The elements of Harmony (minus Fluttershy) are all gathered in the castle of harmony throne room, Twilight has an image of the black book that had been stolen last night floating in the middle of the table. Twilight sits silently flipping through summoning volume 5, with a frown on her face, Applejack nods along as Pinkie Pie whispers in her ear, while making crazy hoof gestures, that resemble a wrecking ball. Rarity and Rainbow Dash sit in their chairs chatting with each other, occasionally Rarity will laugh at something Rainbow Dash says. Twilight closes the book and looks up at her friends.
"Okay so I've read every single word in all five books in the series before volume six, and it does not help at all."
"What are ya talkin' bout Twi?" Applejack asks pushing Pinkie Pie away from her.
"Yes Darling I thought you said they would hold some answer as to what Chrysalis is trying to do?" Rarity inquires gesturing toward the black book.
"I thought it would, but each volume is completely separate from the others only having to do with the spells within their own pages." Twilight says placing her head on the table.
"Come on Twilight you've read all these books there's got to be something you know that can help us." Rainbow Dash says waving off their worries with a swing of her hoof.
"All I know is that whatever she's up to it can't be good, each volume talked about something older and more dangerous creatures, I don't want to know what she wanted to summon from volume six." Twilight says slightly muffled by the table.
"Maybe we should consult the princess?" Rarity says placing her hoof to her chin.
"Why don't we just ask Discord?" All the elements turn to look at the pink party pony hanging upside down from the top of her chair. "I mean he's been alive for like ever maybe he knows something about the book, heck maybe he helped write it." Pinkie says swinging from side to side.
"I don't know. Discord never seems to give us the answers we need or even the ones we want." Twilight says lifting her head off the table.
"True but we need ta tell the Princesses about this as soon as possible." Applejack says putting her hooves on the table.
"You're right I'll send a letter to-" Twilight is cut off by a familiar belching sound, they all look at Spike who was just walking in the room when he spit out the letter. Twilight grabs the letter with her magic and brings it to her face, unraveling it she reads it quickly, two seconds later her face goes pale. "Rainbow go get Fluttershy."
"What?" Rainbow says raising an eyebrow.
"We're gonna need her." Twilight holds up the letter so the others can see, they all gasp.
Elements. Canterlot. NOW!
Minutes Later Outside Ponyville
Rainbow Dash fly's over the land at next to top speed (If she did a Sonic Rainboom she'd over shoot her target.) she sees Fluttershy's cottage in the distance and moves in, bursting through the front door while still in flight. She looks around the room and sees nopony except Angel bunny sitting by the fireplace nibbling on a carrot. Rainbow Dash fly's up stairs and sets her sights on Fluttershy's bedroom door.
"Flutters wake up we gotta go!" Rainbow Dash yells bursting in the door, Fluttershy and Discord both sit up in surprise, Rainbow Dash looks over her shoulder out the door while pointing." Come one Twilight's waiting for-" Rainbow Dash looks back at Fluttershy who is now alone in her bed, a big nervous smile plastered on her face, sweat dripping down her face.
"Good morning Rainbow, what brings you here." Fluttershy says her smile not wavering as her eyes dart about avoiding eye contact.
"W-was that Discord?" Rainbow Dash asks her eye twitching and her mouth gaping open. More sweat begins forming on Fluttershy's forehead.
"W-what o-of course n-not Rainbow Dash, don't be silly." Fluttershy says waving her hoof frantically and laughing nervously. Rainbow Dash just looks at her friend then shakes her head. Can't worry about that now we're in a rush.
"C'mon Flutters we gotta go, Celestia needs us in Canterlot right away." Rainbow Dash says pointing out the door. Fluttershy's nervous smile fades away as she hears this.
"Oh okay I'm coming." Fluttershy says throwing her blanket to the side and hopping of the bed. As they make their way to the stairs, Fluttershy looks back at her bed one more time, a smile and a blush appearing on her face.
Minutes Later Ponyville Train Station.
Four of the elements of Harmony are gathered, Rarity is sniffing some tye-die roses she has, Twilight and Applejack are talking near the gate, while Pinkie Pie seems to be trying to roll into a ball pulling her hair to try and make herself a perfect sphere. they all turn to look as two Pegasi land nearby.
"Hey guys sorry we're late I had to get lazy bones here out of bed." Rainbow says gesturing toward the other Pegasus, Fluttershy looks down embarrassed.
