The new filly

It was the first day of the summer term at the Ponyville School. Fillies from Ponyville gathered at the schoolhouse and would play on the beautiful fields and equipment, waiting for the school bell to ring to announce the start of the lessons. A group of 3 unicorn fillies were playing on the see-saw. Sitting on one side was a periwinkle colored unicorn with straw blonde hair and silky gold eyes. She looked down from her high place, as her friend kicked her back hooves up to push the see-saw up. The other filly was a soft pink unicorn with pink hair of 2 different shades and lime green eyes.

Sat on the grassy ground next to them was a pale blue-turquoise filly with purple hair and eyes, she was watching the see-saw jumped up and down as her friends played on it. They had a idea to switch between each other, since their was 3 of them and only 2 seats on the see-saw, at this moment the purple haired unicorn was the one, who had to sit out but she was getting bored. She frowned angrily, ears drooping a little as she muttered, getting louder as her continued to speak in a annoyed tone. ''Girls, can I go on now. Dinky, you been on for 5 minutes already. Switch with me!''

The periwinkle filly looked down at her friend, as she hop off the see-saw. She didn't give much warning to the pink unicorn, who had been at the top side. The see-saw shot downwards, as the unicorn cried off, holding tightly to the safety bar. She panted when her side hit the ground harshly, her flanks hurt severely as she glared at Dinky, who chuckled nervously. The unicorn snarled, as she almost rolled her eyes at her two friends. ''Din~ky. Never do that again without warning! You could have hurt me more then you d-'' She suddenly stopped as her eyes seemed to widen.

The other two blinked, glancing at each other, before looking to where their pink friend was looking. Coming through the gate of the playground was another filly, who was shaking abnormally. The filly's ears were drooped against her skull, as she looked around as if she was terrified of something about to happen. That 'something' was evident to happen when a aggressive looking colt walked towards the poor skittish filly.

''Ruby.....'' whispered Dinky, as she watched her pink friend sneak closer to the upcoming incident. She and her other friend followed close behind Ruby. Dinky's ears flared up as sounds of shaking hooves filled them. ''Tootsie, Ruby. Lets just watch for a second, we don't know if this will actually be bad.'' The other two nodded as they sat down in the nearby sandpit, watching and listening in to what happened between the 2 foals.

The colt stood in front of the young filly, his silver coat and gray mane giving him a rather dull look. Yet he stood there so smug, as his jade eyes stared down at the shaking unicorn. He was bigger then her in stature and height, so he loomed over her, casting a long shadow. ''So, what do we have here. Don't you know that new fillies aren't allowed in here! This is a playground for foals that have been here since day one, not you, who only came in last week. Oh, that reminds me, your introduction gave away that you were weak instantly.'' He somehow managed to crack his hooves as he walked even closer to her, as she whimpered back. ''Now, does the wittle bwaby fwilly want her mommy.'' The word 'mommy' seemed to make the filly jump more.

She whimpered, tears filling her eyes as she attempted to move back, only to fall over her back hooves. She sat on the floor, shivering and shaking at the sight of the colt. ''Foals like you piss me off.'' He raised his hoof, quickly swinging it back down. He contacted with her cheek, as the dam finally broke down and she began to sob openly, the hoof print on her face turning her cheek bright red. Her orange coat deeply contrasting with the reddening bruise. Her messy mint green hair hung in front of her eyes, as tears rolled from the glimmering gold orbs and down her cheeks, before splashing into the ground.

The colt attempted to punch the foal again, but a golden glow wrapped around his hoof; forcing it to stay still. He looked behind him, seeing that Dinky had gotten out of the sandpit, and was glaring at him, while her periwinkle horn was glowing in the same gold aura that his hoof was covered in. ''I will not allow you to hurt her anymore. The poor thing is terrified, can't you see that Silver Specter.'' She refused to turn out her magic as her two friends stood up, and walked over to the shivering filly; who had her eyes closed tight and didn't understand why the punch hadn't made contact.

Ruby helped the filly up, as she keep an eye on Dinky and Silver. She whispered into the unicorn's ear. ''It's gonna be alright.'' She gently attempted to straighten up the filly's violet and silver vest, only causing the orange filly to flinch away from her. Ruby attempted to say her apology. ''Oh, sorry. I didn't mean to frighten you.'' But it only resulted in the filly whimpered, and more tears seemed to leak from her golden eyes. ''Shh shh, it's alright. I'm really sorry, I'm not trying to hurt you.''

The filly simply whimpered, as she finally let Ruby and Tootsie come closer. The turquoise filly smiled as she gently patted the filly's head as Ruby hugged her, much to the filly's obvious discomfort. Tootsie attempted to smile and lighten up the mood, but saying. ''Your name is Banana Cream, right. The new student, who joined us last week?'' All she got was a weak nod, as Banana sank more into Ruby, seeming to trust the filly a lot; oddly.

Back with Dinky, who was still glaring at Silver. She was now stood protectively in front of her friends, her eyes shimmering with annoyance and anger. ''I suggest you leave us alone, Silver. Banana doesn't wish for you to talk to her. Now, leave. I actually think your girlfriend is calling you.'' Her eyes suddenly flashed with mischief as she saw a filly call Silver's name. He groaned, almost rolling her eyes, as he walked out, snarling at the still shaky Banana, who dug her teary face in Ruby's chest. Dinky walked back over to them, frowning at the filly. ''Is she alright, Ruby?''

''I don't know....I really don't know.'' said the pink unicorn, as she stroked the teary eyed filly's green hair. It was confusing, but Banana wasn't liable to give answers in the state she was currently in. ''Girls, lets just take her back inside. We'll ask her what happened when she calms down.'' The other two unicorns nodded, as they simply continue to listen to the tears that dribbled onto their pink friend's coat and eventually splattered onto the ground below.
