Separated from the rest of the Straw Hat Pirates, Tony Tony Chopper finds himself in the land of Equestria; where it is populated not by humans, but talking ponies. Equestria is under attack by the dark demon Tirek. Chopper and his pony friends are on a quest to recover the Elements of Harmony, and rescue their captured friends and family.
Chopper, the Mane 6, and the two Cutie Mark Crusaders have trekked up the mountain side and are now in front of the front gates of Midnight Castle. So far things have been quiet. Too quiet for their liking. As they stand in front of the castle gates, they realize, the portcullis has been raised, and no guards were in sight.
"Must be our lucky day," Rainbow Dash yelled "Let's do this!"
As she was about to sprint foward, Twilight Sparkle used her magic to pull on Rainbow's tail, forcing her to stay in place.
"That's too easy." She said to the blue pegasus, "I don't like this one bit. If I didn't know any better, it's like they WANT us to enter."
"It must be a trap. They're probably expecting us." Chopper said weakly, still exhausted from his earlier encounter with Squirk, and using his monster point.
The ponies all look at each other.
"So, what do we do?" Pinkie Pie asked, "I mean, we can't NOT go in right?"
"True," Rarity answered, "But we'll just have to keep an extra eye out."
"Everypony stay close!" Rarity called. "That means you two as well." She said as she was pointing to Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo.
"Alright, let's all go in together." Twilight instructed, as all the ponies, with Chopper still riding on Fluttershy's back, slowly walk into the front gate, and begin to enter the castle.
The interior of the castle was dark, and cold. The ponies, and Chopper all had a sense of foreboding, as if they were being watched.
"This place is creepier than Thriller Bark." Chopper said, as he trembles.
Fluttershy could feel him shivering, and gently nuzzled him, but she herself was terrified. But she had to put on a brave face, for him, and for the others. She wanted so badly to turn around, and lock herself in her cottage. But this wasn't an option. The others needed her, Chopper needed her. His presence has actually given her a new drive, and newfound courage to push forward. She hadn't felt this strongly about herself since her assertive lessons from Iron Will, or the time she had to help the other pegasi create a tornado to pull water up to Cloudsdale. But this time, she felt more confident than before. Love works in mysterious ways.
She wanted to be there for him, and help protect him. Chopper had already saved her life, and she strongly wanted to repay him for his heroic actions.
"How's about some light sugarcube?" Applejack asked the purple unicorn in a nervous tone.
Even the usual fearless cowmare had her nerves shaken by the dark castle walls.
Twilight lit up her horn like a flash light. Rarity decided to do the same.
"I...I'm not scared....um... no, Not at all..." Scootaloo tensely said, her fear getting to her.
"Don't worry kiddo, I'm right here with ya." Rainbow Dash comfortly said to the young pegasus.
Sweetie Belle inched closer to Rarity. The older unicorn did her best to ease her little sister's fear.
"Don't worry darling, I won't let anything happen to you." She said to the unicorn filly.
Even Pinkie Pie began to feel slightly uneasy, though she still had a slight grin on her face. A nervous one.
"How about a song to get rid of all this doom and gloom? So Giggle at the..."
"Not now Pinkie," Twilight said, "We need to keep quiet. Stay covert."
Pinkie gave a disappointed sigh.
"Oh, alright..." She said dejected.
Something then catches Applejack's eye, it looked like a small red hair ribbon.
"APPLE BLOOM!" Applejack yelled as she ran and picked up the ribbon from the ground.
"AH SWEAR! If anythin's happened to mah sister, That Tirek varmint's gonna pay TEN FOLD!" She angrily yelled. Her fear, now replaced with burning rage.
In a fit of uncontrollable anger, Applejack runs off on her own.
"AJ! Get back here!" Twilight Sparkle yelled at the cowmare, but she had already disappeared from sight.
"Let me try to find her with my Pinkie Sense." Pinkie Pie said, as she tried to focus.
"Hmm, floppy ears, twitchy tail, and twitchy eyelids.... She went that way!" Pinkie pointed.
