ON THE TRAIN TO THE CRYSTAL EMPIRE
Toriel is laying down on the chair next to Asgore, who was sleeping, with a smile on her face, trying to visualize what the Crystal Empire looks like. Asriel stares out the window as the scenery flies by. Frisk is hiding within one of Toriel's wings to avoid the terrorizing looks on everypony's faces. Toriel looks at Frisk with a motherly smile.
"Frisk, it'll be okay." She promised
"No it isn't...they're all scared of me...they hate me..." She sniffed.
"Frisk, if it will make you happy, do you want a hug?" Toriel asked. Frisk nods and reached her front legs up to Toriel.
"Yes mommy." She said. Toriel pulls Frisk into a hug.
"Everything will be okay." She said. Frisk hugs back and nuzzles her chest.
"I love you mommy." She said.
"I love you too, Frisk." Toriel said. Frisk smiles and curls up in Toriel's lap.
"Best mommy I could ever have." She said happily. Toriel warmly smiles and nuzzles Frisk.
"Best daughter I could ever have." She said.
"Thanks mom." Frisk said. She smiles and reaches for Asriel and pulls him close. "Wanna cuddle big brother?" She asked. Asriel smiles and hugs Frisk.
"Sure." He said. Frisk snuggles into Asriel and nuzzles his cheek.
"Thank you, big brother." She said happily.
"No problem little sister." Asriel said. Frisk smiles.
"I know everypony hates me but as long as I have you guys I'm fine." She said.
"And I'll be there to protect you." Asriel added.
"I know you will, Asriel." Frisk said, smiling. Toriel smiles at them.
"Aww, you two are so cute together." She said.
"Mooooom!" Asriel said in annoyance.
"What, it's true." She said. Frisk tightly hugs Asriel.
"My big brother!" She said. Asriel hugs back.
"My little sister." He said. Toriel looks at Twilight.
"I hope your brother likes the pie I made." She said as she checked on the butterscotch cinnamon pie that's next to her.
"I'm sure they'll love it!" Twilight said, smiling. Frisk boops Asriel's muzzle.
"Tag, you're it!" She yells as she gets up and runs to the opposite end of the car, suddenly forgetting the other ponies in the same car. Asriel smiles and runs after her.
"I'm gonna get you!" He said. Toriel smiles as she sees Asriel and Frisk having fun. Frisk giggles all the while, fluttering around the car in the air.
"You can't get me cause you can't fly!" She taunted.
"No matter what, I will get you!" Asriel said.
"Try me!" she giggles and flies up to one of the luggage shelves. Asriel jumps on an empty seat and starts to climb up onto the luggage shelves. Frisk giggles.
"You can't get me!" She giggled. She flies over to the opposite side. Toriel notices Frisk and Asriel on the luggage shelves. She has a look of worry.
"Hey, please be careful!" She said worrying. Asriel looks at her.
"We will mom!" He said. Frisk smiles and flutters down to Asriel. Asriel grabs Frisk into a hug.
"I got you now!" He said.
"I know!" Frisk giggles and hugs Asriel back tightly. "I love you big brother." She said happily. Asriel smiles.
"I love you too, little sister. Now, let's get down from here before we get into trouble." He said. Frisk nods and as best she can she carries Asriel back down to Toriel, then lays against his side.
"Asriel, can you hold me?" She asked. Asriel nods and holds her.
"Sure." He said. Frisk smiles snuggles close to Asriel. Asriel smiles at her. Toriel warmly smiles at Asriel and Frisk.
"Thank you for protecting me." Frisk said.
"I couldn't let anypony hurt you." Asriel said. Frisk giggles and hugs Asriel
"We almost there, mommy?" She asked.
"Uh..." Twilight said. She looks out the window, seeing the empire just in the distance. "Give it another couple minutes, Frisk." She said. Toriel has a wide smile on her face.
"Ooh, this is so exciting!" She said.
"I just hope they won't make too much of a fuss about Frisk." Twilight said. Toriel's smile fades.
"If they dare harm her, I will protect her." Toriel stated.
"I'm sure you will." Twilight said, smiling nervously. Frisk raises her forelegs to Toriel, smiling.
"Mommy!" She said happily. Toriel smiles and picks Frisk up.
"Yes sweetie?" She asked.
"I love you!" Frisk said, hugging Toriel. Toriel hugs back slightly tighter.
"I love you too." She said. Frisk hugs back even tighter.
"Love you more, mommy!" She said. Toriel nuzzles Frisk. Frisk giggles and smiles. Toriel notices that the train was stopping at the station.
"Oh! Looks like we've arrived!" Twilight said happily. Asgore snorts and wakes up from the honking of the train.
"Wha?" He asked sleepily. Toriel looks at Asgore.
"We're here, honey." She said.
"Oh! Uh...I guess I slept through the whole ride, huh? " Asgore asked. He tilts his head left and right, popping the bones. Toriel giggles.
"You've been sleeping a lot lately." She said.
"Ugh...I know...I'm sorry..." He yawned. Asgore gently hugs Toriel and kisses Frisk's head. Frisk giggles.
"Silly daddy." She giggled.
"It's okay, Asgore, you've been running a kingdom for a thousand years with hardly any rest, except for when you take care of your flowers, you need the rest." Toriel said. Asgore smiles
"Thanks, honey." He said, nuzzling Toriel.
"Should we be going now mommy and daddy?" Frisk asked.
"Yep!" Twilight said, getting out of her seat.
"Asriel can I ride on you?" Frisk asked. Asriel smiles and nods.
"Sure!" He said. Toriel gets out of her seat and stretches.
"I think my wings fell asleep." She said. Asgore smiles and walks besides Toriel as they exit the train. Frisk squees with joy and gets onto Asriel's back.
"Hey, wait up!" Asriel yells as he gallops after Toriel and Asgore, with Frisk on his back.