"Sorry everyone, I uh went to bed late." Fluttershy says rubbing her right hoof with her left.
"No problem sugar cube." Applejack says with a smile.
"Yeah it's not a problem." Twilight reassures.
"No problemo Fluttershy." Pinkie Pie chirps.
"Hey Rare you ok." Rainbow Dash asks, putting her hoof on Rarity's shoulder, Rarity stares at Fluttershy specifically at a certain accessory her less fashionable friends have failed to notice. Rarity looks at Rainbow Dash and puts her hoof up onto the hoof Rainbow Dash put on her shoulder.
"I'm fine dear." Rarity smiles at Rainbow Dash and then looks back at Fluttershy. "I'm just admiring Fluttershy's new necklace." Everypony looks and finally notice the gold ring hanging on a sliver chain around Fluttershy's neck. Everypony but Rarity and Rainbow Dash gasp.
"Oh my god Fluttershy that's beautiful." Twilight exclaims smiling.
"Yeah sugar cube that's real purty."
"Oh my gosh did Discord make that himself?" Pinkie Pie jumps up and down an inch in front of Fluttershy's face. Everypony else's eyes widen.
"W-wha- h-how did you know?" Fluttershy asks her face turning beet red.
"Duh silly it says so right here." Pinkie Pie lifts up the Ring and points to an engraving on the inside.
To My Best Friend Fluttershy, With Love Discord.
"Awww" Fluttershy says a gentle smile crosses her lips. She looks up at her friends, Rainbow Dash, Twilight and Applejack all look aghast, while Rarity shares Fluttershy's aw face, and Pinkie Pie continues jumping up and down happily. Lucky before her three disgruntled friends can ask any questions, a steel grey colored unicorn with a chrome colored mane and a caboose cutie mark, comes walking up to the Elements of Harmony, drawing all of their attention, the stallion wears a conductors hat.
"Hello ladies I am Iron Sprocket." He bows respectfully, the elements nod in greeting. "I am a private train conductor, I drive a smaller but faster train for important politicians and performers, I must say it is an honor to have the elements of harmony themselves aboard my train." Twilight blinks at him.
"What do you mean?" Twilight asks puzzled, Iron Sprocket glances at her in surprise.
"Oh I'm sorry I had thought the princess had told you, I'll be acting as your personal transport too and from Canterlot for awhile until some crisis is taken care of, My train is small only five cars counting the engine but, for only the six of you I hope it will be enough room." Iron Sprocket explains bowing once more, Rarity's eyes are shining.
"Well it's about time we started getting some special treatment." Rarity says running up to Iron Sprocket. "Now Darling where is this train of yours?"
"Oh it's that one over there on the second set of tracks." Iron Sprocket points to a small chrome engine with four cars hitched too it, each car is made of steel and chrome and painted with the Equestria flag.
"Oh it's lovely." Rarity squeals, she reaches to her side for one of her friends and she grabs the nearest hoof without looking , she smiles while dragging Rainbow Dash off toward the train. "Come on Rainbow my dear." The other elements all laugh and follow after them.
Iron Sprocket gives them a quick tour of the train the rear car is a storage room for all their luggage, the third and second cars have a small hallway and three private rooms each, the car right behind the engine is the dining car with a small kitchen corner. The elements each take a room and store what few things they brought, before heading to the dining room to eat the small meal Iron Sprocket has prepared. Twilight gazes out the window as her friends eat. This train is much faster then the common train, we'll get to Canterlot twice as fast in this thing. Twilight glances over at Fluttershy and looks at the necklace around her neck, Twilight raises a hoof to speak, but Fluttershy speaks first.
"Oh this wheat soup is so delicious." Fluttershy says smiling, she looks down at the soup. "Although some cinnamon would make it perfect." As she finishes that thought a bottle of cinnamon suddenly appears above her bowl, and sprinkles some into her soup and then disappears into smoke that smells of pine trees. Everypony looks around for the Draconequus but they don't see him anywhere.
"What the hay just happened?" Applejacks asks an eyebrow raised at Fluttershy.
"Yes it's not like Discord to hide himself when he does something like that." Rarity says before taking a sip of her tea, Twilight leans forward and looks at Fluttershy.
"Is there anything else you want Fluttershy?" Twilight asks bluntly, Fluttershy looks at her startled by her question.
"What do you mean Twilight?" Fluttershy asks avoiding her gaze.
