//------------------------------// // Graduation and the Future // Story: Scootaloo's Life // by RuinQueenofOblivion //------------------------------// 9 years ago. Ever since Scootaloo turned 15 her life had just become more complicated, Rainbow and Fluttershy had gotten married just a few months ago. They were living together in Rainbow's house that was now attached to Fluttershy's cottage. Today was an important day for Scootaloo though, it was graduation day for her and her fellow students. Scootaloo sighed as she sat in her chair and waited for her name to be called, she could see her moms in the audience watching with their friends. She still couldn't fly, even after 18 years, Twilight Sparkle had even looked into it, but couldn't find any reason why she couldn't. Fluttershy had offered to let her help out around her cottage, but she wasn't sure, she wanted to do something to help Ponies in need. She remembered her parents, her real parents (not that she didn't love her adopted mothers), and all they did for Ponyville. She didn't want to admit it to anypony, but she still missed them a lot. "Scootaloo Dash," Cheerliee said as she read Scootaloo's name off of the list of ponies, to the cheer of the crowd. Scootaloo smiled and got to her hooves and walked up to the stage and was given her diploma. This was one of the proudest moments of her life, she had finally graduated from school. She waved a hoof as she walked off the stage and took her seat again. This was one of the happiest moments of her life. 00000 "Congrats Squirt, I knew you could do it!" Rainbow said as she gave Scootaloo a hug, they were at the graduation party. "Thanks mom," Scootaloo said. "But I couldn't do it without you." "Aww, it was nothing," Rainbow said with a sheepish grin. "Now come on, go have fun with your friends." Scootaloo nodded and headed back into the crowd where she nearly bumped into a blue Pegasus stallion her age. "Oh, sorry," she said. "No, it was my fault," the stallion said as he helped Scootaloo up. "I don't think I've seen you around Ponyville before," Scootaloo said, straightening herself out. "I'm from Manehattan," the stallion said. "My cousin graduated today, so we came to watch." "Oh, I see," Scootaloo said before offering a hoof as she looked him in the eye, she nearly melted on the spot. "Ummm... I'm Scootaloo Dash." "Sky Walker," Sky Walker said with a smile as he shook the offered hoof. "Its nice to meet you, Scootaloo." "Thanks," Scootaloo said with a smile. "Its nice to meet you too." "So, do you have any plans for after graduation?" Sky Walker asked. Scootaloo paused a bit at that, she wasn't quite sure what she wanted to do just yet. "I, don't know yet to be honest." "Well, I hope you figure it out," Sky Walker said. "As for me, I'm entering the police academy in the fall. Manehattan's always in the need for more police, maybe you should consider it." Scootaloo perked up a little at that, that was an interesting idea to be sure. Plus Sky Walker was kinda cute. She would certainly think about it, besides, it would be a great way to help Ponies. "I'll think about it," Scootaloo said. 00000 It was later that night when they finally got home, Scootaloo was tired, but she wanted to talk to Rainbow and Fluttershy about something first. "There's, something I want to ask you both about..." Scootaloo said nervously. "What is it, Squirt?" Rainbow asked, Fluttershy looked at her curiously. "Well, umm, I've been thinking lately, and I want to do, something to help other Ponies now that I'm done with school," she said. "And I met a young Stallion today..." "Oh does little Scootaloo have a crush?" Rainbow said in a teasing way. "Geez mom, not like that... okay, maybe a little like that..." Scootaloo said with a blush. "But seriously, I was thinking, maybe I could, become a Police Officer." The two older Pegasi exchanged glances, they hadn't expected her to say that. Scootaloo looked nervous, she didn't want them to be mad at her. "Scootaloo, if that's what you want to do, we're behind you all the way," Fluttershy said with a smile. "Right Rainbow?" "Yep, I think you'll make a great cop, Scootaloo," Rainbow Dash said with a smile as she hugged Scootaloo. "Just promise me that you'll be okay." "I promise," Scootaloo said with a smile. "I'll be careful." "Now come on, get to bed," Rainbow said and ushered Scootaloo back up the stairs before turning back to Fluttershy. "I still say its partially to impress a boy you know." "Probably," Fluttershy said. "But, she's got a good heart, she's still doing this for the right reasons." "I know, we did a great job raising her," Rainbow said and gave her wife a kiss. "Thank you Fluttershy, I couldn't have done it without you." "Of course Rainbow," Fluttershy said as she nuzzles Rainbow. "Come on, lets get to bed." Rainbow smiled and the two headed upstairs to their bedroom.