"Wheee!!" Frisk giggles joyfully as they pass many ponies. Toriel looks and sees Frisk having fun, causing her to warmly smile.
"Aww, ain't that cute." She said happily. Asgore nuzzles Toriel's cheek.
"It certainly is, dear." He said. Frisk hugs Asriel as she rides around on his back. Toriel smiles at Asgore as she levitates the pie near her. Asriel reaches Asgore and Toriel, slightly out of breath. Frisk giggles and nuzzles Asriel.
"You can walk now brother." She said. Asriel nods and smiles. Toriel notices a white unicorn with a blue mane and a pink alicorn standing in the middle of the station.
"Cadance! Shining Armour!" Twilight yelled happily. She smiles and trots up to them.
"Oh...I think that's them...uh..." Frisk said, scared. She slowly gets off Asriel's back and hides behind him. Toriel stays next to her.
"It'll be okay, Frisk, we're here for you." She said.
"And I'll protect you." Asriel said.
"Twilight! I didn't expect you to be here so early!" Shining armor said. Cadence sniffles a small giggle.
"We weren't expecting you until the next train!" She said.
"Oh, you know how I am! Gotta get things done!" Twilight said happily.
"Are these the ponies you told us about?" Shining asked, looking at Asgore and Toriel.
"Yep!" Twilight said.
"What about that...changeling you told us about?" Cadence asked. Frisk takes a deep breath and gulps before shakidly getting up.
"H-hi." She said shakily.
"Oh...we uh....thought you threw the whole changeling thing into your letter as a joke..." Shining said.
"I can't allow her into our castle...for all we know it could be Chrysalis disguised as a filly changeling! I'm sorry." Cadence said.
"See mom?" Frisk sniffed, looking up at Toriel sadly. "Nopony wants me around..." She sniffed as a tear slips from her cheek she runs off to hide behind the building.
"Okay...I don't think Chrysalis would have run off crying like that..." Shining said. Toriel glares at Shining armor and cadence, before running off after Frisk.
"Frisk, wait!" She yelled. Asriel looks at Shining armor and Cadence with disgust.
"Seriously!?" He yells. Cadence kneels down to Asriel's height.
"Look, this invitation was for my baby shower, as in the baby I'm going to have. Changelings can be tricksters into getting what they want, and being a mother I don't and won't put my baby at risk." She said, gently ruffles Asriel's mane with a hoof. Frisk curls up into a ball against the wall, sobbing quietly. Asriel knocks Cadence's hoof away.
"I don't need that! We finally made Frisk come here, and you turn her away like that!?" He yells, turning into his alicorn form.
"We were happy for her, and you just ruined that!" He yells. Cadence stares up as Asriel, jaw dropped. Shining Armor faints.
"Nopony wants me...nopony likes me...why do I have to be such an ugly creature!?" Frisk cries.
"I'm sorry! I am only doing what's best for my baby! If she really means no harm, then I don't have a problem with her...I'm only protecting my baby..." Cadence said in fright. Toriel sees Frisk.
"Oh, Frisk. Mommy's here." She said. Asriel glares at them one last time, before walking the way Toriel went.
"Why does everypony hate me..." Frisk sniffed. Toriel picks her up and hugs her.
"They just misjudged you. They didn't know who you were, they only saw what you were." She said.
"Told you I should have stayed home..." Frisk sniffed, looking down. Cadence sighs at Shining then walks over to Toriel.
"Is she okay? I honestly had no intentions of hurting her feelings..." She said, looking down slightly.
"Why can't I just be a normal pony, mommy? Then maybe I won't get picked on..." Frisk said.
"Did she call you mommy?" Cadence asked, tilting her head in confusion. Toriel looks at Cadence and nods.
"Yea, we found her in a pair of trash cans, and we decided to take her in." She said. Asriel looks at Frisk.
"Hey Frisk, big brothers here." He said. Frisk jumps and clings to Asriel's neck.
"Frisk?" Cadence asked. Frisk hesitantly turns her head to look at Cadance.
"W-what?" She asked, scared.
"I'm sorry for making you upset...I can see you're clearly not like other changelings. Your kind has been known to cause mayhem and mischief...as you know about their attack on Canterlot." Cadence said.
"I know..." Frisk said, looking down. "Them doing that got everypony to hate me. They think I'm just bad and evil..." She sniffed. Cadence smiles and with her magic she pulls Frisk into a caring hug. Frisk smiles and hugs back.
"Thanks, your highness. At least your baby won't need to worry about being a freak like me..." She says, looking down.
"Oh sweetie you aren't a freak. You're quite adorable honestly!" Cadence giggles. "You may be small," She said, looking into Frisk's eyes. "But you've got a big heart full of love." She added. Frisk smiles.
"Thank you." She said happily. Asriel smiles as he shrinks back into a colt. Toriel smiles as well.
"Um, Cadence, if you don't mind me asking, why do you not like changelings?" She asked.
"Well, It's not tht I don't like them, I just want to stay protected from them, but I can see Frisk means no harm at all." Cadence smiles, holding Frisk close in her forelegs. "In fact I wouldn't mind at all if she ever wanted to visit." She said. Frisk has a wide smile, nuzzling Cadance's chest.
"Shall we be going? My husband has decided to pass out." Cadence said as she puts Frisk down by Toriel with her magic. Frisk runs back and hugs Cadence's leg.
"Thank you so much!" She said happily.
"Awe, ain't she cute?" Cadence said. Toriel nods.
"That she is." She agreed.
"Let's also make sure he doesn't do anything drastic." Asriel added.
"I'll make sure of it." Cadence said.
"Mommy can I ride on Cadance's back? Maybe if I do that, then ponies will see I'm not bad!" Frisk pointed out.
"That's actually not a bad idea!" Cadence agreed. She smiles and places Frisk on her back.
"Aww, so cute!" Asgore said, smiling at her. "Daddy loves you!" He said.
