//------------------------------// // A meeting with a Demigod // Story: For the Emperor and the UNSC! (Old version) // by Titan Commander Sebaste //------------------------------// *Third person POV* Ten years before the Equestrian Black Crusade Sebaste had just finished scrubbing down his armor outside of the library after the battle on the ship and the plasma grenade blast that had followed them from the stunt that Rainborg had pulled just as they had left and had just put it back on when Twilight walked up to him and cleared her throat. “Yes Twi?” He said, turning to her. “I found this near Sugercube Corner, I don't know what it is, but I think it has something to do with those Displaced that popped up…” She said the word Displaced like it had stung her. “Twi, those guys were here to bring someone from their universe back. It’s not our fault they popped up!” Sebaste said before taking a look at the object in question. It looked like a soda can, but with a weird looking symbol on the top and was colored green and black. “Huh, never seen this before…” He said before grabbing it. Immediately he heard a voice saying: I am the changer of shape, seeking to understand the many forms of life. Call for the man of many shapes during your hour of need and I will come, a one man army. Activate the cylinder and in a flash I’ll be ready to clash “Hmm…” Sebaste then activated the cylinder and said “ Whoever you are, let's talk and see if you're either a friend or a foe.” He then tossed it in front of him and just as the cylinder hit the ground, it let out a flash of light, being replaced by a tall, shaggy man in a grey hoodie and a pair of worn out jeans. “So you’re the guy I summoned?” He asked the newcomer. “I’ve seen a lot of Displaced recently, but none of them really went for the Civvie look… the name’s Sebaste by the way.” He turned, giving Sebaste an annoyed look. “Every. Single. Time.” “Now hold on, I’m not trying to insult you, it actually suits you!” The Spartan said,  tensing up in case the figure attacked. ++ Sasha, I need some backup here…++ He radioed. He got a confirmation a few seconds later. “Look, I honestly don't want to fight you, I just want to have a regular conversation without getting clobbered by someone, and believe me, I’ve had that a lot!” He said to the figure. “I never even got your name…” “My name is Jason Hughes.” Jason crossed his arms, never losing his glare. “Sheesh, who pressed your ticked off button?” Sebaste asked. Just then Sebastian walked up to them. “What seems to be the-” the Astartes started to say before noticing Jason “Oh…” He then turned to him and said, “The name's Sebastian, or Sasha, for short. I’m guessing you just got summoned here?” “Yes, yes I did, while I was in the middle of doing something.” “Oops, sorry about that…” Sebaste said in embarrassment.  “I’m guessing that happens a lot?” “Most of the time.” “So what were you Displaced as? Twilight was the one that found your token, but I didn't recognize it…” the Spartan asked. “I didn’t get Displaced as anything.” Jason looked him over. “I’ve always been me.” “Huh, I always thought in order to be Displaced, you had to pick something up from that thrice damned merchant…” Sebastian said, growling the last bit. “But I guess that wasn't the case with you. How did you even get sent into Equestria?” “I never said I didn’t buy anything from the guy.” Jason held his arm up, revealing a strange device attached to it. “I just said I was always myself.” “Both of us were at a con when we picked up our weapons and got Displaced, now we're stuck as a Spartan and a Astartes.” Sebaste said. “But the one good thing out of all this is we can summon any weapon from our respective games.” As an example, he summoned a Halo 5 Hydra multiple missile launcher while Sebastian summoned a heavy flamer. “Sasha can also go into a Terminator, Primarch and Dreadnought form.” “That would be cool if I ever found Halo to be cool.” Sebastian groaned in exasperation. “Warhammer 40,000, why doesn't anyone ever recognize it… seriously, one of these days we need to meet someone that actually recognizes it…” “Because it looks like someone trying to parody a heavy metal album cover with lore dumber than Mortal Combat.” “At least Ahriman knew what I was, may the warp take him…” the Astartes muttered. “Yeah...” Jason rolled his eyes. “It was all incomprehensible clutter to me.” Sebaste snorted. “Believe me, I don't think we’ve seen the last of Ahriman, if