//------------------------------// // Chapter 2 // Story: My Friend, Twilight // by Dr. John Trotson //------------------------------// Ch 2 It was about 4 pm when I got back to my room to find twilight playing around with the toy version of herself. She looked up when I entered the room. "Hiya Max!" she said with a smile. "Hi Twilight," it still felt weird talking to someone who was a cartoon character. "Why are you staring at me?" She asked with a confused laugh. "W-what?" I realized that I was staring and corrected myself, "Oh, sorry... It's just that-" "I'm scientifically impossible?" she said, quoting one of my favorite lines of hers. "Um, yeah.." was all I managed to get out. I felt like a blubbering idiot infront of her. "Well just don't worry about it now," she replied, "So.... What would you like to do?" Well, gosh, there were so many questions and ideas buzzing around in my head, I didn't know what to choose. So I came up with what any other person in this situation would say, "Uh.. I don't know, what would you like to do?" I know, most of you are face palming right now, I would too. She giggled and put down the figurine and got up.  "Don't you have a mother in the hospital?" I totally forgot my mom! Could Twilight help? "Could you help her?" I asked pleadingly. "Of course!" she exclaimed, "I didn't just come here to chat! Well, we are chatting right now, so I can't say I didn't come here to chat because I chatting right now, which is probably getting on your nerves.." I looked at her, and smiled. "It's alright, now, let's go to the hospital!" "How are we going to get there?" she asked.  "Can't you teleport?" I replied. "Only short distances." she looked down, sad. Just then, I heard a car honk out front. It was a family friend of ours, I got excited and grabbed Twilight. We ran downstairs and out the front door to greet her. "Hey, Ashely," I greeted walking up to the 19 year old girl. "Hi, Max, whats up kiddo?" she looked over to Twilight and added, "Ooh, who's your friend?" I blushed a little, but managed to ask,  "Ashley, I need a lift to the hospital." "Whats in it for me?" she asked, crossing her arms. "Uhh," I thought for a moment ten said, "I'll get you tickets to that Justin Beiber concert." "Deal!" She couldn't say it fast enough. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- We drove along in her sedan. Twilight and I sat in the back seats, we were still holding hands, partially because I forgot we were, and secondly because Ashley drove at the speed of light.  We were halfway to the hospital when some guy in a gray hoodie with the hood up stepped in front of our car about 20 feet away.  Ashley made a sharp left into incoming traffic, Twilight buried we head into me. She then made a sharp right turn back into our lane, not without yelling at the guy out the window. Who was he..... -------------------------------------------------------------------------- We got into the hospital and asked to see my mother. A nurse led us to the room where my dad was asleep, but my mom was still awake. Her eyes got wide as she saw me enter the room with a girl I was still holding hands with. I looked down and realized that, and slowly pulled my hand away. "Hi Mom, this is Twilight," I gestured, Twilight, um, Sterling." "Hello, Twilight.." She said weakly, "Wait.. Isn't one of your little po-" "Anywho," I cut her off, "How are you feeling?" "Bad, the doctor said, I might.. Not make it.." She said tearing up. I was about to say something when Twilight walked over and put her hand on my moms head. Ashley had left the room earlier to go talk to one of the handsome doctors outside, so she couldn't witness twilights hand glowing, then a bright flash of light. When the light died down, my mom was asleep and Twilight took her hand off of my moms head. "What did you do?" I asked. She smiled, "You'll see." -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The next morning I woke up in the hospital room. The doctor, Twilight and my dad were crowded my moms bed. I stretched and walked over to find my mom looking better than ever! The doctor was flipping through the papers on his clip board frantically, trying to figure out what was going on. Twilight winked at me and nodded. Of course! She healed my mom, and of course the doctor was confused out of his mind. "Well," the doctor started, "it looks like you will be out of here in a day or so! I don't know how it's possible, but all of your injuries are gone!" I pulled Twi out of the room. "What did you do?!" She giggled and smiled, "You can thank me later" I hugged her and teared up a little, "Thank you." "Oh please, it was nothing!" she hugged back, "I just like to see you happy!" I finished hugging her and asked her, "I'm famished, would you like something from the snack machine?" "Um, sure," she replied, "What's a snack machine?" I laughed and brought her to the lobby where there were a lot of snack machines on one wall. Twilight went machine to machine looking at all they had to offer. When she finally picked one I inserted the money to get pulled behind the machine by her. I was about to interject when she put a finger to her lips and pointed towards the main lobby. The man in the grey hoodie was arguing with the front desk lady. What I love about hospitals is that there truly is a sassy black lady running the desk.  She ended up winning whatever they were fighting about, probably where Twilight and I were, and he walked off. I peaked my head out to see if he was gone, he was. I asked Twilight if she knew who that man was. She looked at me, very afraid, and said one word. "Discord" A/N: Sorry about the late chapter, my computer had to be fixed and I will be moving this tuesday to Virginia Beach, so you'll have to wait awhile.. Sorry.. :(  ~JT