"I want you to wi-" Twilight gets cut off by Iron Sprocket opening the door to the engine car.
"Whoa is it hot in there, darn vents busted gotta get a screwdriver to fix it, any of you got some water I could have? I'm parched." Iron Sprocket says this while fanning himself with his hat, suddenly there's a small rumble and Iron Sprocket looks up to see a rain cloud has formed over his head, rain starts pouring out of it onto his head. He puts back on his hat and looks confused at the elements. "Well not quite what I had in mind but thanks anyway." He walks off toward the storage car the rain cloud follows him but disappears as he leaves the train car, the water on the floor quickly evaporates into flower petals.
"Ok so what did that guy do to get on Discord's bad side?" Rainbow Dash asks pointing at where Iron Sprocket had gone.
"I don't know my dear although that was rather tame for him wasn't it?" Rarity gestures to the room, "No mess."
"It wasn't Discord." Everypony looks at Twilight when she says this, Twilight raises a hoof at Fluttershy. "It was Fluttershy."
"What?!" Everypony gasps.
"It's the ring he gave her it must contain part of his magic." Fluttershy looks down at her necklace So that's what he meant when he said part of him would be with me. Twilight continues, "Somehow Fluttershy can tap into the rings magic when she wants something, like seasonings in her soup or cooling some pony off."
"Woowee that is one mighty fine gift." Applejack says whistling at the necklace in question.
"I knew it! I knew it! I knew that ring was special!" Pinkie Pie shouts, hopping up and down in her chair.
"We'll have to tell Princess Celestia about that too, see if it could be dangerous." Twilight says bluntly, Fluttershy looks at Twilight in surprise.
"What? Discord wouldn't give me something dangerous."
"Not on purpose I'm sure but with magic like Discord's you can't be too careful, you should probably take it off unti-." Twilight is interrupted once more.
"No!" Fluttershy shouts a little louder then she had wanted to, her friends all flinch at her sudden out burst. "I'm not going to take it off."
"But what if you accidently-" Twilight begins by raising her hoof but clamps her mouth shut as she sees a fire in Fluttershy's eyes.
"I'm not taking it off." Fluttershy glares at Twilight, who just chuckles nervously. The rest of the ride to Canterlot was spent in peace talking about their up coming mission or stories of the past but the matter of the necklace wasn't brought up again.
In The Deepest Bowels Of Tartarus
"Are we there yet?" Chrysalis groans, while walking next to Sombra on the brimstone floor, Sombra is grinding his teeth while his eye twitches.
"Almost." Sombra growls. "Same as the last eight times you asked that."
"But this place is soooo boring." Chrysalis whines, Sombra groans throwing his hoof into his face.
"Your just doing this to annoy me aren't you?" Sombra asks pinching his eye brows with his hoof.
"Maybe I am a little." Chrysalis says looking at her hoof as if checking a hooficure, she then sighs heavily. "But this place is really boring."
"Yeah it's really gone down hill since I was last here." Sombra looks around at the dark brimstone cave with chains hanging from the ceilings and stalagmites and stalactites placed all around so the path looks like a giant mouth. "Not a single screaming pony skeleton since we got here."
"Yeah I mean what is this, this is the big bad Tartarus my hive is scarier then this." Chrysalis laughs, Sombra grins.
"Yes and I've given people nightmares a hundred times worse then this." They both burst into laughter, after a minute Sombra and Chrysalis each wipe a tear from their respective eyes. Then Chrysalis looks down at Sombra in surprise.
"Are- are we bonding?" Chrysalis asks with a raised eye brow, Sombra glares at her.
"Of course not!" Sombra growls, he looks forward. "Now shut up we're there." Chrysalis blinks.
"Really how do you know?" Chrysalis looks forward and bumps into a large black object, she gazes up and sees three large black dog heads looking down at her. "Oh ok I guess Cerberus is a good indication that we're there.."
"Get back!" Sombra shouts yanking Chrysalis away from Cerberus's jaws that snap shut where she just was. Cerberus growls at them, and Sombra retorts with his own growl, Chrysalis blinks at Sombra again.
"You just saved me." Chrysalis states dumbly pointing a hoof at Sombra, he turns to look at her.
"Yeah now we're even." Sombra says coldly before jumping back to avoid a swipe of Cerberus's paw.
"So what's the plan?" Chrysalis asks buzzing into the air.