"I love you too Daddy!" Frisk said happily. She hugs his muzzle before he can move away. Toriel smiles and places Asriel on her back.
"Shall we get going?" She asked.
"Yep!" Cadence said. She picks up her sleeping husband in her magic and begins walking.
"Auntie Cadence!" Frisk said.
"What? Auntie? But I'm not even your mother's sister..." Cadence said. Asgore chuckles.
"She calls Twilight her auntie as well." He added.
"I just go with it, plus it's cute!" Twilight said. Toriel giggles.
"That is true." She said.
"Alright, I'll be your auntie." Cadence said. She nuzzles Frisk's cheek as they walk.
"Yay! I love you Auntie Cadance!" Frisk yells happily.
"Oh haha, l-love you too!" Cadence said with a smile, but felt a little weird to say it to a changeling. Frisk smiles and lays down on Cadence's back, nestling in her fur. Tor warmly smiles.
"Awww, so cute." She said. Asriel lays on top of Toriel's head. Cadence smiles at Frisk.
"Taking a nap?" She asked. Frisk nods and closes her eyes with a yawn.
"Sleep well then." Cadence said, stopping for a second to kiss Frisk's head. Toriel smiles. Asriel looks around at the many crystal buildings. The many ponies they pass by tend to stop an stare at the changeling filly upon Cadence's back. A small giggle or chuckle could also be heard from the unconscious, snoring Shining Armor as he sucks on his tail whilst being floated along in Cadance's magic.
"I wonder what the guards at the gate will say." Cadence said. Both Asriel and Toriel shrug.
"Well, they better not try to hurt my little filly!" Asgore warned.
"Or they'll have to face me and Toriel." Asriel said
"Seems you guys really care for this filly, huh?" Cadence asked. Toriel nods.
"We do." She said. Asriel nods as well.
"Yep!" He said.
"Why wouldn't I care about my own daughter?" Asgore said. He smiles at a sleeping Frisk, snoring slightly, curled up on Cadance's back. Cadence smiles.
"She's quite the cutie...I feel bad for hurting her feelings..." She apologizes.
"Let's just say, you weren't the only one we had to talk to about hurting Frisk's feelings." Toriel said.
"I was one too...and yeah..." Twilight said. Toriel notices that they were in front a a massive castle with a crystal like heart in the middle. She looks around in amazement.
"Here we are!" Cadence said happily.
"This... this is amazing, it's as amazing as our castle, right Asgore." Toriel said in amazement. Asriel looks up at the massive tower.
"It is..." Asgore said. Cadence smiles and leads them to the entrance. Toriel follows cadence. The guards instantly take notice of Frisk.
"Hey! What do you think you're doing!?" They roar, drawing their spears.
"Whoah woah! She's with us! She's okay!" Cadence yelled, trying to calm the guards. Frisk wakes up from the yelling, only to see a spear in her face.
"GAH!!" She screamed. She flinches back and falls off of Cadance. Asriel turns back into his alicorn form and steps in front of the guards, glaring at them.
"Back away from my little sister!" He yells. Toriel holds Frisk close. With her magic Cadence restrains the guards and takes their weapons.
"You better not dare hurt this filly! You hear?" She says angrily. The guards nod and then Cadance drops them. "Okay let's continue!" She said. Asriel glares at them one last time, causing them to shiver in fear, before turning back into a colt. Toriel looks at Frisk.
"Are you okay, Frisk?" She asked.
"Wasn't really what I wanted to wake up to..." She sniffed.
"It's okay, mommy's here." Toriel said. Frisk stays close to Toriel as they are led through the halls. Toriel keeps a wary eye on the guards as they walk.
"Mommy im scared..." Frisk said scared as she walks underneath Toriel. "I wanna go home..." She sniffed. Toriel picks Frisk up and holds her close.
"It's okay sweetie, I'm here." She said. Frisk curls up in toriel's grasp.
"I love you mommy." She yawned. Toriel warmly smiles at her.
"I love you too, Frisk." She said. Frisk nuzzles her mother's chest, smilng slightly. Toriel warmly smiles at her.
"Mom?" Frisk asked.
"Yes sweetie?" Toriel asked back.
"Promise you'll always love me?" She said. Toriel hugs her tight.
"I promise I will never stop loving you." She said.
"I'll never stop loving you either, mom!" Frisk said happily as they approach Cadance's room. Toriel nuzzles her. Frisk smiles. Asriel looks around. Toriel places Frisk on her back. Cadence sighs and stands in front of her door.
"I just hope Celestia will understand your situation with Frisk." She said.
"I hope so..." Frisk said, hugging Toriel. Asriel notices that one of the unicorn mares is looking in their direction. The unicorn quickly turns away. Cadence takes a deep breath and walks in.
"We have guests!" She said. Asriel raises an eyebrow, before walking in. Toriel walks in as well. Frisk was shking again, she stays behind Toriel, scared to death of the sun and lunar godesses themselves being mere feet from her.
"First things first...surprisingly don't involve my baby, but should be taken care of is..." Cadence said, looking around her. "A very special guest of ours... Frisk?" Cadence said. Shutting her eyes tight, Frisk hesitantly steps out into view.
"It's okay, Frisk, I've already met them, their very friendly." Toriel said.
"N-not to changelings..." Frisk said, scared. Celestia's jaw drops.
"Is that a...changeling!?" She yelled. Cadence nods.
"That she is." She said
"And she's a good one!" Twilight said.
"My daughter. Adopted, obviously, but still!" Asgore said.
"But we havn't seen a changeling since the attack of thou's home!" Luna said.
"Well it's nice to see you two again." Toriel said slightly sarcastically.
"But Frisk is different!" Cadence yelled.
"She even goes to school in Ponyville!" Twilight said.
"Is this true?" asked Celestia, standing over, Frisk, gazing down at her with a raised brow. Frisk nods.
"Uh huh...I even made fr-friends! Please don't blast me your highness!" She yells, cowering in fear.
