3rd POV Lava Pits
First order of business was getting back the gems those young dragons stole and one of Agni's Uroktor spies found them in the lava pits. Yolstrun went there disguised as a blue teenage dragon with silver spikes and horns and blue wings with yellow membrane He saw a group of dragons wrestling when a purple whelp with green spikes and a yellow underbelly interrupted them.
"H-hi I'm Spike." he said meekly.
Then the other dragons started teasing him about being different and living among ponies.
"*sigh* What ever happened to the honorable and respected dragons of old." Yolstrun said dissapointed.
Then the red dragon who looked to be the boss saw him and said "Hey! Who are you? I've never seen you around here before neither."
"I'd like to ask the same thing and why are you picking on a whelp. Have you no sense of courage?"
"Grrr I'm Garble and this is my turf nobody tells me what to do."
"I'm Yolos and you wanna know why?"
"Yeeaaah."
"Because of this." Yolstrun said and then his body burst into flames.
"Eh that's a mediocre trick, but let's see if you can handle some dragon games unless you're like this shrimp here who grew up among namby pamby ponies." Garble said gesturing to Spike who was shivering in fear.
"I accept your challenge" Yolstrun said.
"Alright then first up is a belching contest."
'What has really happened during when I was gone. The respected dragons reduced to nothing but rude brutes.' Yolstrun thought facepalming.
Up first was a white dragon with light pink spines, eyes and spikes and pinkish white underbelly and wing membrane who belched a light blue flame. Next was a thin purple dragon with golden hair, underbelly and wing membrane with nearly black spikes who belched up a green flame slightly bigger than the last. Then came a fat brown dragon with blue horns and red wing membrane belching a giant orange flame that went past the group of spectators consisting of Garble, his two other lackeys, Spike and a weird looking dragon with burning eyebrows. Then came Spike who tried to shoot a flame, but instead he shot out a small green jet of sparkling flame that turned into a letter that had Celestia's royal seal on it and Garble took in his claws and read it before laughing and throwing it in a lava pit and teasing Spike some more. Finally Yolstrun stepped forward and prepared to belch, if one looked closely his spikes were giving off a faint white glow.
"What's that dragon doing?" Twilight murmured.
"I don't know whatever it is, but it looks cool, except not as cool as me though." Rainbow bragged looking through Rarity's eye holes.
Yolstrun finally let loose his flame and came out a pure white burst of fire as if alive snaking out of his mouth and shooting up straight into the sky, before fading in a beautiful shower of sparks.
"Not bad, but I wanna see if you can handle tail wresting" Garble said.
He first paired a fat purple dragon with a scrawny looking black dragon which the purple dragon won sending the black dragon to the ground with his tongue sticking out. Garble raised up the purple dragons tail and everybody cheered. Then the weird looking dragon challenged Spike next.
"Who's this weirdo?" Garble said.
"I think it's Crackle's cousin." the thin purple dragon said gesturing to a similar looking derpy dragon on a cliff with its tongue sticking out and acting like a dog.
The weird dragon was trying to put it's tail on Spike and when it was on Spike was struggling to try and pull down the dragon when it just suddenly dropped down.
"Spike's the winner!" Garble said raising Spike up by his tail.
Then he paired Yolstrun up with the white dragon from earlier. Both of them locked tails and when Garble gave the signal they started to push against each other. Both of them equally well fit, but Yolstrun had thousands of years of experience in his blood which gave him the upper hand and defeated the other dragon in a matter of seconds. To add to the pain Yolstrun grabbed the dragons tail in his claws and lifted him up and slammed him into the ground on his left and right side before leaving him on the ground trying to scream, but instead came out a broken sigh.
"Puny dragon" Yolstrun said going back to the group as the other dragons moved away from him in fear.
Spike was still feeling cocky after his last fight and Garble chose his next opponent. Out of the crowd of dragons he chose a short blue dragon with orange hair and yellow horns, but when the crowd moved away they revealed that his neck was connected to a hulking mass of a body with a tail three times his size and then spikes came out of it.
