                                             Chapter 5: The Warrior Ceremony






The sun was shining brightly over the camp as it washed all of the dark moonlight away for the next day to come. Twilight woke up with the sound of meowing and purring in the den and saw Brightpaw, Rarepaw, Amberpaw and Swiftpaw talking loudly.

"Girls, what's going on?" Twilight meowed as she opened her massive cat jaws in a yawn. "Were becoming warriors today, Sparky!" Brightpaw yowled as she hopped up and down and Applejack spoke up.

"Fluttershy got her medicine cat name last moonhigh it's Rosepetal." Amberpaw purred as Firestar called the clan to a meeting. "Sparkpaw, Rarepaw, Brightpaw, Amberpaw and Swiftpaw, you all have been doing great in training and it's time for all of you to became warriors. Sparkpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code even if it cost your life?" Firestar asked as Sparkpaw nodded her purple and pink head.

"I do." Sparkpaw promised as Firestar gave her her warrior name, Sparkheart. The rest of the cat's got their warrior name and Applekit, Mintkit, Lightingkit and Thornkit were apprentices.

Rarejewel, Brightblaze, Amberpool and Swiftstorm went to the warrior's den and made moss nests and went to their apprentices. Swiftstorm's apprentice was Lightingpaw, Rarejewel's apprentice is Mintpaw and Amberpool's apprentice is Applepaw.

The next day, Sparkheart was talking with Brambleclaw about him being deputy. "So, being deputy is a very important duty for a cat." Brambleclaw explained as Sparkheart listened carefully.

Amberpool and Brightblaze walked up to them. Sparkheart stopped talking to Brambleclaw for one second to talk to her friends. "What is it you guys?" Twilight meowed, Brightblaze and Amberpool giggled a bit.

"We know that you like Brambleclaw, Sparky!" Brightblaze purred as Amberpool giggled a bit more. Sparkheart blushed as she protested she dons't until she gave up. "Fine, I do like Brambleclaw...but he will never fall for a pony-lifed cat like me." Twilight said as Brightblaze got an idea.


"We can set you both up on a mating date!" Brightblaze explained as she added, "I know that Brambleclaw is busy being deputy, but he can make some time for you too and become mates and have kits together!" Brightblaze quietly shouted so Brambleclaw couldn't hear them.

Sparkheart took the idea and Brightblaze went to talk to Brambleclaw about it, when Rainbow and Graystripe padded up to Twilight. "Hey Twilight! Me and Graystripe are mates now because Millie went back to her old kittypet life!" Rainbow shouted as Graystripe licked her face gently as she blushed.

"That's great you guys!" Twilight said, I guess I will have a mate too, Twilight added quietly. Rainbow and Graystripe left as Twilight thought about the wonders of having kits with Brambleclaw...then she remembered Squrrielflight.