"Cadance, why would you bring a changeling to your baby shower? Chrysalis even could be disguised as this filly!" Celestia said. Cadence chuckles nervously.
"I said the same thing...but it's obvious she wouldn't run crying like Frisk did...not that I'm picking on the poor thing, just trying to prove a point! She even asked me to be her auntie!" She said. Twilight nods in agreement.
"Same here, princess. She's our friend." She said. Frisk nods and hugs Cadence's leg. Cadence gently hugs back and nuzzles Frisk's cheek.
"I love you, Auntie Cadance." Frisk said.
"Oh, and Celestia, we have good news!" Toriel said happily.
"What is it?" Celestia asked. Toriel looks at Asriel.
"Asriel, can you come up here?" Asriel asked. Toriel looks at Asriel.
"Celestia, I would like you to meet our son, Asriel." She said.
"Aww, what an adorable colt!" Celestia said. She smiles and ruffles his mane. "But...Im not sure what to say about your changeling...she could still pose a threat...but to appear alone before the princesses in one room..." She said. "I doubt she'd hurt anypony." She said, nuzzling Frisk. Frisk smiles and nuzzles back.
"Thanks your highness!" She said happily.
"And there is one sad part about Asriel, we havn't seen him for a thousand years." Toriel said. Asriel's entire body shakes.
"Please don't remind me that I died mom." He said.
"Thousand? He's only a child!" Celestia said. She lifts her head back up, only for Frisk to hold on.
"Wheee!" Frisk yells excitedly.
"Well, um, you see your highness, for a thousand years, I was a flower, but not just a any flower, but a flower that was my hatred, my anger towards everyone. I... I wasn't myself. I even killed my own father!" He yells as tears started to appear in his eyes.
"But how is he here then..." Celestia said in shock.
"Son...come..." Asgore said. He puts Asriel on his back and goes out into the hall. "You okay?" He asked as he pulls Ariel into a tight and caring hug. Asriel cries against Asgore's chest as he hugs him tight.
"It's alright, Asriel, I love you." Asgore said. He holds him just as tight . "It's in the past, okay?" He asked.
"I know, but it hurts so much." Asriel sniffs.
"I know, I know. But we're together now and it's all that matters." Asgore said. Asriel falls asleep in Asgore's hug. Frisk holds her forelegs out to Luna.
"Hug?" She asked as she smiles from atop Celestia's head. Luna smiles and picks Frisk up.
"I have to admit, you're quite cute." She said. Asgore sits down on a bench and holds him close. Frisk giggles in Luna's hold.
"Thanks!" She said happily. She snuggles close to Luna, nuzzling her chest. Toriel smiles at the scene.
"I'm gonna go check and see how Asriel is doing." She said, before walking the way that Asgore went. Asgore gently runs a hoof along Asriel's back as he holds him. Toriel notices Asgore holding a sleeping Asriel.
"Asgore, how's he doing?" She asked.
"Oh, he cried for a bit and fell asleep." Asgore said. He smiles how Asriel is giving off a slight snore. "How's Frisk?" He asked. Frisk falls asleep in Luna's grasp.
"She's doing great with the princesses." Toriel said.
"That's good to hear." Asgore said happily. Frisk smiles in her sleep, nuzzling Luna's chest again. Toriel nods. Luna smiles at Frisk.
"Sister, just look at her. Now if she was Queen Chrysalis, she wouldn't be doing this." She said.
"I know she isn't Chrysalis. She's a sweet filly, isn't she?" Celestia asked. Luna nods in agreement.
"She is." She said. Celestia gently nuzzles the sleeping changeling's cheek.
"Never thought I'd ever be nuzzling a changeling, but Frisk isn't bad. I can see it she just wants to be like everypony else." She said. Luna nods in agreement.
"Shall we head back, Asgore?" Toriel asked.
"Let's get Frisk." Asgore said. Toriel nods.
"Do you want me to hold Asriel? Or do you?" She asked. Asgore smiles.
"I got Asriel. He's pretty comfy as it is. Wouldn't want to wake him." He said. Asriel mutters in his sleep.
"We should tell ponies about this so she doesn't get treated as if she were a normal changling." Celestia said. Luna nods.
"That would be a good idea." She said. Asgore gets up and places Asriel onto his back. Frisk chews a bit on some of Luna's fur as she sleeps. Toriel smiles.
"Let's head back." She said. Luna looks at Frisk happily. Frisk snores lightly, curled up in Luna's grasp. Luna smiles at her. Toriel walks back in and notices Frisk sleeping quietly in Luna's hooves.
"Aww, so cute." She said. Frisk smiles as she sleeps.
"I bet you'd want her back?" Celestia asked.
"And she's my neice apparently..." Cadence said. Twilight giggles a little.
"She seems to be happy with Luna." Toriel said. Luna nods in agreement. She notices a unicorn mare walking towards their direction.
"Oh, hello, Feather Dust! I've been needing you!" Celestia said. Toriel notices that feather duster was the same unicorn mare that was staring at them while they were with Cadence.
"Would you mind getting us a small blanket for this filly?" Celestia asked, pointing a hoof towards Frisk. Toriel notices that something was a bit off about Feather Duster, but can't quite put her hoof on it. Luna continues to look at Frisk with happiness. Frisk twitches slightly, and stirs herself into a more comfortable position.
"I'll make it known she's welcome here anytime she likes." Celestia said. Toriel smiles.
"Thank you, Celestia." She said happily.
"I just want to hug her tight. She's just so cute!" Luna said. Frisk mumbles in her sleep, before smiling.
"Aww, Luna." Celestia cooed. Luna warmly smiles at Frisk. Toriel notices that Feather Duster hasn't left, nor said anything.
"Soo...when can I be expecting the blanket for Frisk?" Celestia asked. Toriel could have sworn she saw a sneer appear on feather duster's face for a second.
