On another usual evening, one of Crystal Prep’s best students, Sugarcoat, was in her bedroom studying and looking over notes she took for the day. She had everything memorized for tests and quizzes. Having high expectations at a school like Crystal Prep for a while is pretty much normal at this point. Sometimes people wonder if students like her ever get a break. Well….you’d be surprised!
Sugarcoat was finishing up studying for the night, she felt pretty worn out as she closed up her books and notes and put them in her backpack. She felt pretty comfortable in a long-sleeved purple shirt and black shorts with her long dark purple socks on that went up to her mid-thighs. She stretched then grabbed an H-Box controller and a headset. Wait….is she seriously? Yes. She’s about to play video games.
She turned her console on and signed into her account, her gamertag was called, SugarGirl61.
“I’ve been waiting all day to play this update. Let’s see what I have to deal with tonight.” Sugarcoat said to herself as she updated Gran Theft Auto.
She logged into the game and began to play. Her character walked out and went to her car. Before anything, another played side-winded her car right after she jumped in, then the player ran into a gas station and blew up.
“Wow. Nice driving Mario. You should consider taking it from a real pro.” Sugarcoat said in her deadpan voice as she drove off, cruising along at top speed. She hit someone on a bike and commented, “That’s why you wear a helmet.”
She checked the money that she had and decided to rob a store in the game, “What afraid to invite a girl to a job?” She commented as she stopped her car and walked her character in the store and took the money. She looked at the top right of her screen, seeing two stars pop up out of five. She saw a police car pull up and she immediately shot two of them down. She ran back to her car with good speed and drove off to get away from the cops as a third star popped up. She kept driving away finally going back down to two stars…..then one…..then finally she was clear.
“That was too close.” She said as she saw a couple players causing havoc. Sugarcoat chuckled and grinned, “This is too good.”
She took out a bomb and threw it at the two, taking them out, “I’ll be taking those. Thank you.” Sugarcoat took some money from them.
“Sugarcoat?? Is that you??” A certain fellow Crystal Prep said to her in her microphone. Sugarcoat read that IndigoZ24 and RockerLemon had joined the game, AKA Indigo Zap and Lemon Zest.
Sugarcoat froze up after hearing her.
“Sugarcoat? I can hear you!” Indigo said.
“U-Umm...maybe?” Sugarcoat quickly said.
“Dude I didn’t know you played video games!” Lemon called out.
“Especially GTA!” Indigo was surprised.
Sugarcoat finally regain composure and replied, “Well, it helps me with strategy and skill. It keeps me going after I study. It’s also good because I get the rush from playing this game and seeing all the fails that other gamers do.” She adjusted her glasses.
“Duuuuuude.” Lemon laughed.
“I have to admit. You make a good point. The fails in this game are hilarious!” Indigo chuckled.
“I guess I can play with you guys. Where you guys at?” Sugarcoat asked.
“Right-” BOOM! Indigo ran over Sugarcoat’s character, “There!” Indigo snorted from laughter.
“Really?” Sugarcoat asked in deadpan.
“You walked right into that man!” Lemon laughed with Indigo.
Sugarcoat respawned near them.
“Hey, Sugarcoat, you wanna know of this cheat where you can select where to respawn?” Indigo asked.
“Ok I guess.” Sugarcoat shrugged.
Indigo told Sugarcoat what buttons to press for a cheat code, Sugarcoat didn’t know much about cheat codes. She never was a fan of cheat codes, she only used them when she needed to. She finished and suddenly she respawned falling from the sky without a parachute. Indigo and Lemon cracked up.
“I should’ve known.” Sugarcoat rolled her eyes, then adjusting her character to fly towards the water.
“Yeah you can land in the water, just try not to belly flop!” Indigo told her. Sugarcoat adjusted her character more and more, trying to land in the river as she came down like an airplane would and landed safely. She swam up to them.
“You guys done?” Sugarcoat asked.
“Yeah,” Indigo laughed, “We are.”
“Come on, we’re by the airport, let’s go fly some planes!” Lemon’s character ran over to a jet. Indigo grabbed a jet too. Sugarcoat followed them but into a fighter plane someone had tried to hide.
“Can’t fool me. Sorry.” Sugarcoat said as she jumped in.
“Come on, we’re not gonna tell you to press Y.” Lemon chuckled.
“I know what that does.” Sugarcoat replied.
“Aww.” Lemon wanted to trick her.
The three flew around the map for a while until Sugarcoat knew they were going to be off guard. She slowly backed away from the three.
“Where’d she go?” Indigo asked. Suddenly her plane blew up after Sugarcoat fired at it, then at Lemon.
“What?!” Lemon was in shock.
“She shot us down!” Indigo remarked.
“Yes I did.” Sugarcoat said in her deadpan tone, “Caught you off guard. All that I needed to do.” She took a sip of her juice box that sat on her nightstand.
“I must say, nice move.” Indigo laughed.
“Yeah dude, that’s what I call Thug Life.” Lemon chuckled.
“Well, you guys want to play a bit more? Maybe another game?” Indigo asked.
“What did you have in mind?” Sugarcoat asked.
“Minecraft?” Indigo asked.
Sugarcoat thought in silence, “Ok.”
“I’m sure she’s very strategic on this.” Lemon noted.
“Well, those creepers keep getting to me. I need to work on that.” Sugarcoat said.
The three laughed about and switched over to Minecraft, where they played to craft, build and of course fight off any bad guys in the game. Later that night, Sugarcoat turned her console off and rolled into bed feeling calm about the school day tomorrow.
