A Midnight Eclipse

2: Prologue: Eclipse Part 2

12:24 P.M. Crystal Prep: Final Floor: Principal's Office

"WHAT?!?! NO!! PLEASE! You can't do that!!" Eclipse screamed in horror as Cinch ripped up his profiles.

"I. Just. DID!!!!" Cinch said in a firm tone. "I've taken you out of the system, now get out."

"What the hell am I supposed to-" He was saying before he got interrupted by Cinch.

"And you will also pay for the collateral damages, personally!" She added in.

"WHAT?!?!?!?" He screamed, "How the hell am I supposed to pay for all this?!" Eclipse says, in complete shock at what he's hearing.

In a cold, emotionless tone, Cinch says, "I hear several restaurants are hiring right now. Perhaps you could get a job." Oh, you are just begging for a law suit! "Now, I want your locker emptied by 1:15." Cinch finished, with Eclipse standing there in shock, anger, and confusion, until Cadence came and talked him to his locker.

12:30 P.M. Crystal Prep: 1st Floor: Science Hallway Lockers

"Oh, Faust. What am I going to tell mom?!" Eclipse wondered in extreme anxiety, about to have a panic attack.

Cadence grabs him by his shoulders, "Eclipse, listen to me, OK?" He nodded his head, "We're going to get through this. Everything will be OK. I promise. Just clear out your locker and your backpack, and give me all your textbooks."

Eclipse took a few deep breaths, and nodded. "OK, I'll do that." He said as he got his locker opened and started emptying it out. Faust, I hope my mom doesn't kill me, he thought as he handed his textbooks to Cadence. When he was finished, he closed the locker, and, in a fit of anger, punched the locker, giving it a slight dent. He wished he didn't. "OW!!!! WHY DO I ALWAYS DO THAT WHEN I'M MAD?!?!?!?!?" He checked his hand, and was thankful when he didn't see any blood, but bruises covered his knuckles. He groaned, "Dammit! I really need to stop doing that."

Cadence just sighed at her nephews pain, "I will never understand why you have to hit something when you get so upset. Are you alright?"

Eclipse nodded, while still in slight pain, "Yeah. Just bruised my knuckles a bit."

Cadence shook her head, "Well, at least it isn't bleeding." She counted the textbooks and saw that he'd passed all of them to her. "Now that we got the textbooks, I believe we're done here."

Eclipse sighed in relief, "Thank goodness. The sooner I get out of here, the better."

Cadence giggled, "If you say so. You want me to drop you off at your home?" She asked as she went to return the books, with Eclipse following her.

"Thanks, Aunt Cadence. That'd be great. I need to get my car to a repair shop." He said as he pulled out his phone, a Samsung Galaxy S7. "Let me call one of my friends real quick." He starts dialing his friend, Rusty Bolts, who owned a car repair shop in town.

A male voice, sounding around 20 years of age, picked up. "Hello?"

"Rusty? I need some help."

"Hey, Eclipse! Your car giving you trouble?"

Eclipse chuckled, "No, she's not causing me any trouble, but she got wrecked."

"What?! What happened?"

"Well, remember that Ledger prick I told you about?"

"Yeah, I remember him. Why?"

"He trashed my car. He ran it through the main hall of my school."

'What?! Seriously?!"

"Dead serious."

"Damn, dude. I'm sorry about that. I'll pick the car up as soon as I can."

He sighed in relief, "Thanks man. My mom's gonna kill me when she finds out."

"Don't worry, we'll get her looking good as new when we're done. Well, see you later."

"Thanks Rusty, bye." He hang up and started walking towards Cadence's car.

2:42 P.M. Luna's Residence

Cadence pulled in the garage, and parked her car, letting Eclipse out. "Here we go. I need to run back to the school. Make sure you tell your mom what happened."

"Don't worry, I will!" Eclipse said, before Cadence rolled up her window, drives out the garage and drives back to the school. All I have to do is wait till they get home, then I can tell her what happened. Oh please don't take away my computer. He thought as he made his way upstairs to his room. If he was going to wait for his mom and Cynder to come home, he was going to pass the time doing it. Let's see, how much money do I have on Steam again? He wondered as he turned his computer on to check on his balance, which was about $35.72. Dammit! Only $9.27 off before I can get Pillars Of Eternity. Man, I wish one of the Steam sales cuts the price some so I can get it.

After about another 30 minutes of Skyrim of his PC, he heard the front door open. Oh shit! They're home! He thought as he paused the game and ran down stairs, "Hey Mom!" He cried out.

