Chapter 16
Two Sides

"Soarin?" Rainbow asked,
"You've been going blank a lot today, are you alright?"
Soarin shook his head frantically trying hard to get himself back into the real world.
"And by shaking my head it doesn't mean no." He added, receiving a smile from Rainbow and a confused expression from Twilight.
"Guys Focus. We need to find the answer before King Sombra corrupts another innocent mind. This isn't time for wasting time...tongue twister...."
Twilight continued to flip through the book Soarin found silently.  The day seemed to go on forever.
"I wonder what the others are up too?" Rainbow asked as she made herself comfortable on the edges of the table.
"Don't ask me... I have no clue." Soarin replied.
Dash rolled her eyes while turning her head so fast her hair seemed to not have moved, she faced Twilight.
"Do you at least have a clue?"
Twilight shook her head and finally looked up.
"If you want to know so much, why don't you just ask them? Just go downstairs."
She continued reading.
Dash looked at the door and turned to face Soarin.
"Wanna go see what the others are up too?"
Soarin opened his mouth to speak but no words came out.
"It's okay," Dash said with a fake smile,
"I can go by myself..."
"NO!" Soarin shouted, even making Twilight look up.
"Ha..ha...I mean sure... I'll come with..."
Rainbow rolled her eyes.
"Just hurry up already,"
She opened up her wings.
"Race you down the stairs."
Soarin grinned.
"Oh... It is so on."
Twilight just raised her hand hastily not looking up from her book,
"Just fifteen minutes kay?"
Soarin nodded and took off after Dash.




"Woah..." Rainbow stuttered.
"Are you guys throwing a party...?"
Pinkie smiled widely.
"OF COURSE SILLY! WE WERE SO SAD WHEN YOU GUYS DITCHED US SO WE DECIDED TO HAVE SOME FUN ON OUR OWN!"
Dash blinked.
"I thought Twilight told me that you were okay with it....?"
Soarin nodded.
"Well," Rarity started,
"We didn't want to hurt her feelings, but really dear, wouldn't you feel the same?"
Rainbow looked back and forth from Rarity to the party. Rarity to the party.
"I guess...yes..."
Fluttershy smiled warmly.
"Would you like to join us?"
Dash looked at Soarin and grinned mischievously.
"Twilight wouldn't mind us returning slightly late, she has her books... Soar?"
Soarin grinned back.
"I guess lets get this party started..."
Pinkie grinned and looked at Applejack.
"WE HAVE PIE!"
Soarin looked very happy.
"I'm really liking this!"
The friends partied for way longer then the expected fifteen minutes. None of them released that Twilight had been standing there for quite a while now.
"Ahem..."
Everyone turned and Rarity used her magic to make the music turn off.
Rainbow blushed with embarrassment and rubbed her hand on the back of her head.
"So..."
Twilight sighed.
"We were supposed to be working Rainbow Dash. While you and  Soarin were busy partying, I was working! I found out a heap of information. You said that you would be back within FIFTEEN MINUTES! BUT YOU WEREN'T! YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO BE TAKING THIS VERY SERIOUSLY LIKE I AM!"
She said this all very quickly and loudly.
Finally Rarity spoke breaking the awkward silence.
"It wasn't her fault Twilight... we started it because we got jealous that you were busy off saving a world when we were put in the corner...."
Applejack, Fluttershy and Pinkie all nodded.
"It's true...." They all said.
'We're very sorry..."
Twilight suddenly felt bad for shouting at her friends like that. They just felt left out.
"I...I...I'm sorry that I shouted at you like that Rainbow, I didn't know you felt like this guys...why didn't you tell me?"
Applejack hesitated and spoke...
"We thought you might get upset... next time we'll tell you how we feel."
Twilight smiled,
"I could use a few extra hands finding out all this info...would you guys like to help Soarin, Rainbow and I?"
Applejack, Rarity and Fluttershy all nodded happily but Pinkie Pie shouted...
"YES!"
Rainbow grinned at all her friends.
"Welcome to the team."




"Sombra and Tirek ah able to come back from the dead..." Applejack read aloud.
Rarity nodded and noted it down on an extra sheet of paper with all the facts they already had;

-King Sombra uses dark magic. 
-Black crystals shoot out of the ground as he advances towards the Crystal Empire, and he turns into a shadow in various scenes, dodging attacks and traveling large distances.
- His horn dissolves when it touches Princess Cadance's protective shield around the empire, and he is eventually repelled by her Crystal Heart magic.
-He's only the scariest pony ever -- he can even appear as black smoke. King Sombra enslaved the Crystal Ponies, and when Princesses Celestia and Luna banished him, he made the Crystal Empire disappear. The ponies used the Crystal Heart, plus the power of love, to restore the Empire -- and shatter this evil Unicorn forever.

Fluttershy was grabbing the books down for Pinkie Pie to hand to Applejack who read them aloud and Rarity who took the notes. They made a very good team.
" Princess Celestia describes him as "a unicorn whose heart was black as night" and took over the Crystal Empire."
"Yes got that down..."

Twilight smiled, she was glad that all her friends could get involved.
But this one note had her worried.
"If he haunts you for too long you become insane."