"You see about freeing Tirek I'll handle Fido, Spot , and Lucky here." Sombra growls and then disappears into the shadows, and then remerges in his giant form, snarling at Cerberus. The three headed dog leaps at Sombra biting for his neck with all three heads, Sombra's body curves around Cerberus's jaws, Sombra bites down on Cerberus's right neck and pulls Cerberus away and then heaves Cerberus into the cavern wall, Sombra charges forward with his horn aiming at Cerberus's chest, Cerberus kicks out with his paw slamming into Sombra's head, sending Sombra reeling in pain, before he can recover Cerberus bites into Sombra's ethereal body causing black blood to pool under Cerberus's fangs. Sombra growls in pain, he stretches out some of his black body forming It into a larger version of his hoof but this one holds one of his knifes, with a quick stab he plunges the blade into Cerberus's side the beast howls in pain releasing it's grip on Sombra's neck, taking the chance Sombra slash's Cerberus's middle head with his horn and then slams his head into Cerberus sending the beast flying into a near by wall.
Meanwhile Chrysalis has found her way to Tirek's cage and looks in at the Creature inside, a red frail old centaur-type creature looks up at her glaring with piercing eyes. Chrysalis pretends to gag at the sight of the creature but frowns when he doesn't seem to care.
"Hello there my name is Queen Chrysalis and you're going to help me take over Equestria." Chrysalis grins at her soon to be partner, who just looks back at her in surprise.
"Get straight to the point don't you?" Tirek says rubbing his chin.
"I pride myself on being blunt." Chrysalis says nonchalantly Of course I could've been less blunt when I was pretending to be Cadence but oh well.
"So you're here to free me?" Tirek asks a wicked smile appearing on his lips.
"Yes we have need of your talents if we hope to win the day." Chrysalis says studying the lock on his cell.
"I don't need help taking over Equestria." Tirek says smugly, Chrysalis looks at Tirek with a bored look.
"Bold words for a guys who lost after getting help from an all powerful chaos god." Chrysalis says smugly, Tirek stammers but then glares at her. Chrysalis blasts the lock with a beam from her magic and then the cell opens, Tirek steps out of the cell and turns to Chrysalis who is suddenly holding a large black book with her magic, Tirek opens his mouth to speak, but Chrysalis swings the book at him.
"Stop!" Sombra's voice interrupts Chrysalis's attack as she turns to look at him, Sombra crashes to the ground nearby standing on top of an unconscious Cerberus. "We need him awake so he can feed."
"Oh alright." Chrysalis turns away from Sombra and pouts, Tirek looks at Sombra quizzically.
"Feed? Feed on what?" Sombra gestures his hoof at the large unconscious three headed dog beast next to him. Tirek grins as he steps forward and sucks the energy out of Cerberus, while he does that Chrysalis leans over to whisper in Sombra's ear.
"I know what your thinking Sombra." Chrysalis whispers with a grin.
"And what's that?" Sombra asks looking at her out of the corner of his eyes.
"You plan on having Tirek feed on me so I won't have power over you anymore." Sombra Flinches. " I see I hit money, don't worry though you can keep your little energy sucker but remember, I revived you so we're connected. If I lose my magic, what will happen to my new little bosom buddy?" Sombra's eyes widen.
"What kind of resurrection spell did you use?" Sombra asks glaring at Chrysalis.
"That's something you'll have to figure out on your own." Chrysalis walks past Sombra and flips her tail in his face, and then raises the book once more as she sneaks up on Tirek, who has begun laughing manically. Sombra just stands there deep in thought thinking over what Chrysalis had said. I'll have to think of a different way around her. He face hoofs when he hears the smack of the book and the sound of Tirek falling over, Sombra groans as he walks over to transport Tirek back to the Hive.
Meanwhile with Discord Wherever He Is
Discord is just sitting on a tree looking out over the Equestrian landscape when he feels the all to familiar imbalance of magic that can only mean one thing, he glares out in the direction the imbalance came from. Chrissy why did it have to be Tirek.
Canterlot Castle Secret War Room
The room is a simple circle shaped room with a large glass dome ceiling letting in the light of the sun, a large round table with a dozen chairs sits in the middle of the floor. Celestia and Luna sit on the left side, the six elements of harmony sit on the right, Celestia's concern is obvious and Luna looks nervous as well. But not nearly as nervous as Twilight does, the other element's are calm enough even though Fluttershy keeps looking at the table. Pinkie Pie smiles and seems oblivious to the whole situation.