we do meet again, I have a bone to pick with Rainborg.” He said. Jason just shrugged a little. “So what exactly can you do?” Sebaste asked. “What exactly is that on your wrist?” “Wait…” Sebastian said, looking closely at it. “I recognize this, that's the Omnitrix from Ben 10! I hadn't seen all the seasons, but I’ve seen enough to know what it looks like.” He said to Sebaste. “That's what you’re able to do, change into any alien race cataloged into that device.” “That's one of the things I’m able to do.” Jason nodded. “Just one.” “What else can you do with it?” The Astartes asked. “I know of the transformation sequences, but I don't recall the Omnitrix being able to do anything else…” he ended with a shrug. Just then, an explosion ripped through the air, the blast point being the town square followed by roars of “FOR THE DARK GODS!”. “Oh for…! Not now!” Sebaste swore. “Why of all the times to attack, why now!?!” “Great, Chaos Marines…” Sebastian growled. “At least it's not orks this time… blasted greenskins...” “Is this stupid warhammer crap?” Jason asked, stroking his beard. “Comes with being Displaced…” Sebaste said before taking aim with the Hydra and firing five rockets that locked on to different targets. “We have to deal with this almost every day here, and that's if we’re not summoned by another Displaced” Sebastian nodded in agreement before shifting into his Terminator form. “It's not just Warhammer enemies we deal with, Covenant attack here also.” “I don’t even care.” Jason cracked his neck, pulling a long sword out of his pocket. “Just tell me who to kill.” Sebaste smirked under his helmet. “I like your style… oh crap…” he groaned. “They’ve got a few Dreadnoughts… Jason, if you can keep the Marines off our backs, we’ll deal with the walkers, and if you see any Aspiring Champions, go crazy on them.” He then activated his active camo armor ability and ran towards where the Dreadnoughts were rampaging. “DEATH TO THE HERETICS!” Sebastian roared before changing into his Dreadnought form and following Sebaste, a Multi Melta at the ready. Jason leapt over them, easily slicing a walker in half, before cleaving a marine into several piecehim ++ “By the Emperor!”++ Sebastian swore as he took out another Dreadnought. ++ “That was solid Adamantium you sliced through! Just how powerful are you?!” ++ “We'll find out later, right now, we have two more Dreadnoughts to deal with!” Sebaste said as he fired salvo after salvo from his weapon at one of the Dreadnoughts that remained. “Screw this!” He said and summoned a Scorpion MBT, jumped in and fired point blank at it, destroying it utterly. “How are you faring, Jason?” He yelled to him. Jason was tearing across the battlefield, leaving a trail of blood and ice in his wake. He let out a scream of rage, tearing a marine's heart out, a storm starting to kick up. “A storm?!” Sebaste looked up in the sky in confusion. “There wasn't one scheduled today!” Rainbow flew in and hovered above him. “You’re telling me! How is this happening?” She yelled above the noise of the battle. “I have no idea! And how the hell is Jason even freezing these guys?!” “Jason? Who's Jason?” The prismatic pegasus asked in confusion. Sebaste pointed at the Displaced carving a wake of destruction through the enemy forces. Meanwhile, Sebastian had managed to take out the last Dreadnought, shifted back into his power armored form and summoned his jump pack and his now signature Lightning Claws and was now slaughtering the Chaos Marines that had not fallen to Jason. Jason stabbed his sword into the ground, drenched in blood. As he calmed down, the storm faded, though had covered the area in several feet of snow. “By the throne, just what exactly are you? I’ve never seen this much power since Craig!” Sebastian said to Jason. “I don't think you’re what you seem to be… you look human, but there's something else about you...” “I’ve never been human.” Jason turned, his eyes now red. “I am Jotun, descended from Loki.” “That’s impossible, Jotuns have been in Norse myths for centuries, yet you claim to be one?” Sebaste said as he walked up. “Well, it’s not the strangest thing that we happened to meet… we’ve met a Displaced that was an Ork.” he then took his helmet off, revealing reddish brown hair and piercing blue eyes on a stern but thoughtful face. “Those ice powers must make for some instant AC during summer.” The Spartan joked. “It’s a multiverse, every possibility is a reality.” Jason removed his