"I don't know...it seems like a far walk to me...when I've come quite a ways already." Feather Duster said. Toriel raises an eyebrow in confusion. Luna is slightly confused.
"What do you mean exactly, it shouldn't be that far to get a blanket." She said.
"It was a long way to get HERE! For her!" Feather Duster yelled, pointing at Frisk. "My run away daughter!" She yelled. Frisk mumbles from the noise, shifting in Luna's grasp and mumbles mommy, slightly awake, wanting Toriel.
"What do you mean?" Celestia asked in confusion.
"Don't you get it!?" The mare groans as a green flame erupts around her, leaving a smirking Queen Chrysalis behind after dissapating.
"That filly is my daughter!" She yells. Toriel eyes widen at the transformation, before stepping in front of Queen Chrysalis with a look of protection.
"You will not take her!" She said. Asriel hears yelling and wakes up, only to see Toriel in front of Luna and Queen Chrysalis. He immediately knows what's happening and gets off Asgore and runs to his mother's side. Frisk snaps awake and gasps.
"M-mother!" She yells. She scambles out of Luna's hold and runs to hide behind Toriel.
"She is MY daughter! She ran from home because the others tease her! She is the heir to the throne, and you cannot tell me what I can and cannot do with my daughter!" Chrysalis snarled. She glares, standing half a foot taller than Toriel, smirking down upon her.
"Like you could ever have a chance of stopping me." She smirked.
"Chrysalis! Leave, or you know what'll happen, since it's happened before!" Said the solar godess, standing between the bug pony and Toriel.
"Oh, I mean no harm relly. I only wih to bring my little girl home. You know how much a mother loves their children. But if it's a fight you want, I'll fight till my last breath for her!" Chrysalis said. Toriel glares at her.
"If you'd loved her, you would have looked for her. But no, we found her in a pair of trash cans in a alleyway, no mother would let their daughter be in there. I will gladly give my life to protect her from you!" She yells.
"If I wasn't looking for her, why am I here now!? She's MY daughter and she's coming with ME!" Chrysalis yelled. She stomps her hoof and with a light of her horn she teleports out of the castle with Frisk. Toriel's eye twitches as her horn lights up and she disappears after Chrysalis. She hears Frisk's screams and sees Chrysalis running away. Something inside her snaps at seeing Frisk terrified.
"Give her back!!" She roars as she flaps her wings, rocketing towards Chrysalis. The queen of changeling gave a smirk, placing a magical barrier before Toriel. Toriel sees the barrier and her horn lights. The barrier is engulfed in flames, then shatters as Toriel nears Chrysalis. Chrysalis growls between her teeth and teleports farther a head.
"Moooommmmyyyy!!!!" Frisk screams. Toriel's anger grows at Frisk screams. Her horn glows and she teleports in front of Chrysalis. Her horn glows even brighter and a dome of fire surrounds them.
"Give. My. Daughter. Back!" She yelled.
"Never!" Chrysalis yelled. She fires a green beam of energy at Toriel. A wall of fire appears and blocks the beam, dispersing it.
"Give. Her. Back." Toriel demanded.
"Why would I!?" Chrysalis ask, slightly shakily, running out of ideas to stop Toriel. Toriel steps through the fire unharmed.
"Because, I'm her mother, and your not. You may say that you care for her, but I highly doubt that. I've been taking care of her and making her happy ever since me and Asgore found her in the alleyway." She said.
"Now I won't ask you again. Give. Her. Back." She demanded again. Decides there is no stopping this mare and that she needs to get away. Chrysalis tries to teleport, but her magic fails her.
"B-But she's MY daughter!" She yells, her voice quivering with fear. Toriel sneers at her.
"She's my daughter! I took care of her, I feed her, I made her happy, she made friends at school and with the princesses, I gave her love and made sure she was protected. Even her big brother protected her too. She is mine, and I would like her back." She said.
"Did you hatch her!? No! I DID! Did you spend the first few months starving because you'd rather feed her? NO! I did!" Chrysalis yelled. Frisk curls up in Chrysalis's green aura of magic, sobbing to herself.
"That may be true. But were you there when she made friends at school? No! Were you there to keep her happy when she was scared? No! Where you there when her big brother protected her from bullies. No! Were you truly there to make sure that she was happy to be friends with the princesses? No! So hand me my daughter back, now." Toriel demanded as she was standing not to far from Chrysalis.
"But you aren't her actual mother!" Chrysalis yelled. She starts to tear up.
"She ran from home and I only want my baby girl back...I try to keep her happy, but the other hatchling toss her around and pick on her..." She sniffed, bringing Frisk to her chest. "What kind of a mother would I be to let her be in a world full of ponies who will mostly all hate on her!?" She yelled. A tear falls from her cheek.
"I know I can be harsh on her at times...but it's only for when she becomes queen! She'll need to be strong! Don't take her from me..." She sniffed.
"But I'm making friends with the ponies..." Frisk said.
"She is making friends with the ponies, why not you?" Toriel asked.
"Long story I'm in no mood for telling. I only wish to bring MY daughter HOME!" Chrysalis yelled.
"It's because of the attack that Luna talked about, isn't it?" Toriel asked.
"Our races have NEVER gotten along. Last thing I'd ever trust my baby with is a pony!" Chrysalis said in anger.
"Frisk's been happy ever since she's been with me and my family, even made friends with ponies." Toriel said.
"You know what!? Let HER choose! I can't believe I'm doing this." Chrysalis said. She stomps a hoof and sets Frisk down between Toriel and herself, a five foot distance to either pony.
"Choose, SKY. ME, your MOTHER or a PONY who is only tricking you!" Chrysalis yelled.
"I..." Frisk said, not knowing what to do. She sits there, glancing between the two. "I..." She said again.
"Frisk, remember how much fun you had at school, the friends you made while your big brother made sure you were protected." Toriel said.