"We decree this meeting shall commence now." Luna says breaking the tension in the room.
"Yes sister you are right." Celestia turns to Twilight. "Sombra has been revived." Twilight's face sinks.
"At present the identity of his summoner is unknown but we shan't stop unti-" Luna speaks proudly but is soon interrupted.
"It's Queen Chrysalis." Twilight says hanging her head. Celestia and Luna blink at her.
"Twilight how do you-" Celestia begins.
"She broke into my castle and tricked Spike into giving her the summoning book volume six." Twilight looks up at her mentor with a sad look in her eyes.
"Wonderful, Chrysalis has revived Sombra. I don't know how it could get any worse." Celestia says placing her hoof to her forehead.
"Pardon me, but where is Discord?" Celestia looks up at the sound of her sisters voice, and then searches the room for the Draconequus.
"Yes where is he? I would think he'd have come with you." Celestia asks, continuing her search, Fluttershy frowns down at the table, Oh no.
"I ain't seen him since yesterday." Applejack says scratching her head.
"Yeah none of us have seen him since he-" Twilight pauses her eyes growing wide. "Since he 'fought' Chrysalis." Oh no, oh no, oh no Celestia and Luna gasp, the other elements (minus Fluttershy) gasp as they realize what Twilight meant.
"So you believe Discord could be cooperating with Chrysalis and Sombra,?" Luna asks her eyes narrowing.
"Well he did say he ran into Chrysalis, the day before she stole my book and now he's nowhere to be seen." Twilight says deep in thought.
"It would seem Discord might not be as reformed as we might think, we must prepare to impri-" Celestia suddenly stops talking as her mouth is zipped shut. Everypony in the room gasps at this.
"DISCORD COME OUT HERE THIS INSTANT, OR THOU SHALL FACE MY WRATH!" Luna screams in her Canterlot voice. The elements all turn to look at Fluttershy who has hidden her face behind her mane. Twilight looks at Celestia who is trying to undo the zipper while Luna fly's up into the air searching for the culprit.
"Fluttershy!" Twilight shouts at her friend, Fluttershy yelps but moves her face out of her mane to look at her friend, the princesses look at them puzzled. "Undo it." Twilight points to Celestia, who tilts her head in confusion. Fluttershy sighs and grabs hold of her necklace and breathes deeply, Celestia's mouth unzips revealing the frown she's wearing. The elements of harmony all avert their gaze from the princess, who looks between Twilight and Fluttershy frowning with a stern expression on her face.
"Explain." Celestia states in a demanding tone. Twilight looks up nervously.
"Well Discord gave Fluttershy a necklace that contains Chaos magic." Twilight gestures to Fluttershy who stares at the table. " And now she can use it when she wants something, although she doesn't have complete control over it." Celestia's eyes widen, she turns to face Fluttershy.
"Fluttershy you must remove that necklace immediately." Fluttershy looks up in surprise at Celestias stern voice.
"Wha-what? Why?" Fluttershy stammers out.
"I concur." Luna says gesturing toward Fluttershy "Until we know we can trust Discord, you can not wear that."
"B-but I promised I'd never take it off." Fluttershy says turning toward Princess Luna.
"You must! We can not trust Discord ri-" Celestia begins, but is cut off by Fluttershy slamming her hooves on the table, Causing everypony in the room to flinch.
"Yes we can! We've always been able to!" Fluttershy shouts glaring at the princess, the ring on her neck glowing gold, a storm cloud starts forming in the air above the table occasionally sparking with lightening. "He didn't betray us! If you actually paid attention you'd notice all he did was planned from the start, so that everyone could get their magic back!" Lightening strikes the center of the table surprising everyone, except Fluttershy. Celestia locks eyes with Fluttershy.
"Remove the necklace Fluttershy." Celestia threatens, her eyes narrowing at the Pegasus, who wavers for a moment but then returns her gaze.
"No." Fluttershy says lighting strikes once more charring the center of the table, suddenly the storm cloud vanishes as Fluttershy's ring stops glowing, with a click, she gazes down to see a pair of hoof cuffs with symbols in them have been placed on her hooves. The other elements gasp at Princess Luna whom stands right next to Fluttershy gazing down at her. Fluttershy looks around in surprise at her hooves and then the charred mark in the center of the table. She feels Luna nudge her fore leg and looks up at the princess who then gestures toward the door. Fluttershy stands up and follows Princess Luna out of the room. Tears begin forming in the corners of her eyes as she heads out the door, I think I just made things worse. As the door closes silence takes over the room, as everyone looks around uncertain what to do or say next. After a few minutes of silence it's Applejack's turn to slam her hooves on the table.