sword from the dirt, wiping the blood off it and returning it to his pocket. “So before we got interrupted, I had asked what else your Omnitrix could do. What exactly can it do besides transform you?” Sebastian asked. “I wasn’t talking about the Omnitrix, I was talking about me.” Jason was suddenly beside Sebastian, wiping his face off. Sebaste jumped from the shock of seeing that. “Bloody hell!” He said. “You could give Rainbow a run for her money!” The pegasus snorted. “Yeah, I’m good like that.” Jason nodded. “Guessing that you’ve raced your world's Rainbow Dash?” Sebastian asked Jason. “Oh you thought I actually moved? Nah man illusions. Ever see Avengers?” “Right, Loki…” Sebaste muttered, facepalming. “You’d think after Ahriman, we’d learn our lesson about illusions…” “But no, I’ve never raced my Dash, her ego is big enough as it is.” “That seems to be with all Rainbow Dashes.” Sebastian said with a laugh. “Hey!” Rainbow said indignantly, making everyone present burst out laughing. “So… which season aliens from Ben 10 do you have on your Omnitrix?” Sebaste asked after the laughter had died down. “All of them.” Jason crossed his arms. “I have all of them.” “Sebaste, you should know by now, ask a stupid question…” Sebastian said to the Spartan. “...I get a stupid answer.” Sebaste finished ruefully. “Right…” “Anyway...I have to shower,” Jason cut in, “I’m going to hit a lake.” The duo nodded. “There's one near Sweet Apple Acres.” Sebaste said, pointing in the direction of it. “You can't miss it.” “Thanks.” Jason started to walk off, not overly bothered by his bloodied state. “Geez, that guy is just…” Sebaste said as soon as Jason had moved out of hearing range. “ …cold.” “He may be cold, but I think he’ll fight to the death to protect those he cares about, just like we fight to protect the citizens of Ponyville from these attacks.” Sebastian responded. “We all fight for some reason, but why we fight, is another thing entirely…” “Well, at least we don't have to do any repair work this time…” Sebaste said in relief. At this, at least one house collapsed. “... Frag…” Sebastian rolled his eyes and started walking towards the ruined building. “Let's get this repaired and hopefully Jason will be back by the time we’re done.” He said to Sebaste as they began the task of repairing the house. By the time they had finished, the sun was starting to set. “The hell’s taking Jason so long?” Sebaste said as he sat down in front of the newly repaired house.“He should’ve been back by now…” “He’ll be back. He can hold his own.” Sebastian said as he kept an eye  out for any sign of trouble. “Besides, it’s the first time we've encountered a Displaced that’s a figure from mythology.” Sebaste nodded at this. “Good point. The other Displaced that we’ve met were game or movie based and were also human. He’s something else altogether.” The Spartan said just as Jason appeared. “I’ve never seen anything like what he did during that fight… but it helped save Ponyville and for that, I’m glad to call him an ally. ” “Having fun gossiping?” Jason asked, now sporting a green track suit with a stylized ‘R’ on the hem. “Eh heh…” Sebaste laughed nervously. “I’m guessing you heard that? And where the heck did you get the suit?!” “My pocket.” “Your… never mind, this’ll only end up like trying to understand Pinkie…” Jason smirked. “I have a hypercube, infinite amount of storage space.” “Never heard of a hypercube, but on behalf of the princesses and the citizens of Ponyville, we thank you for helping us take out those Chaos Marines.” Sebastian said. “ I’ll admit, I thought you would’ve chosen one of your forms during that fight.” Jason just shrugged. “I needed to kill something quickly.” “Good point…” Sebaste said, before noticing how late it was. “Well, in any case, our contract is complete. But before you go, we both have something for you.” The duo both summoned their respective tokens. “If you ever need help, just give us a call.” Sebastian said as they handed them over to Jason. “We'll be there in a flash.” “Thanks.” Jason nodded, putting them away. “Till then, may the Emperor protect you.” The Astartes said to the Jotun. “And I hope we meet again someday.”  he added before Jason disappeared back into his universe. He then turned to Sebaste and said, “Let's head to the barracks. I need a good shower after this.” Sebaste smirked. “You and me both.” The two laughed as they headed to the barracks to clean off, and get a well deserved rest.