The ponies then follow Pinkie's direction towards another large and even darker room.
As they enter, suddenly, a large metal door cuts off the area they were just in.
"I knew it! It was a trap." Twilight yelled.
"If I didn't know any better, I think we're being led somewhere." Chopper added.
"You really think so?" Fluttershy asked.
"Call it a gut instinct. Something I learned from Zoro and Sanji." Chopper answered.
"Well, we still have to find Applejack." Rarity complained, "I swear, she's too impulsive and hardheaded for her own good."
Applejack galloped further down the dark corridor, still searching for her lost sister. She then realized she had seperated herself from the other.
"DANGNABIT!" She cursed to herself, "There ya go again. Bein' thickskulled as ever. Ah Can't believe Ah let mahself get all worked up for nuthin."
She began to turn around to see if she can meet up with the others, but by now, the maze like halls of the castle had caused her to lose her way. She was lost.
"A fine mess Ah got myself into..." She muttered. "But Ah still gotta find Apple Bloom!"
She then heard what sounded like footsteps coming from behind her.
"Ah hope that's you Twilight." She said as she turned around.
It was pitch black, she couldn't see anything, but she felt what was like a net ensnare her. She fought to try to break free, but a smashing blow she felt on her head stopped that as she slipped into unconciousness.
The others continue to walk down the corridor. They see that all other doors are either locked, or chained. They were all definately being led somewhere. Although Chopper didn't like the fact that he and the others were being obviously led into a trap, he knew they had no choice but to venture forward if they were to have any hope to end all of this madness.
He then realized he could move his legs. He dismounts Fluttershy.
"I think I can walk again." he said, as he wobbles a bit as he stands.
"Are you sure? You still look tired. Do you need me to hold you up?" Fluttershy asked.
"I'll be fine. Thanks." He answered, "I can feel my powers returning... Let's see... WALK POINT!"
Chopper then turns into his full reindeer form. But he couldn't hold if for long, and reverts back to his brain point.
"Guess I'm not fully recovered yet." He said.
"Well, at least you can walk." Fluttershy said to him as she looks at him with worry. "Just be careful."
Soon, they reach the end of the long corridor, and see a large door. There appeared to be no locks, chains, or anything. The only thing it had, was a menacing looking horned head at the top of the door. It gave everyone there a feeling of great unease. The two fillies simply ducked behind Rarity and Rainbow Dash. Too scared to even make a sound.
"Alright, this is it everypony." Twilight Sparkle said with determination. "Get ready."
She pushes on the door, and it starts to creak open. All of the ponies, though Fluttershy, and the two fillies, very relucantly had to be pushed by Rainbow Dash, Rarity, and Pinkie Pie, entered the room with Chopper right behind them.
As the last of the group enter, the door slams shut. They can then hear what sounded like a deadbolt lock the door.
One thing's for certain, they won't be leaving in that direction. They then see their surroundings. It appears to be a throne room of sorts.
"Welcome holders of the Elements of Harmony." A voice said from the darkness. It was Tirek. "I have been expecting you."
"Tirek!" Twilight fumed.
"Indeed my little pony." Tirek responded, as he approaches the group. "Now that you all are here, my endgame can begin."
He snaps his fingers, and all the torches in the room ignite, lighting up the place.
What the ponies see next, shock them.
Next to Tirek, were Apple Bloom, Scorpan, and Spike. They were chained, and on the other side was Applejack, also in chains. In front of the throne, was a chariot, with five giant dragon like monsters with wings and tusks. The ponies then realize something strange about those dragons. They had cutie marks.
Grogar and Bray were also standing next to Tirek, with evil smirks on their faces.
Behind the throne, were the statues of The three Alicorn Princesses, and Shining Armor.
"No, it can't be!" Rainbow Dash said in disbelief as she sees a bubble cutie mark on one of the dragons. "DERPY?!"
"WHAT DID YOU DO TO THEM?!" Twilight Sparkle demanded. "Princesses, Big Bro."