"What in tarnation just happened?" Applejack exclaims looking to Celestia for an answer., Celestia turns to look at the element of honesty.
"We have placed Fluttershy under house arrest until we can determine that she and Discord are not a threat." Celestia says firmly, causing the elements to gasp.
"B-but Princess Fluttershy didn't mean any harm." Twilight says looking frantic. "I don't know what came over her, bu-"
"It was Discords magic." The element all stare at Celestia as she interrupts Twilight. "Having an artifact with such power on her has made Fluttershy's emotion more powerful, her angry at us for not trusting Discord was far more intense then it normally would've been." Celestia looks around at the elements of harmony. "Until she can control herself she is just as dangerous if not more dangerous then Discord himself."
"So why don't we just take it off her? no more necklace, means no more magic right?" Rainbow Dash asks, waving a hoof nonchalantly.
"That won't work it is a chaos artifact only Fluttershy can remove it once it is placed around her neck." Celestia looks at the elements who all stare back in surprise.
"Then what are we going to do?" Twilight asks, looking distraught.
"You and Applejack shall help Fluttershy gain control of her new abilities." Celestia points her hoof at Twilight and then to Applejack, both look surprised. "I believe Twilight's ability in magic and Applejack's calm demeanor will be the most valuable tools to helping Fluttershy gain control over the chaos magic." Twilight and Applejack nod their heads, Luna finally returns to the room taking her spot by her sister, everypony nods in greeting.
" What should we do then your highness?" Rarity asks gesturing to herself, Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie, Celestia smiles at them.
"I need you two." She points at Rarity and Rainbow Dash. "To go to the Crystal Empire and inform them of what's happening, and see if Cadence and Shining Armor can offer any assistance."
"You got it Princess." Rainbow Dash salutes at the Princess. Celestia turns in Pinkie Pie's direction and is greeted by two giant blue eyes mere inches from her face, Celestia jumps back in surprise.
"What do I get to do!? What do I get to do!?" Pinkie Pie shouts her smile growing bigger, Celestia sighs heavily.
"Pinkie Pie I'm afraid I have to give you the most dangerous job of them all." Celestia says looking at Pinkie Pie's big eyes that only seem to get more excited.
"With your Pinkie sense, flexibility, and general weirdness I believe you are the only one who can do this job." Pinkie Pie begins vibrating in anticipation.
"I need you too-" Pinkie Pie's smile can't get any wider.
"Find Discord." Celestia finishes, Pinkie Pie's smile turns into and tiny circle and her eyes shrink to a portion of their original size.
"Huh?" Pinkie Pie utters sweat appearing on her fore head.
Changeling Hive Throne Room.
Sombra comes walking into the throne room and nods his head at Chrysalis who returns the gesture, before returning her attention to the centaur standing in front of her. Sombra joins Tirek at the bottom of the stairs that led up to the throne.
"So your really giving me my own battalion of changeling's." Tirek asks raising his eyebrow at Chrysalis, who smirks down at her comrade.
"Of course! You're basically acting as one of my leadership cast of changelings although due to you not being a changeling you can only have twenty under your command at a time." Chrysalis gestures toward twenty changelings clinging to the nearby pillar, the changelings buzz over and land near Tirek bowing their heads to him, Tirek gives a wide grin and gives a deep laugh. Sombra glances at Tirek with a raised eyebrow, How did this guy trick Discord into teaming up with him? He doesn't even realize that the squad is so Chrysalis can keep an eye on him. Sombra feels eyes on him and turns to see Chrysalis standing right in front of him a smug smile on her face.
"What?" Sombra asks glaring at her, Chrysalis places her hoof up to her mouth and giggles.
"A little jealous are we Sombra? Can't say I blame you after all you were my first teammate and yet I give Tirek a squad first." Chrysalis says, before throwing her hoof over her face. "Oh I'm such a terrible friend can you ever forgive me!?"
"Chrysalis..." Sombra begins placing his hoof to his face, then he stops short. Why hasn't she given me some changeling's? I know she knows she doesn't have to worry about weather I trust her or not, but it actually is a sound plan to have your comrades have some troops to assist them with their plans so why-. Sombra is interrupted from his thoughts when a feminine voice calls out.
