//------------------------------// // I've read enough fanfiction to know where this is going... // Story: Stronger Than You // by GarnettFox //------------------------------// It's amazing how lonely you can feel even when your surrounded by people everyday. When you know that your on the outside of the group no matter how hard you try, it really wears you down till you can barely stand getting up in the morning. That's been my daily life for years now, it could be my own damn fault, it could be everyone else's, it could be nature, it could be nurture. Who knows who cares? Still despite that I was...Not content but alright with my lot in life, I liked being on my own most of the time and I had my cartoons to nerd over. Especially Steven Universe, I still don't know if it was the action scenes, or the cuteness of the love you could really feel between the characters but I loved the show especially Garnet. So when I heard about MCM Comic Con near me I scraped together my paycheck's and made the best quality Garnet cosplay I could. Sure the Gauntlets where cardboard, third eye and Gem's painted on, wig heavy and uncomfortable and I couldn't afford a visor I could wear. But I was still proud of myself. Though it seemed I hear earned the glares and hatred of most other Con-goers owing to face I'm white as plain paper. After a hour of evil looks aimed at my back I was considering giving up and going home before a lynch mob of Otaku's started calling for my head. "My, my aren't you a brave one?" I almost jumped out of my skin and awkwardly stared at the guy who'd startled me. "....Hi?" He chuckled giving a theatrical bow "I am the Merchant." I arched a eyebrow but had to admit, his cosplay of the Resident Evil Merchant was uncanny. "I must say, that is a rather good guise, Garnet?" "Uhrm Yes." I nerviously adjusted my glasses "Yours is really good to." "Oh this is no costume, this is who I am." "....Riiiiiiight." I brushed myself off "I'm going to head home." "With nothing to show for your trip?" He seemed horrified at me leaving empty handed. "Tell you what, I'll sell you something....Extraordinary." He opened up his coat and pulled out a wooden box, holding it in front of me he opened it up my two real eye's widening. It was a beautiful mirrored glass visor just like what Garnet wore in the show. "Oh wow...." "Twenty pounds for it right now, if you wear it." I blinked and laughed awkwardly. "...Unless you somehow have my Prescription from the opticians I can't, otherwise I would have got one before I came here." "Just for a minute? It does my heart good to see my wears worn." I considered it before finally giving in pulling out a twenty and paying the guy. I reluctantly took off and gave my glasses to the guy (who was now nothing more then a black blur) and gingerly put it on the eyewear fitting perfectly. "I hope you enjoy yourself. See you." I blinked as he gave me a chesire cat grin the convention swimming in front of my eyes- Next thing I knew was black. Hey wake up! I moaned head pounding as someone seemed to be yelling my year. Calm yourself, I foresee nothing wrong with giving her time to adjust. But what if something comes by and eats us?! Then we'll reform. Please stop screaming we can all hear you. "Uuhrg I'm with her." I winced rubbing my head eyes still closed "What hit me a Miltank?" Nothing hit you, now getting up before something eats us! I told you I don't foresee anythi- Doesn't mean it couldn't happen! "Please stop fi-" I sat up and blinked seeing no one around me "...Hello?" Hello. Ya ya hi, get moving! "....Oh god I've finally gone crazy!" I screamed. ....Sapphire did you foresee her being a idiot? Such is fate Ruby. Hearing myself being called a idiot by my own psycosis helped snapped me out of my screaming fit. "O-Oh great, my insanity thinks that it's two Gem's from Steven Universe." Both voices fell silent and I had the feeling that they where both giving me the '...Are you a idiot?' look. Ah, YOUR a Gem Garnet! Technically, she's a Gem now. Before we came to be here she was human. Don't you mean we where humans? I.....I'm not that sure... Doing my best to ignore them I got to my feet frowning when it seemed to be farther away then normal, and that I could actually see the grass, and that my perspective seemed a little off. And that my hands where the wrong color. Shaking I turned over my palms freezing in shock seeing the two perfectly cut gemstones embedded in my flesh, I gingerly poked the cold unyielding surface of the triangular cut gem that represented Ruby. "I....I....I'm Garnet...." Toooooold you. Please don't scream, I know I foresaw you doing it but I'm not sure you'd appreciate the headaches you give yourself. I sucked in a breath and held it. Before falling back passing out. ...Did you forsee that? Yes, it was the most favorable outcome. A curious hoof gently nudged the creature they'd found, A soft murmur of protest and twitch assuring them that the being was still alive at least. Zecora frowned pulling her hood back to get a better look. "A stranger you must be from some place far, to account for having a appearance so bizarre." she mused to herself wondering how to move them "...I'm sad to say I must bind you in rope, else leave you here where Timberwolves lope." She reached into her pack and pulled out a hefty rope with her muzzle tieing it around the strangers waist (And hoping they didn't suddenly wake up and take her help the wrong way) After testing the rope she nodded to herself and started to drag them back to her hut, once the creature was safe she could Quiz Princess Twilight on just what the creature was.
