//------------------------------// // 3: Prologue: Midnight // Story: A Midnight Eclipse // by SolarEclipse912 //------------------------------// January 16, Tuesday: 10:15 A.M. Sky Residence A couple houses away from Luna's home in Royal Street, was a house to a recently moved in family: the Sky family. Inside this new home, on the top floor, was a young lady named Midnight Sky, who had light yellow skin, brunette hair that went to her shoulders, amethyst purple eyes, and was currently wearing a white tank top with turquoise sweat pants. She was lying on her bed, writing in her personal diary covered with flower pictures and the words Midnight's Diary written in fancy cursive. Dear diary, Today's my 3rd day here at Canterlot, and tomorrow's gonna be my first day of school here. I'm so nervous, I hope we don't have another incident like last time. I hope it doesn't happen again, but I'm sure it won't. I have high hopes for tomorrow, I just hope I make a good first impression. I'll talk to you later on in the day. Bye! Midnight thought as she wrote down on the pages. She was closing up her diary when she heard her mother, Morning Sky, say with a British accent, "Midnight, breakfast is ready." With a hint of a British accent, she said, "I'm coming Mother." She quickly told her mother as she made her way to the dining table. There were three plates ready with pancakes, sausage, and biscuits with a bowl of gravy on the stove. Wow, Mom really out did herself this morning. Maybe she wanted me to have a big breakfast today. She thought as she sat down next to her mother, a gorgeous lady with a darker shade of yellow skin from Midnight's, lime green eyes, and wearing a turquoise robe with matching slippers, and her father, Night Sky, a tall man with light orange skin, sapphire blue eyes, and wearing a black t-shirt, and red pajama pants. "Good morning Midnight," Night Sky said, with an American accent, to his daughter with a smile on his face, "Were you finishing unpacking your room?" "Almost. I was able to get most of my clothes in my closet, along with unpacking most of my books." Morning giggled, "Oh Midnight. You and your books." She blushed as she turned to her mother, "Mom, you know how I am. I love books." Morning continued giggling, "Oh, I know sweetheart. I remember when you were 5 years old, and you were reading at least 3 books a day." She sighed, "Those were very happy memories." Midnight continued to blush as she continued to eat her breakfast in silence. Once she was finished, she took her plate and put it in the sink. "So, what are the plans for today? Are there any more boxes we need to unpack?" Midnight asked as she walked to the living room and sat down on the couch. Night was the first to respond, "All I can think of us to do is get the rest of the boxes unpacked, but some of them will be heavy. We may need some help from our neighbors." Midnight looked uncertain, "Are you sure? I mean we got most of the boxes ourselves, I think we can do it." Her father spoke, "Sorry, sweetheart, but I don't think we can do it on our own. We're all tired of lifting those heavy boxes. besides, this way we can get to know our neighbors a little better." "I suppose." Midnight said with a slightly depressed look. Her mom came up and gave Midnight a hug, "Hey. I know you don't like asking others for help, but no matter how strong you are, allies will always make you stronger." "I know Mom," Midnight sighed, "but I just don't want the same thing to happen to us like in Fillydelphia." Night went to her and pulled her in a loving hug, "I promise, Midnight, nothing like that will happen again. The people here are much more friendly, unlike those jerks at Fillydelphia." Midnight returned the hug, "Thanks Dad. I'll wait till someone comes home from school to help me out." "That's my girl." Night said as he finished his plate and went outside to read one of his books. 4:00 P.M. Sky Residence I wonder if my parents will let me go to a book store. Midnight thought as she read her book Game Of Thrones. I could really use some new books, maybe the complete Song of Ice and Fire series. I'll ask them later Midnight thought as she walked down her stairs and into the living room, where her parents were sitting down and watching TV. "Mom? Dad?" Morning turns around and sees Midnight, "What is it, sweetie?" "Do you think I could go to the book store and get me a few more books?" Morning smiles, "Not tonight, but maybe tomorrow, OK? You still need to get ready for school tomorrow." "I know Mom. I'll try and have everything ready. I just need to decide on what I'm going to wear." "I'm sure you'll find something nice." Night added. "I know, but I want to make a good first impression." "And you'll do just fine, sweetheart, I promise." Morning told her daughter as she pulled her in a hug. "There's no need to get so worked up." Midnight gladly returned the hug, "Thanks Mom. I just can't help but worry." Morning started to rub her back to try and calm her down. "I know sweetie. You'll do just fine here at Canterlot High. Who knows, you may even find you a nice boyfriend, or girlfriend." Midnight started blushing deeply, "Mom! I don't even want one yet! Though, a girlfriend would be nice." Morning giggled, "You'll get one honey, I know it, but please try and find a boyfriend, OK? I know you like girls too but you know how people are." "I know, Mom. I'll try, but I can't make any promises." Morning smiles, "That's all I ask of you." She kisses her daughter on her forehead, "Now why don't you read that book you got recently. What was it again?" "It's called Game of Thrones Mom, it's the first book in the Song of Ice and Fire series by George R.R. Martin." Morning giggled as she watched Midnight walk towards her room, "I'm so happy we were able to get this house. This should be a good home for her." Night came up to his wife and kissed her. "I couldn't agree more. I just hope the students at Canterlot High won't judge her, but I'm sure she'll be fine." He finished as he went back in the living room and turned on the TV as Midnight was in her room, reading her newest book.
