Perfect Day

Monster attack

Sunset Shimmer and Big Mac laid on a picnic blanket, at the park down the street from the farm. It was the first sunny day in two weeks due to rain, and it was weeks like this that made Sunset wish that there were weather control like in Equestria. She quickly got rid of that thought because that only made days like this that much better. She had graduated from Canterlot High five years ago, and she won't lie; she missed school. She couldn't complain to much, since her life turned out pretty great. She laid her head on her husband Big Macintosh, just enjoying the day.

She moved to Sweet Apple Acres shortly after Applejack left to help with the war. She thought that her talents would be more useful there, then on the farm. She was assigned to cook all the food so that the soldiers would have a good hearty meal every day to keep their energy and spirits up. It was obvious that the Apple family missed her, but everyone -mainly Applebloom- always loved watching Sunset attempt to harvest the apples.

It normally ended with a first aid kit.

"Do ya want some more grapes Sunny?"

"Ohhh yes please." Sunset handed him her red plastic cup and he refilled it with red grapes before handing it back to her

"Ya sure like them grapes, don't ya?" Big Mac chuckled. She had eaten three cups so far, and was working on her fourth

"They are one of my favorite foods. I rarely got them when I was younger because they are so hard to find." Sunset explained shoving a handful into her mouth

"That explains a lot."

They laid back and and started looking at the clouds.

Sunset pointed to a very fluffy cloud "Look I found a bunny!"

"And ah see a butterfly" Mac pointed out a cloud slightly above it

Sunset started laughing "Guess we'll never get rid of Fluttershy."

"Eenope" They thought back to the past few years. Fluttershy visited on almost a daily basis to help the animals and make sure everyone was happy and healthy. She had been on vacation for the past week though, but her lack of presence was noticed.

They closed their eyes, as they heard the sound of laughter. They looked over and saw a very familiar face on the swings. It was a four year old girl by the name of Fire Blossom. She wore brown cowgirl boots, blue jeans with a lotus blossom on the pocket, and a green shirt and black leather jacket. All custom made by Rarity. Her eyes were bright blue, matching Sunsets. Her hair was red and orange with brown undertones and bangs, and very curly, a little more then Sweetie Belle’s, but long like Twilights.

She was a very unique girl, and she took pride in that. Soft and gentle that was comparable to Fluttershy, yet she could also be hard headed and stubborn like Rainbow Dash. Their group had a huge impression on the young girl, but Susnet knew that she would grow up to be and amazing girl.

“Hey Sunny, ya alright?”

“Yeah Mac, why do you ask?”

“Ya have been staring at nothin for the past five minutes.”

“Just thinking about Fire Blossom that’s all.” She closed her eyes and laid her head on Mac shoulder, enjoying the sun on her face.

“Got you!”

“Ahhhh!” Sunset fake screamed laughing

“My mommy and daddy!”

Sunset grabbed the young girl and pulled her down in the middle of her and Mac. “My Fire Blossom” she giggled while tickling the girl. Big Mac always had to smile at the claiming game they played.

“Stop it mommy!” Fire squeaked while she reached over and started tickling her mom, and Sunset started laughing. She regretted the day her daughter learned how ticklish she was.

“You will never escape the tickle monster! You walked right into her nest!” She said in a funny monster voice.

“Noooo!” Fire jumped up and ran over to the playground “You will never catch me!”

The chase began

“I’m going to get you!”

“No you’re not!” Fire jumped up and started climbing on of the trees.

“Hey, that’s cheating.” Sunset said with an amused smirk

“It’s not cheating. It’s smart thinking” Fire giggled

“You dare enter my domain!” Fire shrieked at the monster voice behind her.

“Jump down, I’ll save you from the tree spirit!”

Without a second thought she jumped down and Sunset caught her, and they started running towards their picnic blanket.

Big mac jumped down and started running after them. “You shall not escape!”

“I’ll protect us mommy!” Fire picked up a breadstick. “Stay back tree spirit!”

Big Mac walk closer and Fire pointed the breadstick two inches from his head.

“You’re all mine.” He said with a smile

“Never!”

It was then Big Mac took a bite of the bread stick. “Mine!” he chuckled and took a neither bite

“Good job Fire! You tamed the tree spirit!” Sunset praised

Fire Blossom ran over to her mom “See I’m brave!” She said with a huge smile.

“Yes, you are very brave.” Sunset messed up her daughter's bangs causing her to giggle.

“Let’s sit down and eat lunch before the tree spirit returns. He’s distraction is almost gone!”

“Go mommy go!”

They sat down and started eating their peanut butter and honey sandwiches.

“Mommy, daddy, can we come back tomorrow?”

“I don’t see why not.” Big Mac said with a warm smile

BUZZZZZZ

“What was that?” Sunset thought to herself

BUZZZZZZZ

“Huh?”

BUZZZZZZZ

It was then her world faded away, only to be greeted by a bright sun in her eyes

BUZZZZZZ

“Hello?” Sunset asked half asleep as she picked up her phone

BUZZZZZZZZZ

“Sunny, that’s the alarm clock.” Big Mac chuckled getting up to turn it off

“Oh,” Sunset felt her cheeks color a little

“Ya look happy. Good dream?”

“Very” She smiled a little more as she replayed her dream in her head

“I’m gonna take a shower.”

“Ok Mac” the bathroom door closed and she heard the water running. She walked over to the window and looked out over the orchard.

“Stupid portal. It always takes something from you, but it would have to take this. I’ll see you tonight though Fire Blossom. Now if only I could have children in real life, that would make it even more better.”