"Go!" Garble shouted and Spike was thrown into the air and landed on the side of a cliff where a gray dragon was sitting on and Spike slid down painfully.
"Next game... KING OF THE HOARD!" Garble shouted.
The moment he said those words every dragon tried to get on top of the pile of gems Garble was on. Yolstrun approached Spike who was trying to climb up the pile. The moment Spike saw the shadow that covered him he shakily turned around and said "Uh... H-hi I'm Spike."
"No need to be afraid whelpling I won't harm you." Yolstrun said in a fatherly tone.
"So you won't bully me like the others?"
"Why would I ever do that. That is not what a true dragon does. A true dragon has honor unlike these brutes. How about this when we're done here let me show you what it means to be a true dragon."
"S-sure."
"Just promise you won't tell any other soul of what I'll show you."
"I promise."
"Now then let's conquer this hoard."
Spike hopped on Yolstrun's back while he pushed down other dragons trying to reach the top and Spike jumped down and sneaked up behind Garble and pushed him down the other side.
"KINGS OF THE HOARD!" both of them shouted.
Next game was to see who can create the biggest lava splash. The others went in first creating moderately sized splashes, then came the fat brown dragon who jumped in creating a column of lava sending it flying in every direction.
"Spike it's your turn." Yolstrun said looking back at Spike who was backed up against a rock in fear.
"I don't think I can do it." Spike said.
"Hey it's alright Spike we'll do this together." Yolstrun said helping Spike onto his back "Just be warned you might feel dizzy."
"Why's tha-" Spike said before Yolstrun jumped and started spinning and when he landed he split the pool in half creating so much force that the other dragons were blown out of the pool and the rest of the lava with them. Yolstrun stood up with a dizzy Spike beside him.
Garble looked over the edge and said "Okay you guys are now dragons."
Then a mini ceremony started with the other dragon raised their tails as they passed under them.
"Spike and Yolos by the stunt you pulled in the lava pits I dub thee both dragon recruits. Now let's party DRAGON STYLE!" Garble shouted and the other dragons started eating the gems from the pile and while they were eating Yolstrun and Spike flew away to the city. While on the ground the weird looking dragon was searching for something.
"Where did Spike go?" Twilight asked.
"Uh Twi I think I know where he is." Rainbow said pointing to Yolstrun flying away with Spike flying away on his back laughing all the way on the horizon.
"If he dare hurts my Spikey-Wikey~... I'll tear of his beautiful scales and spikes and use them for my new dress." Rarity said.
Rainbow and Twilight looked at her in shock as Rarity rubbed the back of her head sheepishly.
"Well all we can do now is wait for him to return safe and sound, and besides Spike said he wanted to go alone and that dragon seemed nice enough to him. I need to send a letter to the Princess and since Spike is gone I need to use my new spell." Twiight said.
"Well let's hurry up and get home cause this costume is staring to chafe my back." Rainbow said.
And so the went back up the mountain and on their way back to Ponyville.
"Umm Twi why don't we just teleport back home I don't want to walk all the way there." Rainbow said.
"Oh umm sorry here." Twilight said charging up her horn and the disappeared in a flash, but what they didn't know is that an uroktor was tunneling beneath them listening to their conversation. When they were gone it tunneled in the general direction of the castle and along the way it clicked it's beak in a pattern telling the guards of the location of the dragons who stole from the vault.
2 hours later
When Garble and his gang woke up from their nap after eating all the gems, they saw that they were surrounded by a group of dragons wearing guard armor pointing their weapons at them and accompanying them was Guard Captain Charizard.
"All of you are under arrest for robbery! Get down on the ground!" Charizard shouted.
"Whoa whoa whoa! Who said that we stole anything anyway?" Garble asked.
"Don't play games with me boy." Charizard said "I'm smarter than you and stronger than you. I've been doing this job for a thousand years and you think you can throw me off with just that?"
Garble was getting more nervous by the second 'Crud how do I get out of this...' Garble thought.
"Run!" Garble shouted as he and his gang took flight.
"Oh this'll be fun." Charizard said as he and the group followed suit.
