Chapter 4

Another bug shrieked in pain as Donkey Kong brought a fist down upon it before moving on to another bug. He quickly snatched one as it flew past him, he then preceded to headbutt it before throwing it as far away as he could before moving on to another. Rage clearly seen across his face as the, seemingly, never ending swarm of bugs circled around him, stopping him from reaching his attended targets currently housed within the train.

A green blast coming from the direction of the train threw him onto the ground as pain erupted from his right shoulder. As he stumbled, maniacal laughter is heard. DK, now aware that the swarm seemed to stop, looked away from his wound to glare at them all, trying to find which of them was the one who hit him. The bugs made a path as a giant black and green bug with a crown slowly approached. A smirk upon its muzzle as it stood a few feet before him.

"Now listen here, monkey!" The bug spat, "You wish to capture The Element Bearers? Well get in line!" It cackled, unaware of the burning rage growing within DK as this new obstacle made itself known. "They are my prisoners! And I will not let them go!"

It wasn't long before he charged at it.

A green glow enveloped him as he lunged towards it, and soon enough Donkey Kong's momentum had him back on the ground.

"You mindless animal!" The bug snarled upon his grounded form, "Do you really think you can defeat me?"

"I have bested the princess of the sun! And as such, I will surely-"

A mighty roar from the ape stopped the giant bug from continuing as Donkey Kong, in a flash, rose and charged. Before the bug could react, Donkey Kong sprung into the air, his fists raised high above his head and his form eclipsing the bug as she stared dumbly. Snapping back to reality, his target leaped to the side, just avoiding his fists as they impacted the ground where the bug once stood. The ground trembled from his strike, causing the bugs to stumble, the giant one included.

It righted itself and looked at him in surprise. He glared back. The bugs gaze hardened and a green glow shined from its spike. Putting two and two together, Donkey Kong rushed it, noticing it's eyes widen as he got closer. The glow from its spike stopped as the bug dodged a powerful swing and back pedaled from him, trying to get some distance between them. DK wouldn't have it and continued with his offense.

'The ape is a lot faster than I originally thought!' Chrysalis thought, as she dodged another of the gorilla's powerful

swings. 'But no matter! It's attacks are wild. I just need to wait for the right moment to-'

A flash of light caught the changeling queens attention. As she turned towards it's location, she realized that it came from the train cart housing the elements. And all of her drones are here. Watching their queen take on a lowly beast.

"You fools!" Chrysalis bellowed to her changelings, "You've let the element bearers-" She stopped mid sentence as a shadow loomed over her.

She turned to her opponent with dread. Time seemed to slow as she turned to face the overgrown ape, and as it slowed, her life flashed before her eyes. From the day she hatched all the way to the day she invaded Canterlot, to right now. All to soon, an eruption of pain came from the top of her head followed shortly by the changeling queen impacting the very ground. Before she could even think how the ape had lodged her entire body into the very earth, Chrysalis, Queen of the Changeling, fell unconscious.

DK rose and looked over the form of the changeling queen he skull bashed head first into the earth. He snorted indifferently when one of her legs twitched. Satisfied, he turned to the spectators, the bugs cowered before him as he looked over them, searching for the thieves. DK's eyes fell on the train cart. He snarled and quickly went towards it.

The bugs quickly got out of the apes way as he rushed towards the cart and forcefully opened it. All he saw before him was another bug on the floor, it groaned as it tried to right itself. DK grabbed it and stared, trying to figure out if it was among the ones that dared to touch his precious hoard.

"P-please don't hurt me!" the bug squeaked out in fear after trying, and failing, to free itself from the gorilla's grasp. DK looked around the barren cart for the thieves before inspecting the bug again after not finding them.

"W-what?" it trembled, "Th-the bearers?" it asked in trepidation as DK continued to stare.

"They teleported out of here the moment the purple one freed itself." It proclaimed. Donkey Kong shot it a confused look in response. "Th-they most likely went to Canterlot! Wh-where they'll be safe." The bug trembled in his grasp, sweating profusely and smiling nervously at the ape.

The bugs eyes darted here and there, trying to find something that'll have the ape release it. It seemed to have found something as it stared at a certain area for a few seconds before looking back at the ape. Noticing that he was losing his patience with the bug.

"Th-there!" the bug proclaimed with a point from behind him. Donkey Kong turned towards the direction the bug was pointing and saw a tall lonely mountain in the distance. Said mountain had a castle latched on to the very side of it. "They went there!" the bug clarified.

Having heard what he needed, DK Released the bug and, with no little to no hesitation, ran. The bugs that remained went from trying to dig out the giant one, to darted out of his way in terror as he rushed past them and towards the mountain with a look of determination. This time he'll make sure the banana thieves won't escape from him.