Twilight could feel tears forming in her eyes as she sees her brother petrified in stone.
"They are to pull my Dark Chariot. Once it is airborne, it will intensify my Rainbow of Darkness. I will use it to conquer the rest of Equestria."
"You MONSTER! How could you??!!" Rarity fumed at the centaur.
"You turned my friends into meanies!" Pinkie Pie scolded.
"Apple Bloom! Ah'm glad you're ok. Don't you worry, Ah'll find a way to get you outta this." Applejack said to her sister.
But then she notices something on one of the dragons. A cutie mark she was all too familiar with.
"Big Macintosh??!!" She said in horror.
She had now realized the gravity of the situation. Her own brother had been turned into a monster. Applejack couldn't hold in her anger, and sorrow. She began glaring at Tirek, with tearful, yet blazing eyes.
"I'm gonna make ya PAY. For what you did to Mah BROTHER!"
Applejack began to struggle with all her might to break the chains, but they were too strong for her.
"BIG MACINTOSH!" She called out to the dragon, "AH know you can here me! Don't let that stinkin' Polecat control you. Ya ain't no monster!"
The dragon merely grunted and roared.
"He cannot here you. He has lost all reason, and only obeys ME!" Tirek said to Applejack, "And soon, you will join him. The trap, was to capture you, and one more of your group. To transform you into the final two that will pull my chariot."
"No..... NO!" Applejack yelled in defiance.
At this point, Scorpan couldn't stand it anymore. He had committed terrible acts in Tirek's name, he helped capture and kidnap ponies for his master's dark purpose, and even endangered Spike, a dragon who he swore to watch over. Now was his chance to redeem himself.
With all of his might, using his gargoyle strength, combined with his rage, managed to break the chains binding his arms. He then breaks the chains holding Apple Bloom, and Spike.
He then rushes at Tirek, attempting to fight him with his bare hands, but was easily overpowred, and swatted aside by the centaur. All the while, Grogar and Bray watched with glee.
"You fool. Did you really think you were a match for me?" Tirek taunted.
"I will do whatever I can to stop you!" Scorpan yelled as he gets back onto his feet.
Twilight and the others watched in confusion. "Wasn't that creature on of his minions? Why is he attacking Tirek? What happened that turned him against his master?" Twilight thought.
Spike immediately ran over to Applejack, and tried whatever he could do to free her.
"If I only had the keys." He said while trying to claw at the chains.
Tirek then uses his scepter to swat Scorpan away, and turns his attention to Applejack and Spike.
"Behold the power of the Rainbow of Darkness!" He said, as he opens the pulsating satchel.
The Dark Rainbow then shoots out towards Applejack and Spike.
"Spike, GET OUTTA HERE NOW!" Applejack demanded.
"No, I'm not leaving you behind." He retorted back.
At this point, it was too late. The Rainbow of Darkness had already enveloped the two.
It looked like both Spike and Applejack had caught on fire, as if they were being burned alive. Then their forms began to chainge. Soon they too had been transformed into giant winged dragons with elephant tusks.
"NOOOOOOO!" Apple Bloom shrieked. "APPLEJACK!"
The others couldn't believe what they saw. Twilight Sparkle's eyes were fixated on the creatures that were once Spike and Applejack. Her blood ran cold, her stomach in knots, and her eyes now running with tears.
Her two best friends have been turned into monsters.
"YOU'RE GOING TO PAY FOR THIS!" Twilight had never been so devastated, or angry in her entire life. Her heart felt like it was ripped in two.
The other ponies, and Chopper couldn't believe what they saw either. They had just witnessed one of the most honest and loyal ponies, turned into a monster to serve a great evil. And Spike, the once friendly little dragon who worked his way into their hearts, has now been turned into a heartless beast.
"I'm gonna make them pay for what they did to AJ, Spike, AND THE OTHERS!" Rainbow Dash said as she zoomed towards Tirek.
