"Ah you sure about this Sugarcube?" Apple Jack asked as Twilight paced around, levitating a book in front of her.
It had been two weeks since The Mane 6 beat the snot out of Tirek, as Rainbow Dash so eloquently put it, and Twilight wanted to try one of the spells that Trixie had done with The Alicorn Amulet, the de-ageing spell. She had bought her friends down here for two reasons. One, she got her most powerful magic from friendship so Twilight thought that by them being there, it could help make her magic stronger. The second reason was simple: Test Subjects.
"I am sure" Twilight, who had now put the book down and faced her friends, insisted. She glanced between her five closest friends, trying to decide on who to pick. Not Fluttershy or Apple Jack, the ponies had to be a hundred percent willing to let Twilight do whatever she wanted to do to them. Wait, count out Rainbow Dash as well, she didn't look at all comfortable. And that only left Rarity and Pinkie Pie. Rarity was willing but Twilight knew that somehow Sweetie Belle would find out and tease her sister with it for weeks. Seriously, Sweetie Belle is part ninja, Twilight thought.
That only left Pinkie Pie. She was as important as the others, even more important, she kept Ponyville happy, but if she got turned into a foal, she could continue to do that if something went wrong. She was both willing and comfortable to be changed in whatever way Twilight pleased. Slightly touched, Twilight swallowed "Pinkie Pie, please step forward."
Pinkie Pie did a little squeal and bounced forwards. "OhMyGosh! ThisIsSoExciting! IHaveNeverBeenSoExcited! WellExceptForWhenYou MovedToPonyvilleButIMeanReally! WhoCanTopThat?!" Twilight placed a hoof over Pinkies mouth.
"I am going to let go now, and I need you to concentrate, okay" Twilight said slowly. Pinkie nodded and sat down, curling her poofy mane around her. Twilights horn started to glow. Pinkie Pie was raised up into the air, and,similar to the way Flutterbat had been turned into Fluttershy, a light purple light surrounded Pinkie,blocking her off from view. Very slowly, the light became light pink, as did the magic around Twilight's horn.
"Whats happening?" asked Fluttershy, but Twilight didn't answer. She was too busy staring intently at the now light pink, swirling glow. Then the twirling mass exploded.
Anypony outside Twilight's Castle would see a bright pink,blinding flash of light appear through the windows for a split second, before vanishing.
When Twilight came to, she found the bodies of her best friends thrown across the floor. Panicking, she teleported to her hooves. "Is everypony okay?" she asked frantically.
"We're good, but what happened?" Rainbow stood up,along with the others.
"My spell somehow backfired, something to do with Pinkies aura- Pinkie" Twilight looked around the room. "Where is she?!"
"Everyone split up and search"ordered Apple Jack and they all began to search the giant room.
"Oh my . . . " murmured Rarity,backing away from a shadowy corner, wide eyed.
"Rarity, whats wrong?" asked Fluttershy coming over to see.

"Twilight you need to see this, it's simply darling!" cried Rarity, as she and Fluttershy stood there staring at the corner. Twilight,Rainbow Dash and Apple Jack came over to see what all the fuss was about.
In the corner, a young filly with a light pink coat and a dark poofy mane sat. She seemed to be sucking on her own tail. Seeing the strange ponies, the filly slowly inched backwards slightly.
"I can't believe it!" Twilight squealed "I did it! I actually did it! YAHOOOOO!" Realizing that her best friends were staring at her, Twilight blushed and cleared her throat "sorry" she muttured.
"Twilight it's great you managed to do what you did but can you turn Pinkie back now?" asked Rarity. Twilight sighed and did the spell once again. However this time there was no flash of light, and when Pinkie was put on the ground, she was still a filly.
"Why didn't it work?" wondered Fluttershy,eyes round with worry.
"Try it again, Twi" urged Rainbow Dash.
Twilight tried again. And again. And again. But every time she tried, Pinkie always ended up being the same age.
"Twilight, whats going on?" Rainbow asked, her voice showing deep concern for her pranking buddy.
"That flash of light was never meant to happen. Somehow, Pinkies aura was reversed."
"Meaning what exactly?" asked A.J
"It means that Pinkie is a filly" Twilight swallowed "and we can't change her back."