"Don't run form me because of some stubborn, jealous colts..." Chrysalis said. Frisk looks down at the ground.
"I love you both...a lot...this is all my fault..." She sniffed.
"Chrysalis!" Said the sun goddess, appearing behind Chrysalis.
"You know what...I'll just go." Chrysalis said quickly. She looks down at Frisk and pulls her into a hug.
"Just...stay safe and behave...okay? " She said sadly. She kisses Frisk's head and gets up. "Take care of her." She said to Toriel. With a final tear she teleports away. Frisk looks down sadly. Toriel looks at Frisk with sadness.
"Frisk?" She asked.
"My name is actually Sky." Frisk sniffed, wiping her muzzle with her hoof.
"Do you need a hug?" Toriel asked.
"Yes, mommy..." Frisk sniffed. Toriel pulls Frisk into a slightly tight hug.
"I'm here, everything will be okay." She said.
"Mommy...I wanna go home..." Frisk said, cuddling in Toriel's hug. "Can I sleep with you and daddy again?" She asked. Toriel smiles and nods.
"Sure." She said. She notices Celestia come closer with a look of worry.
"Maybe it's best she goes back. I never thought a changeling like Chrysalis herself could care for anypony so much." She said.
"But I don't wanna go back...Toriel's my mommy!" Frisk said. Toriel has a slight look of sadness.
"I tried to reason with Chrysalis, but she refused. Why, I tried to help her." She sighed.
"Things will only get better if she goes back." Celestia said.
"No! I wanna stay with mommy!" Frisk yells, tightly hugs Toriel and starts to cry. "I don't wanna go back! Toriel is my mommy! Nopony else! And Asgore is my daddy! I have friends and I'm happy with mommy!" She cried. Celestia sighs.
"Mommy just take me home! I don't wanna be here anymore!" Frisk yells. Toriel looks at Celestia slightly angry.
"I will not send her back to Chrysalis. She's staying with me and my family." She stated.
"Think about. She IS a changeling. Most ponies will only see her as what she is. She'll be teased more than you could ever imagine. She may have gotten lucky at her school, how you even got her enrolled there baffles me. I know Frisk is a sweet filly, but not everypoy will see eye to eye. Think about what's best for HER. she needs to be fed love to survive. You can't do that the way changelings can. Soon...you won't want to know what'll happen if she isn't given love soon. You love her to death, I know. Could you love her enough to do what's right?" Celestia asked. Frisk looks down, knowing where Celestia is getting at.
"She's right..." She sniffed. Toriel is even angrier.
"If she needed love to survive, then how come when Frisk ate food, she was fine, even at school, there wasn't any love, how come she was fine, can you explain that?" She asked.
"I've known changelings all my life. Even fillies can go a week or two without love. You've had her only a few days I can tell. Her chitin is only slightly faded from deprivation. Ignore my advice you'll only be hurting her. A good mother wouldn't want their own children to starve now, am I right?" Celestia asked.
"I will never let her starve, but I will never let her go back to Chrysalis." Toriel said. She suddenly has an idea. "Wait a minute. My pie! Celestia, is the pie still with Luna and my family before you came here?" She asked. Celestia tilts her head in confusion.
"Yes, why?" She asked. Toriel concentrates and her horn lights up. The pie appears and she looks at Frisk.
"Frisk, do you want a slice of pie?" She asked. As soon as she asked that, Frisk's stomach growled.
"Depression make me not hungry..." Frisk said. Toriel sighs.
"All right, let's get Asgore and Asriel, and head home." Toriel said.
"I should have never been born..." She sniffed. Toriel gasps at her.
"Frisk, don't say that! If you've never been born, then you would never meet me, Asgore, and your big brother." She said.
"I should just leave and never come back...that'd fix it..." Frisk said. She lay unmoving in Toriel's arms, her crying had ceased. Toriel looks at her in shock.
"Frisk? Frisk!?" She yells. She doesn't respond, but Toriel could see that she was sleeping.
"Take her home with you. I hope soon you'll make the right choice." Celestia said. She lights her horn and disappears. Toriel looks at where Celestia stood, before sighing and placing Frisk on her back. She walks back towards where Asgore and Asriel is.
"Toriel? Something wrong?" Asgore asked. Toriel looks at him with tears in her eyes.
"It's Frisk, she's not looking to good..." She sniffed.
"Let's get home and we can talk about it then okay?" Asgore asked. He looks and sees a worried princesses Luna. "Something wrong, princess?" He asked. Luna looks at Frisk with worry.
"Is... is she okay?" She asked.
"I... I don't know..." Toriel sniffed. Frisk mumbles in her sleep, reaching for Luna.
"We're going to take care of her that's a promise." Asgore promised. Luna picks Frisk up and holds her close, tears starting to form in her eyes.
"Please do. I can't see a little filly like this, it's heartbreaking." She sniffed.
"We will." Asgore said. Luna wipes her eyes with her hoof and places Frisk back on Toriel's back.
"Please, be safe." She sniffed. Frisk mumbles again for Luna.
"Maybe you keep her tonight. She seems to want to be with you for now." Asgore said. Luna picks Frisk up again and holds her close.
"I will take good care of her." She promised. Toriel wipes the tears from her eyes. Frisk smiles in her sleep and snuggles close to Luna.
"We could maybe stay the night as well? In a guest room or something so we wont have to make two more train trips?" Asgore suggested. Luna nods.
"There is, I can take you to one that's near the one I'm staying in, so that you three can be close can be close." She offered. Toriel nods.
"Thank you." She said. She also notices that Asriel is asleep on Asgore's back.
"Alright. Keep Frisk close okay? She hates being lonely." Asgore chuckles slightly to himself.
"Come, both of you must be tired." Luna said. Frisk snuggles against Luna.
"We are..." Asgore yawned. Frisk has a small smile as she slept.