Luna and Cynder quickly turned around, and where completely shocked to see Eclipse home so early, "Eclipse!" Luna said, "What are doing here? You're usually home by 4:30, and where's your car?"

Eclipse started to blush and avert his gaze, "W-well...um...." Was all he could say.

"What happened, bubba?" Cynder wondered in a concerned tone.

Eclipse took a deep breath, It's now or never. "Do you remember that Ledger guy I told you about?" They both nodded, "Well, we both got in another argument, but this time he decided to tackle me when my back was turned."

They gasped, "That's horrible!" Luna exclaimed. "Why would he do that?!"

"I'm not sure, Mom, but he certainly wasn't happy." He answered. "After he tackled me, we both got sent to the principals office, where Ledger got a month's worth of detention, and I was given a warning, but if I got in any more trouble, regardless of the situation, I would be in trouble."

"That hardly seems fair." Cynder said with a slight frown.

"I agree, sis, but I don't make the rules there. During lunch, I went to my car to get one of my notebooks that I left there, but once I got back to the cafeteria, I see my car in the middle of the main hallway." He said with anger present in his tone.

Luna gasped, "What?! Is your car OK?" She asked.

"For the most part yes," He said. "but the front of it got pretty beat. I called Rusty Bolts to fix it up for me."

Luna sighed in relief, "Thank goodness. I trust him more than anyone else to fix your car."

He nodded, "Same here. The next thing I know, I get called to the office, my profile gets ripped in half, I'm expelled, and I have to pay for the damages." He exclaimed.

"WHAT?!" Luna shouted, "SHE EXPELLED YOU?!?!?" He nodded nervously with a hint of a blush. She sighed heavily, "Did she at least explain why she expelled you?"

"No." He said with a hint of worry. "A-all she said was how it had to be me who drove the car into the hall, but I didn't! I swear!" Oh, who am I kidding? I'm so getting grounded! He sighed, "So..What's my punishment? No phone? No Computer? No PS4?"

Instead of yelling further, Luna just looked at him confused, "What are you talking about? Why would I punish you?"

He looked at his mother in shock. "My car smashed through the main hallway of Crystal Prep, I got expelled, and I have to pay for the damages! What reason do you have to not punish me right now?!"

She gave her son a caring look, "Eclipse, you said it yourself: you didn't do it. I see no reason to punish you when you did nothing wrong. Besides, I can pay for the damages. I still have loads of money thanks to those game tournaments we've won." She said with a motherly smile on her face, while Eclipse stared, dumbfounded by what he was hearing. "Hey, why don't we get all of this out of our heads and enjoy the rest of the day with a visit to the game store in town?"

Eclipse's face lit up at the mention of game store, "Do you mean that one towards the center of town?!" He said with a smile on his face.

Luna giggled at this display and nodded, "The one right next to Game World and the Magic store."

His face lit up like a Christmas tree, "YES!!!" He screamed as he kept saying it again and again, bouncing like a little kid in a candy store until he finally calmed down. Once he got himself under control, he said, "Ahem. Sorry about that."

Cynder was giggling like mad, "It's OK, bubba. I know how excited you get when we go there. Heck, we all love that store." She gasped, "Maybe we can all get some new games!" She said with glee.

Luna gave a warm smile, "That was the plan, sweetie. Now come on, let's get going! We've got some games to buy!"

"Yeah!" Eclipse and Cynder said at the same time, while they ran towards the car. Once they got inside, they all buckled up their seat belts and they were on their way to their favorite game store, The Warp Zone.

3:32 P.M. Central Canterlot: The Warp Zone

Luna parked her car towards the entrance of the store, turned towards Cynder and Eclipse, who were sitting in the back playing Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate together, and said in a sing-song voice, "We're here!"

Right when she said that, the monster they were hunting struck Cynder's character, causing her to faint, and for the mission to fail. "NOOOO!!!!!!!!" They shouted in despair.

Luna was confused, "What happened?"

Cynder was the first to speak, "This creature we've been hunting killed me! We've been hunting it for 33 minutes!" She cried out in sadness and anger at the game. She closed her 3DS and began pouting, which of course Luna found to be adorable, but Eclipse didn't like seeing his sister like this.

"Hey, don't worry about it, OK?" Eclipse began as he put his arm over her shoulder, "We'll try again later. And next time, we will beat it. I promise. You just need more practice with the Switch Axe."

She sighs, "I suppose your right. I did just get this weapon." She says with a sad expression, until she sees the sign for The Warp Zone. "We're here!"

