Escape (Edited)

We were given seperate homes in the city. I was bunked with Rainbow and Sunset, who was still traumatized from what we witnessed just the day before.

"Sunset, if you ever wanna talk about it..." I started.

"Don't. Don't try to make feel better about it. There's nothing to feel good about, Night Flier. Nothing. And so I don't want to." Sunset responded.

I nodded and I checked the window.

"We should be careful. The others said that they might be able to climb the wall with some effort." Rainbow said.

"Well, for now let's plan this out. Really think this through. We can not fail this escape, Rainbow. We can't." I said.

"...I know." Rainbow said as she held out a pistol.

"Adagio gave it to me. She said that we should play it safe here." Rainbow said.

I nodded and I decided to check on Button Mash. I went to the house they said was his, but he wasn't there.

"Where is he?" I asked a guard behind me.

"He's talking to the boss." The guard said.

Boss? Adagio?

Is he...

No. No way. Button Mash saw this coming, he has to put up a fight.

"What happened to him?" I asked.

"Now, I think you know what happened." The guard chuckled, his red eyes glowing as his body jerked back from laughter.

No...

After we learned about this, we decided to go back home. We saw Sunset, holding a necklace, a rosary.

"Best not to bother her yet..." Rainbow said.

"Yeah, no kidding. We all had a rough time lately." I said.

"Hey, about Manehattan..." Rainbow started.

"Don't. I just don't wanna talk about it." I said sternly.

"Look, I get that what happened was bad, but--"

"It killed me. For the longest. Time. It killed me, and now it's killing us" I said.

"It's killing the world. We need to get out of here, and we need to get away from people." Rainbow suggested.

"As soon as we find a way out, we take it. We bring the others, and we warn the world about this." I said.

"We should record what we see. We have that camera, and they don't have a problem with it." Rainbow said.

"I'll keep it on me." I offered.

Sunset nodded and handed the camera over. I placed it on my neck and checked the photos. Whoever took it was there at the Battle of The Bands as it was full of the Dazzlings on the stage, there was even a video of them turning into sirens.

"This might be the golden ticket to saving the world." I said.

"What is it?" Sunset asked as she looked through the camera.

"This is amazing! Who could've captured this?!" Rainbow asked.

"Whoever it is, I hope they're still alive." I said.

"I doubt it..." Sunset said as she looked out her window.

We were silent as Sunset quickly killed the hopeful mood.

"Okay, here's the plan: The place seems less guarded at night. We get the others, and high-tail it to the south wall, we go under the sewers, then we head to civilization to warn everyone." I said.

"Alright, it's a plan." Rainbow said.

Sunset was silent as she kept looking out her window.

Tonight's the night. We're breaking the hell out of here tonight.

"Here's how we do this: I get the others, you check the wall." I said.

"And how about me?" Sunset asked.

"I saw you step up when Adagio offered, what do you want to do?" I asked.

"I don't know." She responded.

"Well, take the rest of today to think about it. Meanwhile, Sunset and I got Zeypher and Norman. Then, we get Rainbow, Twilight, and Applejack." I planned.

"It's a plan, I'll give it that. But what happens when we get caught?" Sunset asked.

I was silent. Truth is, I don't know what I'd have to do.

"Worst case, bullets fly." I said coldly as I grabbed a 12-Gauge from the closet and slung it across my back.

"I got you." Sunset said as she grabbed the gun Adagio gave her and started working on a makeshift holster.

I grabbed a kitchen knife and stuck it in my belt. I could see Sunset's face in disarray and slight panic.

"Do whatever you have to do..." Sunset said.

After arming up, I started rallying the others with Sunset. The sun was starting to reach the treeline; we didn't have much time. I saw Zeypher outside his house.

"What are we doing?" He asked.

"You'll see, just stay close. Can you shoot?" I asked.

"Yeah. Why?"

I handed him a pistol I "borrowed" from an abandoned gun store when no-one was looking. Zeypher knew what was happening and stuck the gun inside his belt and covered it up with his shirt.

"Let's do this." Zeypher said.

"Alright, get Rainbow." I said.