"Come, let me take you to your room." Luna said, turning around and walking down a hallway. Toriel follows. Asgore nods and follows alongside Toriel and plants a soft kiss on her cheek.
"I love you." He said. Toriel weakly smiles at him.
"I love you too." She said.
"Luna..." Frisk mumbles in her sleep, nuzzling Luna's chest. Frisk wakes up and sees Luna and smiles.
"Hi Luna." She said. She yawns and gets more comfortable in her arms. "I love you." She yawned. She gently hugs her around the neck and nuzzles her cheek. Luna smiles at her.
"Why is your chest wet?" Frisk asked.
"Well, you were noming on my fur a bit while you slept, that's why it's wet." Luna said.
"Oh...sorry..." Frisk giggles in embarrassment. Luna smiles.
"It's okay, Frisk." She said as she stops in from of a door. She looks at Asgore and Toriel. "Here's your room. And Frisk, do you want to stay with me, or Toriel tonight?" She asked.
"I think I'll sleep with you, Luna. You're super soft and comfy!" Frisk said, snuggling Luna's chest. Luna nods and looks over at Toriel and Asgore.
"I'll take good care of her." She said.
"Thank you." Toriel said.
"Good night mommy and daddy!" Frisk said. She waves to them as she's carried away by Luna. "I love you, Luna." She said happily. She hugs her gently. Luna smiles.
"I can't believe I'm saying this, but, I love you too, Frisk. You're so cute!" She said.
"Thanks!" Frisk said happily. She hugs tighter as they enter one of the guest suites.
"I can't believe I'm sleeping with YOU, co ruler of Equestria! And I'm a CHANGELING!" She giggles. "I like you a lot Luna!" She said. Luna nuzzles Frisk as she gets on her rooms bed.
"I like you a lot too, Frisk." She said. Frisk smiles, snuggling on top of Luna.
"Can you wrap your wings around me? Mamma always does." She said. Luna nods.
"Sure." She said and does what Frisk asked. Frisk smiles and nuzzles Luna's cheek.
"Good night best friend." She yawned. Luna warmly smiles at Frisk.
"Good night, Frisk." She said.
"Can I have a kiss?" Frisk asked. Luna nods and does what Frisk asked again.
"Thank you Luna." Frisk yawns. She smiles and curls up on top of Luna's chest, closing her eyes. Luna closes her eyes as well and falls asleep, her chest rising and falling slowly. Frisk gives off a slight purr as she sleeps. Asgore climbs into the large bed with his wife and son, holding them close.
"I just hope that Frisk will be okay." Toriel said.
"I'm sure Luna will keep her safe." Asgore said. He smiles warmly at Toriel and kisses her cheek softly.
"I have to be honest, you're really cute as a pony." He said. Toriel blushes slightly. Frisk snores lightly.
"Aww, thank you sweetie." Toriel said.
"My pretty mare." Asgore said. He smiles and holds one of her hooves in his.
"My pretty stallion." Toriel said.
"What if...we were to...have a foal?" Asgore asked. Toriel is surprised by Asgore's question.
"Are... are you sure, I mean, we have Asriel and Frisk." She said.
"As they say, the more the better." Asgore said, smiling. Toriel smiles as well.
"If... if that's what you want, then let's have another son or daughter." She said. Asgore smiles widely and hugs Toriel.
"Our first child as ponies in a long time." He said. Toriel hugs back. Asgore holds his wife close, cherishing finally being able to hold her again.
"I've missed holding you to much." He said as he pecks Toriel's cheek. Toriel looks at him with a wide smile.
"I miss holding you too." She said.
"I miss just seeing you, my beautiful wonderful mare." Asgore said happily. Toriel nuzzles him while smiling.
"Want me to rub your belly like I used to? Only...it won't be the same...I don't have fingers anymore." He said. Toriel giggles slightly, before yawning. She starts to nod off.
"If... you'd like." She yawned. Asgore smiles.
"Do you...ever wonder about Frisk...not this Frisk....the one back at home?" He asked. That got Toriel's attention.
"I do, I always wonder what she's doing, if she's fine and made friends, like what she made in the ruins." She said.
"You loved her as if she were your own?" He asked. Frisk turns over and wakes up and smiles at Luna's sleeping face, before laying back down. Toriel nods.
"I do, she made me very happy when she stayed." She said. Asgore sighs and turns away.
"To think I wanted to kill her..." he said in pain.
"I can tell that you didn't want to." Toriel said. Frisk gets off of Luna and tries quietly to trot out to the balcony and smiles, staring up at the moon. And unknown pony with a blue sweater stands behind Frisk.
"Hey kid, may I sit next to ya?" He asked.
"But still!!" He yells. Frisk backs away from the mysterious pony.
"L-luna!" She yelled in fear. Toriel places a hoof on Asgore.
"Asgore Dreemurr, we've already talked about this, you need to forget about the past." She said. Luna snorts, but doesn't wake. She rolls over onto her side.
"Woah, easy kid, I'm a friend of Toriel." The mysterious pony said.
"Leave me alone!" Frisk yelled. She cowers against the doorframe and tries again to call for Luna, but louder.
"LUNAAA!!!" She screamed. Luna wakes up with a start and hears Frisk scream her name. She gets out of bed and rushes towards where frisk is. She sees her standing alone on the balcony.
"Frisk, are you're you okay!?" She asked. Frisk runs to the safety of Luna and turns her head back to see the pony gone.
"Th-there was somepony there..." She said, scared. She hides behind one of Luna's forelegs. "You'll protect me right, Luna?" She asked. Luna pulls Frisk into a hug and nods.
"Yes Frisk, I'll protect you." She said. Frisk smiles, nuzzling Luna's chest.
"I love you, Luna." She said.
"I love you too, Frisk." Luna said.
"I really like it when you hold me." Frisk said happily. Luna smiles at her. Frisk snuggles closer to Luna. Luna warmly smiles at Frisk. Frisk smiles and begins to fall asleep.
