//------------------------------// // Right After the Battle // Story: Elf in Equestria // by MossMoss //------------------------------// "How could you let this happen?" I yell. "You liar! You said we'd beat them, and we lost!" "I know it's hard to handle, but--" Naia begins. "Everything's gone! You've been so optimistic all day! Stop it, it's not a happy day, nothing good will happen, everything is gone. Why can't you understand that?" "I do. But optimism is what keeps us alive, Myhra. You need to see that." "No, blood and honor keeps us alive. I was told by Kit...she's always right..." "Maybe wyrm hunting will help take your mind off things. It always helps me." "Are they...Are they really all gone? My home, my family, my friends...?" "Mhyrabelle!" someone gasps. I look up. It's Kit. "Come with me, I want you to see the Sunwell one more time before it crumbles completely." I attempt to get up, but Naia pushes my back down gently. "Back off!" I kick her in the face which gives me a couple moments to grab my sword, bow, and arrows and dash off after Kit. We finally stop at the Sunwell. It's worse than I had imagined. Tears fall down my cheeks, but I quickly wipe them away. "Stop it, Mhyra." Kit's voice is gentle. "I'm the only one here. Cry, because I know you need to." She walks over to me and has me sit down on the scorched grass. "It's okay. Sit closer." I do as she says. I cry on her shoulder and eventually fall asleep. _____________________________________________________________ "To hell with you!" a harsh shout awakens me. Kit has my diamond sword in one hand and is fiercely shouting at three undeads. I didn't think she had it in her. She looks over her shoulder. "Say your prayer quick. They want to stop you from making contact! I can't hold them off for long, so pray for everything that's most important to you!" I bend down over the Sunwell, my tears rolling down into the last of the clear, evaporating puddle of water at the bottom. I pray my heart out. Ancestors, please hear me now! The Blood Elf race are becoming smaller and smaller. We're losing faith and we need your help now more than ever! You definitely are no Na'ruu, but I know you can help us. Send a portal or something to lead me to reinforcements. I'm pouring my heart out in this prayer! Please help save my people; your people...please..." I get back up. "I'm done!" A portal appears like the ones in Shattarath, only it's blue instead of pink. "Is that what you prayed for?" Kit asks. "Yes, a portal to lead us to reinforcements," I reply. "Now get in!" We leap in. What's the worst that could happen? I mean, it was sent from the Blood Elf ancestors, the ones I prayed to. And even if it wasn't, I'd jump right through. I'm a fearless adventurer. I wanted revenge, and that's exactly what I'm determined to get.
