting." The pony looked away. "Sorry about that." "It's okay." Locke replied. "Anyway... My name is Luna. I am a princess from Equestria." Now it was Locke's turn to look disbelieving "Okaaay... Anyway, do you know what could have brought you here?" Luna said "I was fighting my sister, Celestia, when she used the Elements of Harmony on me then I woke up here." "Well... It's not the weirdest thing I ever heard." Locke chuckled. "Are you hungry?" he smiled. Luna's stomach grumbled "I take that as a yes then." he laughed. "What do you eat?" "Do you have any hay fries?" Luna asked. Locke replied "What are hay fries?" "Okay, what about salad?" she asked. "Uh... I guess I have the ingredients in the fridge. Do you want egg with it?" She shook her head. "Can I have some water instead?" "Of course." Said Locke. And he left the room. When he got downstairs his brain still couldn't process what had happened. He went over to the fridge and got out some lettuce, tomato and cucumber. When he had finished the salad he got a glass of water from the fridge (cold water cleared the head) and headed back upstairs. When he went into his room Luna was lying in his bed, being careful not to put too much pressure on her front legs. She turned her head to look at him as he walked closer to her. He put the bowl of salad and the glass of water on the bedside table and sat on the chair that he had put next to the bed when treating her temperature. Luna sniffed the salad curiously like he had put something else in it. She took a bite and smiled at the taste. "This is good. Better than the palace cooks. Where did you learn to make salad?" "Actually it's my first time making it." Locke said. Luna replied "Well you are good at it. You should get a job at a restaurant. Make a bit or two." "What's a bit?" She looked surprised "The currency in Equestria." "Well we have pounds here." said Locke. Luna finished the salad and washed it down with the water. "Okay is there anything else you need?" he asked. "No nothing thanks." "Well I'm going to the vet to get some healing tips and some supplies." said Locke. "When will you be back?" asked Luna. "An hour or two." replied Locke. "Okay then. I'll get more sleep. And by the way, thank you." she said. "No need to thank me. You where hurt and I helped. Bye." he said. "Bye." said Luna. When Locke got to the vet and had chained up his bike he went inside. He went up to the front desk and asked how to help a pony with hurt legs. She spoke into a phone on the desk and asked Locke to wait. After a few minutes a man came out and said "Are you Locke?" "Yes." "Then come with me." He led Locke outside where there were horses running about. The man said "My name is Edward Buck but you can just call me Buck." "Okay." Locke replied. "You wanted help on a wounded pony?" asked Buck. "Yes." replied Locke. "Well, I can come over later." said Buck "No no no no that's okay. I just need some supplies and advice." Buck looked surprised but said "Okay, we have some medical supplies over there and as for advice, what kind of advice?." "Well, the pony won't sit still when I try to help so I can't put the splint on." said Locke. "And don't suggest a sedative because she doesn't like needles." "Well I'm sorry to say it's the needle or tablets, but they cost more." said Buck. Locke sighed. "Could I do it at home then?" He asked. "I don't see why not." said Buck. "Okay I'll take them. Where do I pay?" asked Locke. "The front desk." replied Buck. "Okay, bye." And just like that Locke was gone. When he got home with the supplies he first got breakfast and then headed upstairs. He found Luna asleep and woke her up. "I've got a splint and some sedatives but there only as a last resort. If your in too much pain just swallow these and you will fall asleep again. Okay?" "Okay." She straightened her legs and winced in pain. "Okay I'm ready." When Locke began to set the splint Luna began gasping in pain. "Do you want the sedatives?" He asked, concerned "No, I'm okay." He had finished one leg and began on the other. "So who is Celestia?" "She is my sister." Luna huffed. "Why where you fighting? Did she take something or what?" "I don't want to talk about it right now." Locke had finished the other leg. "Okay, done." "Thanks." said Luna. Suddenly Locke groaned and said "My mum's going to be home soon. What am I going to do?" "Tell her the truth." Said Luna. "I can't. She'll call the authorities. They'll take you away and preform experiments on you, see how you work." Locke thought for a minute. "I know, you can stay up here. I'll bring you food and water and I have a bathroom over there." He pointed to another door. "The only problem is getting mum not to come in here and covering up the crater." "Do you have a lock on the door?" Luna asked. "Yes but I'm not allowed to lock it." "Just say you're working on something private." "That might work." Said Locke "But what about the crater?" "Let me deal with that." said Luna. Her horn glowed midnight blue for a moment and then she said "There, the crater is filled in." Just then they heard a car coming up the driveway. "Bloody Hell!" he exclaimed. He looked at Luna. "Luna, are you going to be okay on your own for a few minutes?" "I'll be okay, don't worry." By the time Locke was downstairs his mum was just getting in the front door, looking tired. "Hello mum. Did you have a good time?" "What do you think?" His mum asked. "Anyway I'm going to bed. It's been a long two days." After his mum went to bed he moved the TV from the "game room" and moved it to his bedroom. Then Locke got the spare mattress and put it on the floor next to the bed. Luna was asleep so he put the TV on quiet. After a while he realised Luna was had woken up and watching TV with fascination. Sarcastically he said "Good afternoon Luna." She didn't move but kept watching the TV "What is that moving picture?" "It's called a television or TV for short." When the sun started going down Luna got up (being mindful of her legs) and Locke thought she was going to get a closer look at the TV but she walked to the window. He was curious when her horn lit up and he asked what she was doing. She said "Raising the moon of course." Locke replied "The moon raises itself naturally." Luna scoffed "Don't be silly. I raise the moon every night." And to prove her point her horn grew brighter and the moon started to ascend. He gaped at her and stuttered "W...wow. That's amazing" "Well it's not that amazing." she said as she blushed. "Well it's time for sleep. You can have the bed and I'll have the mattress." said Locke. "No, it is your bed. You should have it." Locke argued "You're wounded, you need a more comfortable sleeping arrangement." "Okay, fine. I'll take the bed." said Luna as she lost the argument.
