//------------------------------// // What's this? // Story: Against the Shadows // by DazzleMLP84 //------------------------------// The next afternoon, at the Cakes. Adagio, Sunset, and Twilight sat in a corner booth, drinking frappuccinos. This would be one the few times they would get to do this before they would go to college. "Now, this is nice. Right guys? Too bad everyone else was too busy to join us. " Sunset stated. "Yeah, it was really a good idea to go here, Adagio. With us all going to college soon." Twilight replied. "That wasn't the only reason, I wanted to do this. I want to talk about something with you guys." Adagio responded. "Well, what is the reason then?" "I had a nightmare last night." "Adagio, I thought we got over with Ruby back in junior year." Sunset replied. "It wasn't her, it felt more like a cry for help. From a twelve year old girl, the same age I was turned. She looked terrified, and tired. She said that some people are after her, and I knew one of them. Then she started to say protect me like you and dad have promised me. Then she sank in her own shadow. The whole protect me like you and dad promised still confuses me. Why would she say that? I haven't met a single twelve year old girl that looked like her. Also you and dad, why in the world would she add that?" Adagio explained as she started to panic. "Okay, calm down. What did the girl look like?" "She looked a lot like me with shorter hair in a side ponytail, and without my yellow streaks. She also had darker orange streaks instead. She was wearing a dark pink hoodie over a light pink shirt with a heart on it. She also had on light grey shorts, light pink leggings, and short silver UGG boots." "Okay, no offense Adagio. But that sounds an awful like your future dream child, for you and Flame Charge." Twilight commented. "I'm not making her up. She looked like that." "Okay, so what was her name?" Sunset asked. "She wouldn't tell me." "More proof that she is your future child. Because if she told you her name you would know exactly what your child's name would be, when the time came." Twilight commented. "Okay, first off Twilight. Stop with all the future talk. You are starting to sound like a person from a time travel movie. And second off, I'm pretty sure that she is not..." Adagio said as Allegro walked through the doors and headed to the counter. "....my future child." Allegro headed back to a booth with a strawberry cream frappuccino in her right hand. She slowly sat down as she took out her phone and earbuds. She put them in as she started to listen to music. Adagio had a shocked look on her face as she stared at Allegro. Allegro looked back at her a weird look and looked back at her phone. "She looks exactly like the girl from my dream, but if she was my future child shouldn't she be in the future. Unless there is a way for time travel, which I don't even know if it is possible." "There probably is a way, because I bet someone invented time travel in the future." Twilight explained. "Okay, Twilight. Can you please stop before you make Adagio go insane?" Sunset asked. "Fine!" "Adagio, for right now I think you should file your dream in storage. Because that really shouldn't be what you are worrying about. The last time you worried about a dream, let's just say that you were in a dressing room with a cut on both your arm and leg. You still have the scars to prove it." "Okay. But that wasn't because of the dream, Sunset. What really happened was I broke the mirror and two shards happened to cut my arm and leg." Adagio replied. "That doesn't matter. What matters you got hurt. You know what let's just go and get our dresses for graduation. Luckily tomorrow is Friday, so it should be laid back." "Okay, let's go!" The three girls left the cafe, leaving Allegro alone in the booth in the corner. As soon as Allegro heard the door click she gave a sigh of relief. "That was so close. I'm just glad Sunset stop my mom from realizing that I really am her future child. I guess my mom was hiding more things besides that she is the original princess of the crystal empire. I've always wondered why she had those scars on her leg and arm. I just assumed that Ruby caused those." Allegro said to herself, sipping her strawberry and cream frappucino. Suddenly the door to cafe open and another twelve year old stepped in. She had red hair with hot pink and gold streaks in ponytail. Her skin was an amber color and she had piercing light green eyes. She was wearing a hot pink shirt with a rosette in the center, a blue jean skirt, and hot pink flats with gold straps. She also had a rosette in her hair. As she walked up to the counter, Allegro stared at her with a look of recognition. The girl slowly walked toward Allegro with a caramel frappucino. She sat down next to Allegro and stared back at her. "Summer, when I told you I was going back in time for a week, I didn't ask if you wanted to come with me." Allegro said to the girl. "Please, as if I'm going to let my best friend go back in time without me." Summer replied. "Please, just tell me that you didn't tell Twyla. Because she would probably freak out." "No, I'm the only one who knows anything about this." "Good and it'll stay like that. Also, Summer how did you get here without your parents noticing?" "Well, my parents work late so I just locked the door to my room from the inside and sneaked out the window locking it after I left." "Okay, but when you get grounded for sneaking out it'll be your problem not mine." "What about you miss perfect shouldn't you be more worried? With the fact how worried your parents will be when they get home from their business trip and they don't find you watching TV, eating cherry friendship dip?" "Chill out. I'll be home before they come back, and it'll be like nothing happened." "Yeah, yeah." "Well since you're here, I guess you can stay in my hotel room with me." "Okay, lead the way." The girls took their drinks as they headed off to the hotel. When they finally arrived, Sunny Flare looked at Allegro and Summer with a questioning look on her face. "Allegro, who is this?" She asked. "This is my best friend, Summer Starlight. She bumped into me into the cafe. Is it okay if she stays with me in my room?" Allegro asked. "Well, I guess it's fine because you already paid money." "Thanks, Sunny Flare. See ya." Allegro said as Summer and her headed off to the elevator. Allegro pushed the nine button as they went up. "How do you know her?" Summer asked. "I think she competed against your mom in the friendship games. She was a part of the skating team."