He fired a bolt from his scepter that knocked Rainbow Dash back. Rarity and Twilight charged at him. Only for him to teleport out of the way with his dark magic. He reappeared on the other side of the hall, and pulled a lever.
Once he did, the ground in front of the throne began to slide away. Beneath, was a lava pit.
Several of Tirek's lizardmen guards then harness the recently transformed Applejack, and Spike onto the chariot, along with the other transformed ponies. Tirek now had the seven he needed to pull his chariot.
"Now." He said as he boarded, "I am off to Ponyville, to unleash my full power. Soon, I willl build an army to take Canterlot, and then, the entire world! Even the Human World Government and their Marines, and the Four Pirate Emperors, will tremble before my might. Grogar, Bray, will you join me?"
"Very well." Grogar said, as he and Bray also hop onto the chariot.
"No, he's getting away!" Rainbow Dash said, as she gets back on her feet.
Tirek then cracks a whip, making the seven dragons fly into the air. The chariot then flies out of a window, and heads towards Ponyville.
"I leave them to you, LAVAN!" Tirek calls back as he disappears off in the distance.
The lava pit then begins to stir, and something emerges. It was a humanoid creature, seemingly made from lava.
It climbs out of the pit, and began to advance towards the ponies, and Chopper.
At this point, Chopper can feel all of this strength return to him.
"Heavy Point!"
He turns into his human form, and prepares to do battle.
Scorpan then regains conciousness, only to see Lavan emerge, and advance towards the ponies.
"Look out, that's Lavan, he's a lava demon! Don't let him touch you, or it's all over!" He yelled to the others.
"Fools." Lavan said, "Ever since Tirek helped me escape from Tartarus, I have been promised Manehatten would be my new firery domain."
"I got this!" Rainbow Dash said, as she began to fly circles around Lavan. She was trying to create a wind tunnel to cool him down.
But Lavan then swats at Rainbow Dash. She was barely able to dodge, as droplets of lava singe her wings.
She lands and began to blow on her feathers, which were lightly scorched.
"You don't stand a chance. None of you can even touch me." Lavan gloated.
Chopper picks up a shield from the wall, and uses it to ram Lavan against the wall. It wasn't long before the shield melted, and Chopper had to retreat.
"This isn't good." Chopper said to himself, "We can't physically hit this guy. I can't use Haki, and there's no water around."
Rarity, using her horn, began levitating random objects around the room, from shields, to spears, to arrows, and began hurling them at Lavan. Pinkie Pie also hurled random objects at the lava demon. Only for the objects to be burned and melted as they made contact. Twilight fired several bolts of magic. These too were absorbed harmlessly into Lavan's body.
"Twilight, maybe a wind spell!" Chopper called to her.
"Good thinking!" She replied, as she conjured up a wind.
It began blowing Lavan, and it seemed to be working as he looked like he was being cooled down slightly, until he threw a glob of lava at Twilight. The glob engulfs the purple unicorn, as the others watch in horror.
"TWILIGHT NO!" All the ponies yell in unison.
But the glob of lava seemed to slide off harmlessly. Twilight had used a force field to protect herself.
"That was close!" She said.
They all breathe a sigh of relief.
"But we're still nowhere close to beating this guy." Chopper said, as he turns into his walk point reindeer form to out run the globs of lava that Lavan was throwing at him.
Lavan then sees the three cutie mark crusaders, and advances towards them.
The three fillies, terrified, began backing away from him. They then realize they couldn't back any further, because they were now on the edge of the lava pit.
"Now then," Lavan said to the fillies, "Would you like to jump in? Or would you have me push you in?"
"You....... You leave them alone." Fluttershy stuttered.
Lavan began to laugh.
"Or what?" he demanded.
"I said...... LEAVE THEM ALONE!" Fluttershy yelled, now her eyes furrowed, her wings spread, and a strong aura surronded her.
"It's, THE STARE!" Pinkie Pie said as she smiled.
"Whoa now, what's with you all of a sudden?" Lavan asked, now surprised.
"YOU WILL NOT HURT ANYPONY!" Fluttershy demanded.