"I'm here." Rainbow said as she held a baseball bat.

"You need a gun." I said, handing her a Uzi I also "borrowed".

"Got it." Rainbow said as she slung it over her back.

"They don't seem to care that we have guns. These're just in case things go south." I assured her.

"Sure." Rainbow said as she started walking to Sweet Apple Acres.

Or now, the Prison.

Applejack tried to take out one of the guards with a shiv about a few weeks ago and was now in confinement in the barn until the Dazzlings develop a prison.

We entered the barn and saw Applejack behind a cage they put up. Dirty, beaten, slightly crying.

"Psst. AJ!" I whispered.

She didn't move. She just stayed there.

"Applejack! Where're bustin' you out." Rainbow said.

I grabbed bolt cutters out of my pack and cut the weak chain-link, and slowly put my hand on AJ's shoulder.

"GET OFFA ME!" AJ choked, as she shoved me away.

"AJ, it's me. Lookit, it's me." I said.

AJ showed no sign of listening. I began to notice cuts on her arms, her clothes covered with blood...

"AJ..." I started.

I then noticed a noose tied in front of her.

"No. No, you can't! I won't let you do this, Applejack." I said, trying to untie the noose.

"DO YOU KNOW WHAT THEY DID TO ME?! DO YOU HAVE THE SLIGHTEST CLUE?!" AJ panicked.

"Applejack..." Rainbow said, starting to tear up.

I realized what she wanted. She wanted to die.

"I'll help you. Over there, there's a double-barrel. Take it." AJ said.

I went over and opened a cabinet. Indeed, sitting there, was a 12-Gauge, Double-Barrel Shotgun. I took it off the cabinet, and traded it for the Pump-Action slung over my shoulder. I went over and handed it to AJ.

"Next time they come in to... do whatever, you kill 'em." I said.

"I wish there was another way... I wish I could come with Y'all. But I can't." AJ said as she loaded the shotgun.

I nodded, wiped a tear, and kissed her forehead.

"Let's go get Twilight." I said with my voice cracked mortally.

Twilight got the better end of the stick. She was assigned to research for a way to take over Earth's defenses. She, of course, lied about our nuclear arsenal, along with our firearms. She was on break when I grabbed her.

"We're breaking out." I said.

"Who's got Norman?" Twilight asked.

Shit... The sun was set, and the guards were unassigned.

"There's no time. Curfew's in 4 minutes. They'll catch us out here lookin' for him. We have to go, and we have to go NOW." I said.

BOOM!

I heard a faint explosion come from the east. I didn't need to look to know what it was.

Applejack.

"Come on, we gotta go!" I said.

We made a break for the southern wall, which was lower than the rest, and had a form of escape tunnel that we noticed. We made it and started opening the tunnel...

When someone saw us.

"Hey, stop right there!" The guard said.

We didn't stop, we went faster.

The guard came closer and drew his weapon.

"If you refuse to stop, I will contact the others... Our hivemind will receive my signal and we won't rest until we find you..." The guard said.

I knew what he was about to do. I grabbed AJ's Double-Barrel, drew it, and fired.

The guard collapsed dead, but the tunnel was opened. We hopped in, and I realized that I couldn't close the door.

"What is it?" Rainbow asked.

"If we leave that tunnel open, they'll come out into the world. How do we--" I was interrupted by a familiar face peeking into the tunnel, holding an Assault Rifle, had a form of makeshift armor on, and had a pack on her back.

"Sunset?" I asked.

She then grabbed the manhole, jumped into the tunnel, sealing the exit along with her hopping in, and released the manhole, falling to our level.

"Where's Norman?" I asked 'Rambo' Sunset.

"He's not coming." She said sharply as she paced forward.

We caught up and started jogging through the sewers until we were a good distance from the city. I found the nearest manhole and peeked my head out. What I saw was an empty highway. I whistled and we headed up.

"What about, you know, these?" Rainbow asked, pointing to our heavy weapons.

I prepared for this with a duffel bag and handed it to the others. We put our weapons inside, zipped it up, and headed back up into the world. What we saw was a road sign reading