"Love you...Luna..." She mutters, before falling asleep. Luna smiles back at Frisk and carries her back to the bed. Frisk mutters in her sleep. Luna lays on her back on the bed, placing Frisk on her chest. Frisk smiles. Luna closes her eyes and falls asleep, not knowing that the mysterious pony looked at them through the balcony door.
"Sleep tight kid, you'll need it." He said, before walking to the edge of the balcony and disappears.
Meanwhile, with Celestia
While the other's had long gone to bed, Celestia remained pacing back and forth through the hall, contemplating what to do with Frisk. The mysterious pony appears behind Celestia, leaning against the wall.
"Yo, sunny." He said. Celestia turned around.
"Whoes there!?" She yells.
"Over here." The mysterious pony said, waving hello at Celestia.
"How did you get in here!?" She yelled. Frisk begins to stir in her sleep.
"Woah, easy now, you don't want to blow my ears off would you." He said, just as a symbol crash came from somewhere. Celestia rolls her eyes.
"What do you want?" She asked. Frisk mumbles, tossing and turning for a short moment before settling back down.
"I heard what you said about returning Frisk." The pony said.
"And?" She said.
"It's a horrible idea." The pony said.
"And what might that be?" Celestia asked. Frisk is sleeping soundly on Luna's chest, curled up with her head under her chin.
"Because sending her back to that bug pony will only make her hate you and make her very sad." The pony said. Celestia sighs.
"It's what's best for her. I know Chrysalis is not the best pony around, but she obviously cares about her daughter." She said.
"But I won't allow that to happen. Toriel made me promise to protect Frisk, even if this Frisk isn't the frisk I know, I will still protect her. Even from you." The pony said. Celestia frowns.
"I'd never hurt the poor thing!" She says. The mysterious pony's permanent smile slightly dips. There's some slight anger in his voice.
"Then why send her back, if it will only hurt her and Toriel." He said. Celestia sighs.
"Look, I don't know who you are or how you got past the guards. I have enough troubles on my list, and I don't need you to be one of them, now scram!" She yelled. She turns back around and starts walking down the hall. The mysterious pony appears right next to her as she walks down the hall and walks right next to her.
"You better choose your next words wisely, because I don't take too kindly to monsters, or in this case ponies who would hurt my friends feelings, even if they are royalty." He warned.
"Is that a threat? Please, it's late at night, I need sleep, not death requests." Celestia said, deadpaning.
"Oh, it's not a death threat, it's a warning. So you better watch yourself, because I sorta have a bone to pick with you." He said, and the symbol crash came again from somewhere.
"Yeah sure, whatever suits you." She said sarcastically. She enters her room and locks the door, making the room magic proof so nothing can get in or out magically. The pony shakes his head and disappears. But before he does, he leaves one last message that sorta disturbs Celestia.
"You don't want to have a bad time." He said. Those words sent a shiver down Celestia's back. She shakes her head and rolls her eyes and gets into her bed. The pony reappears in Luna's room and looks at Luna and Frisk. His mood brightens as he looks at Frisk.
"You'll do great things kid." He said, then disappears. Frisk snorts awake and looks around the room, confused. Luna mumbles in her sleep. Frisk giggles a little. Luna hears the giggle and opens her eyes. She looks around in confusion.
"Wha?" She asked.
"You talk in your sleep." Frisk whispers with another giggle afterwards.
"Oh, um..." Luna said in embarrassment. Frisk nuzzles Luna's cheek, then gets an idea.
"Hey! Can we be like...sisters! Rainbow Dash and Scootaloo did!" Frisk says cheerily, hopping up and down on Luna's chest. "Oh I would love to be your little sis!" She said happily. Luna's eyes widen.
"But, we'll have to ask your mother though, and Celestia too, okay?" She asked.
"Mommy will be alright with it I know! But Celesia...she wants to send me away..." Frisk sniffed, looking down.
"Oh, come here." Luna said, pulling Frisk into a hug. Frisk hugs back.
"We can't be sisters if I'm gone..." She sniffed, tears starting to appear in her eyes.
"You won't let her send me awway, right?" She asked. Luna shakes her head.
"Never. I'll never let Celestia send you back to Chrysalis. Your a good little changeling." She said. Frisk smiles.
"I love you, big sis. I don't care what anypony says, you're a sister to me. And thanks." She said happily. She cuddles on Luna's chest, nestling in her fur. A tear appears in Luna's eyes. She smiles and nuzzles Frisk.
"I love you big sis." Frisk said, nuzzling back. More tears appear in Luna's eyes.
"I love you too." She said happily.
"Luna...are you crying?" Frisk asked. Luna wipes the tears from her eyes.
"It's just that, nopony has ever been this nice to me until I met your mother.
"Same here...now I've got a mommy, a daddy, frinds, a brother and now a big sister!" Frisk said, hugging Luna. "I love you so much, big sis!" She said happily, hugging tight. Luna hugs back.
"Little sister." She said. Frisk smiles happily at Luna and nuzzles her cheek.
"Now, let's go back to bed." Luna said.
"Okay sis!" Frisk said as she curls up more. "I wish I had fur like you ponies. I wouldn't be cold so much..." She said.
"If only could fined a way to turn you into a pony, so that my sister wouldn't send you back." Luna said.
"Mommy probably could, but..." Frisk said, then yawns. "Let's worry about it tomorrow, okay, sis?" She asked. Luna nods and lays on her back on the bed. Frisk lays down on the bed and gets covered in the sheets, waiting for Luna to hold her, smiling at her.
"You're the best sister I could ever ask for, Luna." She yawned. Luna pulls Frisk close to her and holds her close with a smile. Frisk smiles nuzzling her sister's chest and begins to fall asleep.
"Good night sister..." She yawns.
"Good night, Frisk." Luna said. As Frisk begins to fall asleep, she snuggles closer to Luna. Luna smiles at her, before falling asleep.
