Against the Shadows

Spring Breeze

It half past noon at Canterlot High, and everyone was at their usual level eating and talking. Most of them were excited with summer vacation less than three weeks away. Everyone except Adagio. She slowly ate her leftover Cheese Ravioli, while she was looking down out at it. A light breeze came through the open window in the cafeteria, giving her a Chill. She tugged on her new white leather jacket trying to warm her up. She also had on a purple short dress with a gold belt, and purple lace up boots with gold laces. She still had on the necklace Rarity gave to her the night of the Moonlight Dance. Things have been calm since things were handled at the dance. Too calm.

"Adagio, Are you okay?" Sunset asked.

"Yes, I'm fine."

"Really, Darling? I know that look on your face. You must be worried about something."

"Um. Maybe it's the fact that we only have three weeks left of Canterlot High." Fluttershy replied.

"Fluttershy, since we are Seniors we get out a week early. So technically it's only two weeks." Twilight responded.

"Twilight, that doesn't mater that she got the weeks wrong. The point she was trying to get across was that we have a limited time before we are all going to be split up by college." Aria replied while playing a hand held ASI video game.

"That's not what I'm worried about, Guys. I don't even think I'm worried about anything. I just spaced out, okay." Adagio answered.

"We understand Adagio. Out of everybody here, you are one the few who shouldn't have to worry about that. While some of should be worrying more about this." Applejack replied while looking at Aria and Rainbow Dash.

"For your information, I got ten acceptance letters last week." Aria protested.

"And I got nine acceptance letters earlier this week." Rainbow Dash added.

"Yeah. While Adagio, Sunset, and Twilight each have around twenty-five acceptance letters. That have been coming in since four weeks ago." Applejack continued.

"Okay. Can you guys please stop comparing how many acceptance letters we have? It really doesn't matter! What matters is that we at least have some acceptance letters." Sunset cut in while leaving the table to dump her tray.

"Sunset is right. Why should any of us be worrying about this, when we all have at least an acceptance letter." Adagio joined her to dump her trash as well.

"That was pointless anyway. Oh, by the way Applejack, you made me loose my game." Aria replied.

"Well that's too bad!"

"Applejack, it's a bad sign when you make her lose her game. I know because I accidentally made her lose Poly Park 2, which is her favorite game." Sonata cut in.

"Sonata, I still don't forgive you for that." Aria commented.

"Oh come on! That was two weeks ago, plus you finished the game anyways."

"But, I had to start over!"

"Yeah, but at least you got to have more time to play your favorite game." Pinkie butted in.

"Okay, but that was the only plus side to that issue." Aria agreed.

Adagio and Sunset slowly took their seats, while joining back in the conversation.

"Okay, what happened while we were gone." Sunset asked.

"Nothing much, darling. Aria and Sonata were trying to resolve their issues from two weeks ago, when Sonata made Aria lose Poly Park 2."

"Oh my gosh. You guys still haven't resolved that." Adagio added.

"Actually, Adagio. Sonata and I finally resolved it." Aria protested.

"Okay, guys we really don't need to get into fights about small things." Sunset added.

Just than the bell rang. And everyone rushed to their lockers. Once Adagio got to her locker, she put in her combination and opened her locker. She lightly took out her light pink lip gloss. As she looked at herself in her mini mirror below many instapic selfies of her, Sunset and Twilight. She lightly applied her lip gloss and grabbed her accounting book. As closed her locker, her boyfriend Flame Charge was standing right in front of her.

"Hey, Princess." He greeted her.

"Hey, yourself."

"Okay, please tell me you don't have acceptance letters. Because I know some more Colleges to apply for."

"I have plenty, thank you very much."

"Okay, so you are all set for College. I guess all that's left to plan for our wedding."

"No, we are not going to talk about that until we both graduate from College first."

"Actually, I want be detective."

"Oh, you do?"

"Yeah, you know solve cases, save people, and bring people to justice."

"Well I guess if you want to that you can do that." Adagio said trying to walk towards her class.

"Hey, have your parents already started planning your graduation party?" Flame Charge asked stopping.

"Yes, they have. They already started getting decorations for the party, and the party isn't until two months from now. Even if though my father is disappointed that I decided not go back to Equestria. But, I going to let Cadence take care of it."

"Well, it really isn't their choice. Because you're eighteen now, so you have to make your own choices. And he is just going to have to accept it."

"Yeah, I know. I just don't like disappointing him since we just got reunited. Um, I better get to class."

"Okay, my little princess."

Adagio snickered as she started to walk towards to her next class. Flame Charge started to walk in the opposite direction. She walked into her class and took her seat. As she started to daydream about everything that had happened since that monster Ruby was taken to where she belonged. She had nothing to worry about. While everyone was either worrying about college or excited for summer, she was in a calm mood. She had her plan for the future that was just waiting to be carried out, even if that would mean her and her friends won't always be together, she still had a small sliver of hope that they would still be friends after college. Well of course she did, it's one of her personality traits.

"I guess, I was right. The future is bright I just had to wait for it." She thought to herself.