Lavan, now suddenly feeling chills to his body, began backing away from Fluttershy, as the cutie mark crusaders run around him, and back to Twilight and the others.
"Why? Why am I getting these chills?" He asked. "It doesn't make sense!"
"JUST BECAUSE YOU'RE A MONSTER MADE OF LAVA DOESN'T MEAN YOU CAN BE A BULLY! YOU DO NOT, I REPEAT, YOU DO NOT HURT MY FRIENDS!"
Lavan began backing up more, now terrified at Fluttershy's rage.
"No please, Don't hurt me, I give up, I GIVE UP!" He begged.
Lavan continued to back up, until he was at the edge of the lava pit. He takes another step back, loses his footing, and falls back into the pit. Twilight seeing this, quickly runs over to the lever, and flips it. The stone floor then begins to close.
"No, NO! Let me back out! You can't leave me here! NO!" Lavan yelled as the floor closes on top of him.
Chopper couldn't believe what he saw. Fluttershy defeated Lavan with a stare. He then put two and two together after he remembered Luffy doing something similar. It then hit him that Fluttershy was one of the few born with King's Haki!
Fluttershy had returned to her normal timid self, as the others run up to her.
"Nice job Flutters! I knew you could pull through for us!" Rainbow Dash said as she pats her on the back.
"Yeah, The Stare always wins!" Pinkie Pie beamed.
"Fluttershy, I never expected you to have the rarest, and one of the most powerful forms of Haki. That was King's Haki!" Chopper said.
The others looked at him in confusion, though Twilight seemed to give him more of a look of interest at what he just said.
"Um, explain?" Twilight said to the reindeer.
"King's Haki is a rare form of Haki that cannot be attained through training and only one in a million people carry it. This type of Haki grants the user the ability to dominate the wills of others. The most common usage so far is intimidating those with weak wills, or knocking them unconcious. Whilst inexperienced users are restricted to merely overpowering the will of one individual or blindly knocking out weak-willed people around them, those with more expertise can pick out weak-willed individuals in a large group and knock them out without affecting those around them. However, those with stronger wills can resist or even ignore the effects of King's Haki.
While this type of Haki cannot be attained through training, it can be improved through training, as it grows as the user's spirit grows. The ability to knock someone out depends on the difference in strength between the person using Haki and the person or persons the user is trying to knock out. The greater the power gap, the easier it is to knock the victim out. It seems that upon recovery, victims of King's Haki experience the sensation of chills running through their body. However, it presumably wears off after a short period."
Chopper finishes his explaination, while Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie scratch their heads in confusion.
"Wow, who knew our little sweet Fluttershy held such an incredible power!" Rarity said.
Hearing this gave the cutie mark crusaders a newfound respect for Fluttershy.
"So only those born with this ability can use it? Interesting." Twilight said with fascination. "You must be destined for great things Fluttershy."
"Oh, no, I'm just me. Nothing special. I mainly use it to keep my animals in line, and to protect others from big bullies." Fluttershy answered.
"It's good to know you have this power to help us." Chopper said, "because you ARE Special."
Hearing Chopper say this to her, made Fluttershy blush. She then picks up the little reindeer and hugs him tightly. Chopper himself also began to blush.
"Enough of this lovey dovey stuff!" Rainbow Dash yelled. "How are we gonna stop Tirek now that he's flying to Ponyville? He's gonna tear our home apart!"
"Allow me to answer that." Scorpan said as he stepped up. Everyone seemed to have forgotten about him.
The ponies all take defensive stances as he approaches them.
"NO STOP!" Apple Bloom yelled as she runs up to Scorpan, "He's on our side. He helped me and Spike to escape."
The ponies look at Scorpan, still unsure about him.
"I know I committed may atrocities, but I only wish for redemption. Please let me help you. Tirek is mad with power, and he'll turn everything he touches into a fiery waste. I don't wish for that to happen. Please allow me to assist. I want to repent for all the sins I have done. And I wish to return Spike, and your friends back to normal." Scorpan pleaded, on his knees to Twilight and the others.