Luna giggled, "That we are. Come on! Let's get inside. I'm sure that Game Jolt's running the store tonight."

Eclipse starts chuckling, "Does that mean you're gonna be talking to him most of the time here? Honestly Mom, it's like you two are dating at times." He says with a smirk, causing Cynder to giggle and Luna to blush.

"I-I do not talk to him most of the time he's here, thank you." She stuttered. "He's just a good friend of mine."

Eclipse chuckled again and had an amused look, "Sure, we'll go with that." He said with his voice dripping in sarcasm, causing Luna to blush more brightly. "Anyway, let's go. Maybe we'll find some good classic games."

"Yeah," Luna started, "I still need to find Metroid Prime on the Gamecube. I've been searching for that game for about a year now."

"Oh yeah! You told me about that game." Eclipse said as he opened the door for them. "Honestly, that sounds like a game all three of us can play and enjoy."

Cynder was the first to walk in, "Thanks bubba!"

Then Luna, "Thanks Eclipse." He followed shortly after and they stared in awe at the store. It was a fairly simple store, but it certainly was big, and it had to be to accommodate for all the stuff it had. Towards the front of the store were the gaming merchandise, like Skylanders, Disney infinity figurines, action figures, and other accessories, but as you went towards the middle and back of the store, it branches out into multiple areas. The middle was labeled as the Modern gaming section: it had all the more recent games and consoles, along with a few accessories depending on the console or game. To the left was the XBOX and Nintendo section, which housed games from the original XBOX all the way to the XBOX One, it's latest games and the latest Nintendo games and consoles, while the right side was the Playstation and PC section, which housed games from the PS1 to the PS4 and the latest PC gaming equipment, mainly brands like Razer. Towards the back of the store was the Retro section, which had games ranging from Atari, classic Nintendo, Sega, and all sorts of other old games and consoles. The walls were all painted a midnight blue, and several gaming logos ran across the walls, showing the progression of gaming logos across the years.

Towards the XBOX section, Eclipse noticed a big guy with light, grayish blue skin, white hair with a red streak running down the right side of his head, teal eyes, and wearing what looks like a sleeveless football jersey with the word "Star Player" written on the front of it, blue jeans, and a pair of Adidas tennis shoes. He stood what looked about 6"7, and was muscular as hell, maybe even a bodybuilder. Something about the guy looked familiar to Eclipse though, but he couldn't figure it out. Damn you, tip-of-the-tongue phenomenon. When he turned his head, he saw Game Jolt, the owner of this fine store. He was about Luna's age, stood about 6"2, had orange skin, dark brown hair, wore a Warp Zone themed black shirt, blue jeans, and white Nike's tennis shoes. He was rather handsome for a 42 year old, and Eclipse wasn't ashamed to admit that. Now if only Mom can keep her composure, then we shouldn't have to waste too much time.

Game jolt looked to the front door, and found the three standing there. He gasped, and dropped his newspaper, "They're here." He said in a hushed tone, "Everyone! The Master's are here!" He yelled, sending a massive horde of people towards the three, begging to speak to them. You've got to be kidding me right now.

"SILENCE!!!!" Luna, Cynder, and Eclipse screamed in a loud, demanding tone. Instantly, a thousand tongues were silenced, and the horde of fans came to a halt, quaking at their authority. Luna was the first to speak, "I understand everyone's happy to see us, but you simply cannot come bombarding me and my children here with no sense in common decency."

Eclipse was next to speak, "You may speak to us as we roam the store, but only one at a time. We will have time to speak to all of you, I promise." Once those words were spoken, the mass of people began to calm down, and one by one they slowly approached the three.

After 15 minutes of talking to the crowd, they finally left, leaving only a few people left in the store. "Thank you for calming them down." Game Jolt said with a sigh of relief, "I've tried calming them down, but they were begging me to have you come over."

"It's no problem Jolt." Luna said with a smile, "You know we're always more than happy to help you."

"And I thank you for that." Game Jolt continued with a smile, "Now please, feel free to roam the store and see what you like."

"We will gladly do so." They all said as they made their way to separate ends of the store. Enjoying the rest of their day, until Eclipse got a good look at the guy he saw earlier. When they both saw each other, they locked eyes for a few seconds. The big guy's eyes shifted in anger, as if he loathed seeing Eclipse, but Eclipse's eyes were frozen in fear. N-no.....it can't be. It can't be him. I got away from him at the orphanage.
