Twilight woke up to the brightness that was coming from her bedroom window. She rubbed her eyes and grabbed her glasses from the small table next to her bed. She moved the curtains to the window next to her bed and saw that it was all white outside. She jumped out of bed and ran towards the living room to find Shining Armor on the couch watching the TV. His finance, Cadence was on her cell phone, talking to Principal Cinch.
“I think it’s a wise choice,” Cadence said. “You enjoy your 3-day weekend as well. Bye.”
Twilight screamed, “Is school out today?”
“It sure is, Twily,” Shining Armor told her sister. “No school this Friday.”
“And I don’t have to show up to Crystal Prep,” said Cadence. “Principal Cinch is going to leave the school closed today, since there’s about 3 inches outside.”
This was due to the fact that CPA was a private school, unlike CHS.
Twilight replied, “3 inches? I wonder what I should do today?”
Shining Armor said, “I’m sure you’ll find something to do for fun, Twily.”
“Well, let me cook breakfast for you two.” Cadence started to walk to the kitchen, only to have her cell phone go off. “I’m guessing that’s Luna calling, wanting to make sure I’m fine.”
It was VP Luna from CHS calling Cadence. She wanted to make sure that the whole group is doing fine and that Twilight understand that she doesn’t have to come to school today. After she hung up her cell phone, she made her way to the kitchen and started fixing waffles for breakfast. Once they were served, she called them over to the table.
As they were eating, Twilight said, “I’m guessing that our parents are worried about us?”
“Don’t worry, Twily. I’ve already sent them a text to them,” Shining Armor responded. “I’m sure their still asleep overseas while on their world book tour.”
As they finished eating, Shining Armor grabbed the dishes and took them to the sink to be rinse before placing them in the dishwasher. They started to hear a banging sound from the front door.
“I got it.” Twilight ran to the front door and opened it.
“WHAT’S UP!!!”
It was Indigo Zap, who’s loud burst caused Twilight to fall backwards.
Twilight fixed her glasses and said, “Indigo, what are you doing here?”
“We figured you want a ride outside,” Indigo replied.
Twilight said, “But school’s out. And what do you mean ‘we’?”
Indigo Zap moved out of the way for Twilight to see Sugarcoat, Sour Sweet, Lemon Zest, and Sunny Flare in winter gear.
“I’m sure we can explain,” said Sugarcoat.
“But maybe you can let us in first,” Sour Sweet kindly said, before she ranted, “Because it’s freaking cold out here.”
Twilight invited her friends inside before closing the door.
Cadence saw who it was and said, “Girls, what are you doing here? Or better yet, how did you get here?”
“ATVs,” Sunny Flare answered. “Me, Sugarcoat, and Indigo Zap own one each. Lemon Zest rode on Indigo, and Sour Sweet rode on mine.”
“We’re sure that Twilight would like to meet her friends for some snow time fun,” Indigo said. “So we’re here to help.”
“Let me call my friends before getting changed.” Twilight went back to her room to grab her cell phone and called Sunset first. “Sunset, it’s Twilight.”
Sunset replied, “Twilight, I was just about to call you. What is it?”
“Are you girls doing anything today?”
“We were going to meet up at the school statue first, along with the Dazzlings. Think the roads are cleared enough for the busses to drive?”
“Actually, Indigo and her friends were offering to bring me up there on their ATVs.”
“That’s even better. Have them come over. It will be great fun.”
“Sure, we’ll be there in about an hour. Bye.”
Twilight got changed into her clothes and put on her winter gear before rejoining the others.
“We’re meeting at the CHS statue,” Twilight told the others. “Do you have an extra helmet for me to wear?”
“I have one with my ATV. But can I see your glasses first?” Twilight handed her glasses to Sugarcoat, and she attached a strap to the ends before handing them back to Twilight. When she put them on, Sugarcoat adjusted the strap so that it was tight. “There. That should hold your glasses in place. I use one myself.”
“Thanks Sugarcoat.”
“Well then, what are we waiting for?” Indigo yelled.
All six of them got onto the ATVs, this time with Twilight sitting behind Sugarcoat. They started to make their way on the scraped, slushy roads when they came across a car stuck on an intersection, spinning it’s wheels. Indigo came up to the driver’s side and recognized the light blue haired driver, who lowered her window.
“Nurse Snowheart. Trying to get to work?”
“I am, but I think I’m stuck trying to make the turn. Think you can help me out, Indigo?”
“Sure thing. Let me get my friends to help out.”