"I don't know.... he was the one after all that kidnapped all the ponies from before." Rainbow Dash said.
"Well, he was nice to Apple Bloom." Sweetie Belle chimed in. "maybe he'll be nice to us too if we're nice to him."
"I think everypony deserves a second chance to have friends!" Pinkie Pie cheerfully chimed in.
"Well, not that I trust this brute, but we do need all the help we can get." Rarity added.
"Very well. I'll accept your help Scorpan." Twilight said, though uneasily. She still didn't trust him.
"And what's your deal with Spike?" Twilight asked him.
"I believe that's something you should talk to him about. It isn't my place to say." Scorpan answered.
"Fair enough" She replied.
Twilight then walks up to the statues of Princess Celestia, Luna, Cadence, and Shining Armor.
"I'll find a way to restore all of you to your former selves. I promise!" She said to them. "And I'll find a way to save Applejack and Spike, and any other pony that's been turned into his monsters."
She then bows to the statues, and returns to the others.
Scorpan then leads the ponies and Chopper to a back room. There was another chariot, and a jeweled box.
Scorpan then opens the box, revealing the Elements of Harmony.
"I believe these belong to you." He said as he presents them to Twilight.
"The Elements! We have them again!" Rarity said excitedly.
"But we don't have everypony with us. Applejack......" Fluttershy said sadly.
"How are we gonna use them if we don't have all of us together?" Pinkie asked.
Everyone then sits and ponders about their situation.
"Well, I have an idea." Sweetie Belle said. "How about Apple Bloom? Can't she use Applejack's element? I mean, she IS her sister after all."
The others look at the filly.
"Oh Sweetie Belle, I appreciate your concern, but Just because Apple Bloom is her sister, doesn't mean she can use her element." Rarity said.
"I don't know, it actually sounds like a good idea." Scootaloo said.
"Yeah, she's like a mini Applejack! I mean, she's pretty honest like her big sister!" Pinkie said.
"Well, we don't have any other options. So we'll have to try it." Twilight said, as she gives the element of honesty to Apple Bloom.
Each of the ponies put on their respected element, while Chopper, Scorpan, Scootaloo, and Sweetie Belle watch.
"Ah Won't let y'alls down!" Apple Bloom said. "For Applejack, Big Macintosh, and Miss Cheerilee!"
"I know you'll do your best." Twilight reassured her.
Apple Bloom smiled.
Chopper stared at Fluttershy as she wore her element necklace. He already knew she was pretty cute, but her wearing the jeweled element made her look more beautiful than before. He couldn't help but blush intently as she wore element proudly.
Fluttershy notices that he was looking intently at her. She immediately hid her face under her long pink mane out of bashfulness. Chopper came back to his senses, and tried to assess the situation.
"So now what?" He asked Scorpan.
"This chariot will take us back to Ponyville." He then points to Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash. "I'll need the two of you to help me pull it. Hopefully we'll make it in time."
He then puts the harnesses on Dash and Fluttershy, and one on himself, as the others board the chariot.
"Alright, are you all ready? It's time to fly!" Scorpan said, as he began to flap his wings. Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash also do the same.
The chariot then lifts of the ground, and flies out of the window of Castle Midnight.
"This is it girls! It's now or never!" Twilight said to the others.
"What an adventure." Chopper said, "I can't wait to tell Luffy and the others all about it."
But then he realizes something, once this is over, he'll have to leave. A sadness then swept over him, as he looks at Fluttershy intently. He'll have to say goodbye to her. But at least he'll know she will be safe, and that she can go on with her life in peace. Now more than ever, Chopper is determined to stop Tirek, here and now. For the ponies, for the new friends he made, and For Fluttershy! Chopper can no longer deny it, he had developed strong feelings for the timid yellow pegasus. Even if it meant saying goodbye, the thought of her having a peaceful life brought a smile to his face.
"Let's do this." He said to himself, as they fly towards Ponyville.
