It was a beautiful summer afternoon. Two young sisters, Scootaloo, a young pegasus, and Apple Bloom, a young earth pony, were hanging in the back yard with their friends Sweetie Belle, a young unicorn, Twist and Babs Seed, who were both earth ponies as well. Their mother, Cookie Crumbles, was busy shopping at the grocery store for supplies for her and her husbands trip. The eldest sister, Rarity a unicorn, was busy hanging out in her room when she picked up her phone. She dialed a number than waited impatiently as her crush, Spike the dragon, to answer the phone. When he did, he sounded very tired.

"Uhh, hello?" Rarity giggled, excited that he picked up his phone.

"Hello, Spike!! It's me, Rarity!" Spike smiled slightly as he heard her voice.

"Oh, hi Rarity. You realize it's like... 2am in Maris." he said. Spike was currently vacationing in Maris, Prance for a while during the summer and Rarity forgot the there was a different time line. She blushed and giggled sheepishly.

"Oops! Ahahah... Sorry... I... was just wondering how your vacation's going." Spike sighed as he laid back down in his bed

"Actually, it's funny you called because you were in my dream just now." Rarity gasped excitedly, Spike was dreaming about her?

"Really?" However her mood changed quickly when she heard a noise in her back yard. Knowing what it was, she tried to ignore it. Spike, oblivious to whats going on, continued.

Yeah, it was weird... You and I were in this Dixieland band and there was an iguana playing an oboe..." Rarity tried to listen but snapped when the sound in the back yard increased.

"I gotta go, Spike." She interrupted. "I'll call you later." Spike chuckled slightly as the phone hung up, knowing exactly whats going on. Rarity ran down stairs, dialing a new number. When her mother picked up, she didn't bother to let her speak.

"Mother!"Do you hear that?" she asked, knowing her mother was close home. Cookie gave an exasperated sigh as she looked outside the taxi window.

"I can't hear anything over all this road construction." she responded as she looked outside the window. Many stallions were busy working on fixing the road. Rarity ran to the window with her phone in her magic next to her ear. Outside, Scootaloo, Apple Bloom, Twist. Sweetie Belle and Babs were cheering on a huge pony robot who was currently jumping rope. Rarity groaned as she stared at the contraption.

"But Mother, they've built a giant...rope jumping robot and it's... " she paused as she placed the phone on her chest. "Scootaloo will you turn that thing off? I'm trying to bust you!" She shouted at them. The orange pegasus shrugged her shoulders.

We can't, its become self-aware! The jump roping was his idea!" she shouted back, pointing at the huge robot. She heard the front door open and close, indicating her mothers arrival. She immediately rushed over to her.

"Mother!" she rushed over to her, causing her to almost drop her grocery's she just baught.

"Mother! Mother!" Rarity exclaimed, pointing to the back door. Cookie Crumbles sighed tiredly, the same routine everyday.

"Okay, I'm here. What did you wanna tell me?" she said. Impatient, Rarity went behind her and started to push.

"Backyard now!" The pants wearing unicorn glared down at her daughter as she continued to push her.

"Excuse me?" she asked irratedly. Rarity stopped pushing, realizing how she looked, and blushed embarrassingly.

"Backyard now, please?" she asked, batting her eyelashes. Her mother rolled her eyes and started walking to the back, Rarity quickly at her heels. While at the back, the five fillies watched as the robot continue to jump rope.

"I jump, therefore I am." said the robot. A smacking sound was heard and all the fillies turned their heads to see a small alligator.

"Oh, there you are, Gummy." said Scootaloo. While all the fillies distracted by the new arrival, nopony noticed that the robots jumping rope got caught by a near by plane flying up ahead lifting the rope and the robot just as the two mares arrived at the door.

"Right back here, Mother!" said Rarity, facing back on the back yard. "Look, there they are." When Cookie looked, all she saw was the five fillies and the alligator.

"Hi, kids. Did you have fun today?" Scootaloo and the rest nodded their heads.

"Yes, yes we did." she said as Rarity stared outside, mouth agape, dumbfounded. Cookie nodded her head.