"Lord Sombra!" Sombra looks at the source of the voice and sees a tall thin female changeling buzzing toward him through the air, with her purple cobweb hair in a braid hanging to the side of her face, the changeling stands a bit taller then the lord of shadows, shorter then Chrysalis but still very tall. Her thin frame makes her look extremely fragile, Sombra ponders how she could be a leadership class when she looks so incapable of fighting when he recognizes her from Chrysalis's tour of the hive.
"Ah Captain... Night Fly was it?" Sombra asks turning his body to look at her as she lands in front of him, a grin on her face.
"Aw my lord you remembered me!" Night Fly giggles at him, Sombra rolls his eyes and then notices that Night Fly is holding a letter in her purple magic.
"What's that?" Sombra asks gesturing toward the letter. Night Fly looks at the letter and then gasps remembering why she was looking for Sombra in the first place.
"Well sir I was supervising some drones as they cleaned your chambers, a letter appeared in a puff of black smoke so I brought it here as soon as I could." Night Fly floats the letter over to Sombra, who grabs it with his hoof and tears it open with his horn using his magic he unfolds the message inside, as he reads a frown appears on his face, at the end of the letter his face is a weird mix of annoyed and pleased. Chrysalis leans over his shoulder to try and read the letter, but Sombra destroys the letter with black fire from his horn, Chrysalis frowns at him.
"My, my keeping secrets are we?" Chrysalis asks raising an eyebrow, Sombra chuckles.
"Not quite, I'll tell you what the letter said." Sombra turns to look at the Queen. "After all the information from my friend in Canterlot is for all of us." Chrysalis and Tirek stare at Sombra in surprise.
"You have somepony inside Canterlot?" Tirek asks in shock.
"You have a friend!?" Chrysalis nearly shouts in amazement, Sombra just face hoofs at this comment.
"It's just an expression, its just a fellow darkness user." Sombra groans, " Anyway they sent us some valuable information, they didn't go into specifics about everything but it's mostly good news."
"Okay like what?" Chrysalis asks raising an eyebrow.
"Discord is not working with the Princesses, matter of fact they think he's working with us, they know about me, but don't know about Tirek." Chrysalis grins at this information. "Three of the elements are stuck in Canterlot for the time being and the other three have been sent on special missions, the pink one left immediately, my contact has no idea where she's going other then she's looking for Discord. We'll ignore her for now, the other two are headed to the crystal empire to request aid, they leave in two hours." Tireks ears perk up at the news.
"Hmm what should we do?" Chrysalis asks tapping her hoof on her chin.
"We do nothing for now." Sombra says a smug grin appearing on his face. Chrysalis raises an eyebrow at him.
"What? but their forces are divided we should strike now shouldn't we?" Chrysalis asks a frown forming on her lips, Sombra shakes his head.
"While divide and conquer is a good plan theirs a certain wild Draconequus we need to deal with first." Chrysalis's eyes widen in realization. "Until he's taken care of we can't make any plans, he's a wrench we do not want in our plan."
"Your majesty?" Night Fly chimes in.
"Discord knows about Tirek but he probably doesn't know about me, if we have Tirek leave and drain someone maybe Discord would come here to stop you while he's gone." Sombra rubs his chin in thought.
"My lady?"
"Hmm yes then while I battle him, you can surprise him, taking him out of the equation for good." Chrysalis says a smirk across her face.
"Sire?"
"But there's no guarantee that Discord will wait for Tirek to-"
"Your highness?" Chrysalis and Sombra turn toward Night Fly.
"WHAT!?" They shout in unison, Night Fly flinches in surprise her purple eyes wide in terror, slowly she clears her throat and then points across the room.
"Tirek is gone." Chrysalis and Sombra turn to look where Night Fly is points, they both face-hoof, and sigh deeply as they notice that Tirek and his squad of changelings have vanished.
"Great now we have that to deal with." Sombra groans, he turns to look at Chrysalis who has closed her eyes in concentration, she opens her eyes and a grin appears on her face.
"Never mind him he's just going to board a train, more importantly a guard just informed me we have a very tall guest. Coming to see us." Sombra gains a sinister grin to match Chrysalis's.
"Well then." Sombra begins fading into the shadows. "Let's prepare our surprise." They both begin to laugh manically.
