//------------------------------// // A Chance // Story: Savior of Equestria: A Second Chance // by Midnight Radiance //------------------------------// “Sorry Spike, you must stay here,” Twilight replied to her young assistant when he pleaded to follow. “B-But you need me! I can help!” Spike was on his knees looking up at Twilight and her friends. “Sorry sugercube, but we're about to face Discord. Someone so bad that even Princess Celestia wants stopped. “Yeah, she's right!” Rainbow Dash flapped her wings beside Applejack, hovering over the floor. “This is Discord we're talking about. The Master of Chaos. We can't fight Discord and look out for you at the same time. Leave this to the Elements, Spike. Stay here, it's for your own good." Spike looked at the ground, saddened. “D-Do you really think I would be in the way... Twilight?” “I'm sorry Spike, but Rainbow Dash is right. We have the Elements of Harmony, the most powerful source of magic in Equestria. It is the only weapon that can stop him and my friends are the owners of this power now. It would be best if you stayed.” Twilight looked at her first and closest friend, seeing the depression in his face and body language. “Come on ladies..." She started, "Let's save Equestria before things get worse.” With that, Twilight ran out of the room with her friends right behind her. “Don't worry Spike! Once we stop Discord, I will throw us a 'Saved The World From Chaos' party!” And with that Pinkie Pie zoomed out of the door to catch up with her friends. Spike sighed heavily and went upstairs to his and Twilight's room. He sat on the bed while looking out of the window in the direction his friends ran off to face Discord. “I wish I could help, but they're right. I would only get in the way. I don't have the power to help them." Spike continued to look out the window, a full hour had passed and just as he was about to lay down, he saw it. A rainbow was formed somehow and went over a good distance, hitting the checkboard little hill that Discord had made and then the rainbow split apart and fell to its sides with light connecting with it, forming a dome. When the rainbow edges hit the ground, the dome of light expanded and covered Equestria. “So bright!” Spike covered his eyes as his body was surrounded by light. Then everything went black. *** When Spike opened his eyes, he was no longer in his home. He stood in a realm that had white all around him while there was cool water at was up to his ankles. “Where... am I?” Spike questioned nervously. "Twilight?! Anybody?!” He called but was given no response. “ Am... I dead?” Spike started to panic until he heard a voice. “You have a strange perception of death young one.” A voice said from behind him. Spike turned around to face the unknown and what he saw frightened him to his very being. What stood before me was a floating pale creature who had a strange appearance. The creature who I believe to be male appeared to be very old, having multiple wrinkles in his face while sporting a long goatee. He wore a white, full-length robe with a pattern of six black commas around a high collar. Beneath he wore a necklace which was also made up of six black commas, but what really caught my attention was that he had a pair of horn-like protrusions extending from either side of his forehead. He had three eyes with a ripple pattern, two of which were purple and his third eye was red and placed in the center of his forehead. He lacked eyebrows and for the fact that he was floating over the water with ten black spheres underneath him. 'This guy was a freak of nature!' “Now... just take it easy and let me expl-” “AHHH!!!!” Spike screamed at the top of his lungs as he tried to escape, only to trip into the water. “You do not have to fear young one." The stranger said, not sounding concerned about his trip. "I am the one who brought you here.” Spike turned around and looked up at the creature while still terrified. he stared for a while, soon enough seeing truth in his eyes and was able to relax a little and then spoke. “Who are you and what's happening here?” The strange man smiled as he saw that he was progressing and spoke, “I am called many things through history, but to you, you may call me Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki." “T-That's a pretty weird name." "By your worlds standards, yes, but by mine, it is normal. But getting back on topic, what's happening is that I called you here to help you." "Help me?" "Yes. Help you save your world." "S-Save my world? F-From what?” Spike asked nervously, not liking where this was going. Hagoromo looked into Spike's eyes, his smile soon faded. “From the last members of my clan, the Ōtsutsuki Clan: Momoshiki and Kinshiki.” “Clan? Who are they?” Spike asked. “They are aliens from my world who seeks ultimate power. They travel from dimension to dimension to locate the Divine Tree and drain it of its Chakra to gain god-like powers. I believe they will soon arrive at your world and do the same. I think this because I sense powers beyond anything I've seen before in your world.” “W-Well that's fine. My world doesn't have this Divine Tree thing.” Spike spoke reassured. “Or whatever chakra is. My world consists of magic” “It may not be of the same name and nature, but the principal is still the same as chakra is in my world.” Spike's pupils shrunk as he started to breathe heavily. He then grabbed his chest, feeling his heart pounding hard getting nervous. “T-Then what can I do!?” “I will train you, so when they come, you will be ready,” Hagoromo spoke in a calm manner. “Wait? Why can't you stop them?” “I simply can't. If I had my body and my youth, I would easily be able to stop them." “Y-Your body?” Spike's face went pale some. “ Yes, I'm what you would call a ghost or spirit.” Spike was about to scream again but stopped after thinking about it. "You know what... I'm not even scared.” Hagoromo laughed a bit at this. But he soon became serious and spoke. “Spike... in order for you to save your world, you must first leave it behind.” Spike grew sad that he had to leave his friends. He stood there and contemplated before making his decision. "Save my world..." He smiled as he looked up to him. “Alright then. I'll do what I must in order to save my friends and our world.” Hagoromo smiled from his choice and placed his hand on Spike's shoulder. In a flash of white light, they vanished. Leaving Equestria behind to train in Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki's world. The shinobi world. In the far northeast, a black and blue portal opened and from it, Spike came out, landing on the snow below. “I did it..." He looked around. "I'm back home! I- Ack!!!” Spike held the right side of his head, as pain shot through his body all the way to his right eye. “Careful Spike," Hagoromo said in his mind. "The power you got is still new to your body. Your body is still adapting to that raw power and with it is a risk. It takes a lot of chakra for you to use... and that is why I told you to rest before coming back.” Spike smiled sheepishly. “Sorry, but I needed to get back as soon as possible... My friends... they probably think I'm dead or something. This is what I've been waiting for. Now I can see them all again.” “I know Spike, I understand. But keep in mind, your chakra is very low. You helped Sasuke and Naruto, fight Kaguya and she had unlimited power. You acquired your ocular powers by using your own chakra, my powers, and the Uchiha blood I transplanted in you. During that battle, you used a lot of power and your body still hasn't healed from it. Take it easy.” “I will. I promise after I find them.” Spike closed his eyes and concentrated. “ Now then... I must find her. I must find Twilight. I have to!” Spike opened his eyes as he sensed her presence. "I found her... but... there is a great evil in that direction! No, Twilight!” Spike rushed off into the distance towards Twilight and the great evil that threatens her life.
