It was a warm summer evening at Sweet Apple Acres and Celestia's sun was falling behind the mountains to the west. Applejack was trotting towards the barn to get washed up for the night. "Ah'm mighty tired after all the hustle I did today," she chuckled to herself.
Above the farm, on a cloud looking down, a blue pegasus watched with hungry eyes. Her rainbow mane blowing in the gentle breeze. As the Earth Pony looked up in the direction of the pony, she ducked behind the cloud. After some time, the rainbow maned pony took flight into the air. Hmm looks like AJ's gone. Wonder where she- Rainbow Dash was cut off suddenly by something pulling on her tail. Rainbow Dash was grounded, gasping for air. Applejack stood by a tree with her lasso in her muzzle.
"Lookie what I caught," Applejack was grinning. "What are you doing around here, RD? And at this hour?" Rainbow Dash looked like she was about to bite through the rope around her tail. "What was that for?" Rainbow Dash asked, clearly agitated. "Sorry, but I've been spying you in the sky all afternoon watching me work," Applejack was taking her lasso off of Rainbow's tail. "I just thought that you'd like a quick drink, if you're in the mood." Applejack said with a smile. She knew that the mention of cider would get the pegasus rousing to go. Rainbow Dash looked up with a glint of hope in her eyes. "I'm always up for some cider!" She swooped around the Earth pony, excited to have a drink with her best friend.
The two ponies made their way into the barn. With the other members of the Apple family in bed, Applejack and Rainbow Dash quietly made their way into the kitchen. Applejack got two mugs out of the cupboard and gave one to Rainbow Dash, who was drooling in anticipation. Applejack filled her mug with a liquid from a big barrel, took a drink, and gave a big cheer "Whoowe, this is the best!" She filled Rainbow's mug.
After an hour of drinking, they were laughing and talking in drunken slurs. "You know what, Dash? *hic* I always thought you had a nice flank, *hic*," Applejack said . She smiled in a goofy way. "Hey, your flanks are more beautiful *hic* than mine." Rainbow Dash gave Applejack a sloppy kiss, blushing.
Applejack leaned over to the blue pony, licking Rainbow's cheek slowly. The pegasus smiled as Applejack's tongue rubbed her cheek. Rainbow Dash started to feel warm under her tail, blushing lightly. Apple Jack started kissing the mare slightly on the nose, Rainbow giggling quietly. Rainbow kissed Applejack on the lips, tired of waiting for her to kiss the blue pony.
Applejack smiled contently as she kissed deeply and truthfully. She finally felt like she had found her special somepony, someone who'd truly love her. Apple Jack ended the kiss, looking deeply into Rainbow's eyes. "Ah think that ah've always loved you, Rainbowww Dash."
"Ohmygosh! I was thinking the same thing! It's like I've never noticed it, but I love you, Applejack!" Rainbow Dash was crying into the farm pony's fur on her chest. She stopped when she felt Applejack's hoof gently rub against her back. When Rainbow Dash looked up, what she saw made her heart flutter. Apple Jack was smiling bigger than Rainbow Dash could ever remember. Rainbow Dash rose up to look Applejack at eye level. Rainbow hugged Applejack, clearly caring about her feelings. They kissed like nothing else mattered in the world.
They made their way up the stairs slowly, to not wake anypony. Applejack shut her door quietly, turned around, and smiled gently. "You're the most beautiful mare I've ever looked at, Rainbow Dash. Ah see you, and I feel mah heart melt." Applejack moved closer to her bed, which was occupied by a blue pegasus, with rainbow mane and tail. Rainbow Dash was looking at Applejack with a loving stare that said everything.
Applejack walked over to the side of the bed, blushing. She got into the bed, looking at the one that she loved.Rainbow Dash smiled and cuddled up next to the farm pony, wrapping her hooves around her in a loving embrace. They stayed awake, just cuddling, enjoying the closeness. Applejack was the one who broke the silence, "So what now? Are we going to be dating, or what?" The amount of silence was enough time for both of them to sober up. "Huh? I just thought it was the cider talking," Rainbow said flustered. She knew it wasn't the cider talking. For some time now, she had a thing for the country farm pony.
Applejack noticed the look Rainbow was giving her. "You don't look like it was the cider, do you care to talk about it?" The pegasus gave a hey sigh. "Ok, you got me," Rainbow blurted out. "Shh keep your voice down," Apple Jack looked like at any moment, Big Mac was going to run in her room, yelling. However, nothing happened. Sighing, Applejack looked back at Rainbow Dash. "Just try and keep it down? And continue..."
The pegasus sighed and continued, "I've had a crush on you for a long time now. Every time I come by and you are out here working, I watch you work. Sure at first, it was just a little attractiveness, but after two months... and I know, two months is a long time. I started watching the way you move your flanks. Is it just me or i it because you know that somepony is watching you?"
"I'll never say, it's just something I do..." Applejack said with a grin.
"Alright, Sugarcube. I'll see you around." Applejack gave a hug to a sleepy Rainbow Dash the next morning. "Ahh, why can't I just sleep in the barn?" She pouted, still hungover from last night. "Sorry, but I can come looking for you later, if that's okay with you." This made Rainbow perk up. "Sure, is 3PM okay?" Applejack nodded, making Rainbow grin from ear to ear. "Great! See ya then." The rainbow maned pegasus gave Applejack a kiss on her cheek, and zoomed off.
"Oh, ah bet we'll have a great time then," Applejack said under her breath, grinning.