"Good for you. I would've been home sooner, but it took me an hour for the taxi driver to drive around the road construction in the neighborhood. It sure would be helpful if they could just make the days a little longer." she chuckled to herself as she walked back inside. "Who do I call about that?"

Scootaloo sighed as she and Apple Bloom started to walk back inside, waving good bye to her friends. "Our vacation is more than halfway over, and what have we accomplished?"

Apple Bloom gave her a 'Really' look.

"Okay, so we built a rollercoaster, we traveled through time twice, found Atlantis, blah blah blah blah blah blah blah, see? We've hardly done anything!

Apple Bloom rolled her eyes.

"We need a real challenge. We need to create the biggest, longest, funnest summer day of all time!" Scootaloo gasped as she turned to her yellow sister.

"Apple Bloom, I know what we're gonna do tomorrow!"

Discord the draconequus was laying back in his airplane chair, with hiw step daughter sitting next to him reading a thick book.

"Well, Twilight, are you looking forward to seeing Tokyo on our daddy-daughter trip?" he asked. The purple unicorn shrugged, not looking away from her book.

"Yeah... I was really hoping for Maris. I mean, I did drop all those hints, but I guess Tokyo is more exotic." she smiled, thinking of all the things she could learn there. Discord chuckled, happy to spend time with Twilight, but he also has other plans as well.

"Yes, that's why I chose Japan over Maris at the last moment! That makes perfect sense. There is no other ulterior motive behind it all, so, you know..." he trailed off, not knowing what else to say. After the divorce, him and his step-daughter have been very distant lately, so he really wanted this trip to go well and so he could also get some 'work' done as well. The planes speaker crackled as the captain voice was heard.

"Uh, this is your captain speaking, we're expecting a slight delay for our arrival to Tokyo." Discord groaned in annoyance

"That's always something. Turbulence, headwinds," he looked out the window, "giant jump-roping robots..." Twilight raised an eyebrow at that last part. Outside, the robot from earlier was still hanging to the rope, which was still caught by the planes wing.

"I dangle, therefore, I am..." said the robot.

Back at the house, Rarity watched as her mother and father was packing for their trip.

"So Mother, while you're away, I'm in charge, right? For two whole days?" she asked excitedly. Wanting nothing more then to be in charge of the girls. Cookie nodded as she folded some laundry with her magic.

"That's right. Remember, no stallions over." Rarity rolled her eyes.

"Of course, Mother. Spike's in Maris anyway. So... When you say I'm in charge, what exactly do you mean by that?" she asked, wanting to be certain she can control the girls. The mother sighed gently.

"Well, to put it simply, I mean, 'You're in charge.'" Rarity's grin widened

"So if Scootaloo and Apple Bloom are up to something bust-worthy, and I am, as you say... 'In charge', I have free reign to call you as many times as necessary?" she asked, getting more and more excited.

"Quite the contrary, Rarity. Being in charge means you handle things yourself." Cookie responded as she started to zip her suit case. "Yup. Basically, if you're really in charge, you won't need to call at all. You see, if the girls are doing something bust-worthy, that means you're not doing your job and you would be in trouble too." Rarity gasped, as the mother smirked lightly. Now she wouldn't have to dread her daughters phone calls for two days.

"Woah, woah, hold on! By busting the boys, I bust myself?" Rarity asked, but didn't get an answer because of her father, Hondo Flanks.

"Ah, there's the rub. Right next to the pair o' ducks." he cracked up at his own joke as he levitated both his rub and a book. "I'm also packing this book of puns!" The white mustached unicorn said as he zipped up his suitcase. After the goodbyes, all three children waved as the taxi driver trotted off with their parents.

"Bye kids!" Cookie called as they drove away.

"Bye, Mother! Bye, Father! Have a nice time!" Rarity called back.

"Have a awesome trip!" Scootaloo shouted, causing Rarity to winced at the volume.

For the rest of the evening, Rarity went back to her room, trying to call Spike again while both Scootaloo and Apple Bloom planned for their big adventure the next day.
