Spike and Yolstrun have been flying for half an hour in silence when Spike spoke up.
"So Yolos where do you live?" Spike asked.
"*sigh* Spike there is something I have to tell you." Yolstrun said.
"Sure what is it?"
"Do you know the legend of the Dragon King?"
"Yeah. The legend says that the King was a being made of literal flames and that he tried to conquer Equestria to expand his kingdom and rule forever, but Celestia and Luna stopped him with the Elements of Harmony sealing him in the Volcano of Goraag for all eternity."
'Great the ponies think I'm some evil overlord... Which I was for a bit, but I was just trying to protect my subjects.' "Spike the legend is both right and wrong in different ways. The King was a being of fire, the Sisters did seal him in Goraag, but he didn't want to conquer Equestria. He only wanted to protect his kingdom from the ponies. Their crimes against dragon kind include egg stealing, assault, and others I cannot mention."
"Wait how do you know all this?"
"Because I am The Dragon King"
"Pfff-hahaha-" Spike stopped laughing when he saw Yolstun's serious face.
"Oh wait you're not joking... You're The Dragon King?!" Spike shouted, "Aaaaahhh get away from me!" Spike shouted backing away from his head and falling off his back and plummeting to the ground.
"Oh come on!" Yolstrun said before flying down to catch him.
He caught Spike in the nick of time. Right before Spike hit the ground Yolstrun grabbed him by the tail and put him safely on the ground, yet Spike backed away again and into a wall before tripping on the way there and landing on his butt.
"D-don't hurt me please!" Spike said raising his hands in front of his face.
"Look I don't want to hurt you, Spike." Yolstrun said kneeling.
"You don't... Wait how do I know this isn't a trick?"
"A true dragon would never lie. I speak from the heart that I want to stop all the crimes Equestria has done against dragonkind and to return my kingdom back to its former glory."
"Why do you need me for that?"
"Because you are one of the handful of eggs that Celestia and her ponies have stolen from the Dragons."
"What?!" Spike screamed, "B-but Twilight told me my egg was found abandoned in a cave somewhere."
"They probably found you when we were evacuating the egg chambers when they attacked us and tried to rob us of our treasure and children." Yolstun said sadly "They came out of nowhere managing to defeat the guards and take a handful of eggs, but to stop them one of my council members consort, Korialstraz, sacrificed himself and the remaining eggs to stop the ponies from getting a foothold on us. That event will be etched into my mind for all eternity."
Narrative 1st POV
Korialstraz and I were overseeing the evacuation of the hatching chamber after the first attack of the ponies at one of our outposts near the border between Equestria and the Draconian Mountains.
"Quickly! We don't know when the ponies will attack again! We need to gather all the eggs and place them in the city." he said.
The dragons were carrying all the eggs they can and placing them in containers going to the city. Suddenly a hundred Solar and Lunar guards suddenly came bursting through the walls, somehow being able to drill through the obsidian caves. The ponies immediately started grabbing eggs and putting them back in the hole. The two Goldenclaw guards retaliated by breathing golden fire which turned a few of them into gold statues. A group of ponies tried to stab them with their spears, but both of them coated their bodies in gold making them harder to damage.One of the Goldenclaws grabbed a pony and bit of his head then throwing him to the floor and going after another one. The other held up a pony and held its mouth open then breathed down it turning its insides solid gold. The pony died before hitting the ground bleeding liquid gold out of his mouth.
A two-headed Imperial dragon burst in, clad in bronze and silver armor that was glowing orange came charging straight the group of ponies running away from the Goldenclaws, tossing them into the air before breathing fire at them from both its heads turning them into charred corpses.
But what they didn't notice was that a unicorn guard was charging up his horn covering it in a blue glow. Then he reared back his head and shouted "FUS RO DAH!"
The shout sent all the dragons in the room flying into a wall.
"They know Thuum!" a Goldenclaw shouted.
Then the unicorn guard shouted "Krii, Lun, Aus!"
When he shouted those words the dragons in the room felt themselves growing weaker. Then the guard shouted "Mid, Vur, Shaan!"
The ponies weapons were suddenly covered in an ethereal blue glow. The dragons continued to fight but when the ponies hit them their weapons didn't simply bounce off of their scales. Instead, they struck with great power and was able to cleave through leaving deep wounds. A pegasus guard flew into the air where a Goldenclaw was hovering raining down golden flames and slashed at one of his wings cleaving it clean off which caused him to fall flailing to the ground and then the other guards swarmed him and ended his life in mere seconds.
"Brother!" the other Goldenclaw shouted.
He then was filled with rage and charged at a group of ponies in revenge for his brother, but they too defeated him leaving a bloody mess of dragon parts.
"This ends now!" Korialstraz said.
Then the ground started shaking and came in Korialstraz killing ponies left and right. The ponies managed to get good shots on him and an arrow hit him in the eye causing him to recoil from the pain. Then an earth pony guard wearing Lunar armor wielding a massive battle hammer charged at Korialstraz hitting his legs and a loud breaking sound came from where he hit and Korialstraz roared in pain.
"Seal the cave!" Korialstraz shouted to me.
"But-" I said.
"NOW!" then I hit the walls and the cave entrance came crashing down.
'I have to end this now. Even if it means sacrificing myself and the remaining eggs.' Korialstraz started glowing green and rose into the air'I guess this is it. Goodbye Alex.' Korialstraz then opened his eyes and they glowed even brighter than before. as he harnessed his life and fire essence and as he was being wounded by the ponies he managed to smile a bit. Then in the blink of an eye, there was nothing left in the room. Only the ponies who got the eggs out in time survived the blast.
Outside I felt what happened to him and the eggs. I felt like I failed him, but he gave us a fighting chance against the ponies and he gave a future for the eggs we saved.
"We need to go to the city. Pack everything up and go!" I shouted.
3rd POV
As Yolstrun finished his story. Spike was in shock.
'Was everything I told as a child just a lie' he thought.
"Spike, now you know why I must bring you to the city and prepare you for what's coming." Yolstrun said raising his hand towards Spike
In his heart, Spike was filled with rage for what had happened. He took Yolstrun's hand immediately.
"Good. Now get on my back." Spike got on.
They shot into the air once again bound for the city.