Indigo explained to her friends what going on and how them plan to help. Sunny Flare’s and Indigo Zap’s ATVs were placed right next to the car’s rear bumper. Lemon Zest and Sour Sweet went to one side to help the car turn, and Sugarcoat went to direct from the front while Twilight helped with Sugarcoat’s directions to the others. The two ATVs were pushing the car forward while the two girls started to push the car in the direction it wanted to turn. After a minute of trying, the car was freed from the curb and was able to make its way towards the hospital. The girls waved towards the car, in which responded with a honk on the horn. The girls regrouped and made their way to CHS.
As they were leaving the downtown area, they could see some cars getting stuck on the icy, slushy road going into the downtown area. They were able to help get some of them out of the slippery stuff and get them back on the traced path that past cars created. They even stopped to help get a donut van get moving by bouncing the back end to give it traction before it could drive on it’s own.
When the girls arrived at CHS, they were seeing what looked like three T-Rexes with snow shovels and a lady with puffy orange hair videotaping the scene.
“Hey Adagio, what’s going on here?” asked Twilight.
“Oh, Pinkie Pie wanted to do something funny with my sisters while waiting for the others. She had three T-Rex costumes for them to wear, and wanted me to videotape it. Besides, I’m still waiting for the others to get here.”
“Now that’s hilarious,” Lemon Zest said, pointing to the T-Rexes.
“Have to agree with you there, Lemon,” Indigo replied as she set her arm on Lemon’s shoulder.
Lemon Zest yelled, “Hey Pinkie, I thought your kind was extinct!”
One of the T-Rexes turned towards the girls, with its head shaking like a bobble-head, and waved at them. Then it went back to shoveling more snow.
The other girls finally arrived and looked to see the T-Rexes shoveling, realizing that Pinkie was behind all this.
Rainbow Dash yelled, “Hey Pinkie, who’d you drag into this stunt?”
Another T-Rex turned towards Dash and said “SHUT UP!!!” They realized that it was Aria who responded.
“Come on. Have some fun,” said the last T-Rex, whose voice sounded like Sonata.
“Yea sis. They won’t know it’s you when we upload it online,” said Adagio.
“YOU WHAT???” Aria, in her costume, dropped her shovel and started running towards Adagio, starting a chase between the two. “YOU DO THAT AND I’LL KILL YOU!!!”
“Only if you catch me,” Adagio said.
The chase lasted a moment before Aria lost her footing and landed face down in the snow. All the girls started to laugh at what just took place.
“I think that’s enough for now,” said Sunset.
“You might be right,” Adagio replied and turned off the recorder on Pinkie’s cell phone.
Pinkie, along with Aria and Sonata, took off the T-Rex costumes and placed them in a big bag before joining the others. Adagio handed Pinkie back her cell phone.
“That was fun,” Sonata said. Pinkie shook her head in agreement with a wide smile.
Fluttershy walked up to Aria and said, “You ok, Aria?”
“Yea. The snow cushioned the fall.”
“That’s good.”
“So, is that all that’s been going on?” Applejack asked the others.
“Well, we had to stop and help a fellow nurse that I know who was stuck,” said Indigo.
“Well that was mighty generous of you, dear. Not everyone can have a day off when you’re need 24/7,” said Rarity.
“So, what do you all want to do?” asked Sunset.
Pinkie started waving her have, saying, “I know, I know. How about the park? There’s a hillside there we can slide down on. I’ve already have some sleds with me.” She pointed to the few sleds that were next to the statue.
“I brought a couple of snowboards to use as well,” Indigo added. “We’ll bring our ATVs with us to the park.”
So the girls went to the park’s hillside with their gear. Indigo grabbed the snowboards and handed one to Rainbow Dash along with an extra helmet. Both of them went against each other, trying to see who can do the better quick trick, since the hillside wasn’t big. While that was going on, the other girls took turns on the sleds going down the hill, crashing at the bottom at times. During that time, someone was busy recording what was going on by taking turns.
After a couple of hours of fun, they took a break and stopped by Sugercube Corner, which was nearby, for some hot cocoa. The shop was empty, with the exception of Mr. And Mrs. Cake running the place. They took the time chatting and looking at the videos they made while warming up. Afterwards, they went back outside and had a snowball fight for an hour before deciding to call it a day. Most of the girls decided to walk home while a few others went back to the downtown area on their ATVs. Indigo decided to drop Twilight off at her home before leaving for the afternoon.
Twilight entered her home and was greeted by Cadence and Shining Armor.
“So, did you have a good time?” asked Cadence.
“I did,” replied Twilight. “Helped a nurse, saw dinosaurs clearing the walkways, and snowboarding and sledding, just about everything.”
“I’m guessing there’s going to be a video about the dinosaur thing?” asked Shining Armor.
“Pinkie Pie should be loading it soon,” replied Twilight. “But for now, my body is tired out.”
Cadence got up and walked to the kitchen, saying, “Then I’ll start fixing an early dinner for us, Twilight.”
“Thanks, I could go for that right now.”
