Chapter 2: Preparations?
I awoke from my dream and sat up. I saw what the time was on the clock opposite to me read 6:20 am. I stood up and went into the bathroom but halted in front of the shower and wondered, "can I even take a shower and do I even need a shower?". I decided to take a shower I found out I could as the water ignored my shields and passed through them. After taking a nice warm shower and drying myself off. I decided to see if I was wearing a helmet or it’s actually my head. After a minute of figuring it out, I found it was my head and not a helmet. When the clock reached 7 in the morning I heard a knock against my door, I exited the bathroom and spoke “Yes who’s there?” The door opened as a guard stepped in and said “Breakfast is ready Sir and I am assigned to be your escort.” “Very well please lead me to the place where breakfast is being held” I said with a bow and catching a glimpse of my Syandana I hadn’t notice yet. I grabbed it and noticed it was the Izvara Syandana.
After a few minutes of walking.
My escort stopped in front of a huge door and peeked in, a few seconds later she said “you may enter” “Thank you, oh I never got your name?” I asked. “It’s Quick Strike.” Quick Strike said. “Thank you Quick Strike.” I said with a bow before entering.
Entering I found myself in a large hall with lots of tables and chairs. I searched after Princess Celestia and found her shortly waving after me, but I noticed that she wasn’t alone at the table so I had some questions in mind. When I came to the table Princess Celestia was the one to speak first. “Good morning Rhino Prime, how was your sleep?” She asked.
“Good morning to you all, I did sleep well while enjoying my lucid dream.” I looked to the others who were sitting at the table and noticed they looked younger than Princess Celestia. “Is this your family Princess Celestia?” I asked.
“Yes It’s my family Princess Luna my little sister and Princess Cadence my neice.” She said while pointing to each family member. “Oh please have a seat” she added.
“Thank you, and It’s nice to meet you all, I am Rhino Prime but I’m sure that Princess Celestia has told you about me, am I right?” I asked.
“Yes you are, she has told us everything about you since you’ve arrived yesterday, but we would like to know more about you.” Princess Luna said.
“All right I will answer your questions as best as I can.” I said while taking my seat in front of the Princess’s.
“Can you tell us more about yourself like your occupation and any other information you’ll like to share” Princess Cadence asked.
“Well my occupation is actually a golem but many also say we are warriors. And since the downfall of the Orokin Empire we found the relatively safety of the void our home that we tried to end the chaos between the Grinirr and the Corpus. Consequently, they found out about us they focused all of their forces against us. Then the Grinirr and the Corpus tried to eliminate us, we rise again.” I said.
“Your a warrior? I do notice a weapon on your back but the other item seems to be useless and what do you mean by ‘we rise again’?” Princess Cadence asked
“Yes I am a warrior, also not all weapons have to be sharp by their appearance.” Taking my Boltor Prime and setting it on the table and pointing the barrel towards myself so no harm comes to the princess if someone was to fire it. “This is my Boltor Prime. It fires bolts at speeds I do not know, but they cause a lot of damage as they strike any objects.” I grabed my Boltor and exchanged it with my Anku. “This is my scythe that I use for melee combat." To answer your question about ‘we rise again part’, you can actually say we are immortal as we come back to life after we have died.” I replied. I won’t tell them about my powers yet as I need to earn their trust first.
“Can you tell us about this void place?” Princess Celestia asked.
“That I can not, I’m not allowed to do so.” I replied.
“I also noticed that you haven’t touched your food, is there something wrong with it?” She asked.
“No there’s nothing wrong with it at all I just don’t need to eat anything” I replied.
“You also have a new cape on, does it symbolize anything? Since you weren't wearing it before.” Princess Celestia asked.
“This cape is actually a scarf or a syandana that is only given to those entrusted to protect the Orokin council of executors who are high ranking people like you Princess.” I replied. I don’t know how I managed to equip my syandana, I really need to find out how I did it but it has to be later.
“Do...do you respect me?” Princess Celestia asked with a shocked tone.
“Yes I do, I respect those who aided me when I am in need of help, I would also like to thank you for what you did yesterday” I replied with honor.
“Wow, anyway thank you for your information and time, but I, Luna, Cadence and the elements need to prepare for Cadence’s wedding. You are welcome to do whatever you like, but don’t go further than the garden surrounding the castle please.” Princess Celestia said before standing up to leave but I stopped her. “May I ask who are the elements?” I asked.
I got a chuckle from her but she answered “It’s the six other ponies you met yesterday Rhino Prime.” Princess Celestia answered then went on her way.
While I watched them exit I went over to a window and looked out at the amazing scenery of the city located around the castle. The moment I looked out at the scenery I noticed someone or something heading right towards me from the door. I turned to see who was coming and noticed it was Quick Strike. “Hello Quick Strike, how have you been?” I asked her.
“I’m doing fine thank you, You haven’t touched your food?” She asked.
“No, sorry I don’t eat at all” I replied.
“Do you mind If I have some, I haven’t eaten all day!” She asked.
“No I do not mind, but what I do mind is people who haven’t aten their food.” I replied. I said those words while she began to eat what had been made for me.
“What are you by the way?” I heard her asking me.
“I am Rhino Prime a Tenno, I’m pretty much like you a warrior who fights for his/her country.” I replied.
“Thank you” She replied with a small blush on her face.
I sat down in front of her and admired her. “What is a mare like you doing in the guard duty?” I asked her.
“Well normally a mare isn’t allowed in but Celestia made an exception because I am a single mother of two fillies and this is the quickest and easiest way to make good money.” She replied sadly.
Hearing this I moved over to her side and held her. “I’m sorry if I made you feel bad about your situation, to make up for this I would like to meet your two children when I become acquainted to the new world here and also accepted into the community.” I replied with a smile.
She looked up to me and gave a cute smile back. “Oh no no it’s fine, also that would be lovely, contact me when you can.” She said.
“There’s a problem, I just came here yesterday and I have no idea how your contacting service works, but I have an easier way of doing so.” I replied.
“And what is it?” She asked.
“Void communicators which will enable us to contact each other anywhere and at any distance.” I answered her.
Before she could give a reply, the door opened quickly and there stood an other guard. “Good this makes my job easier, Princess Celestia wants you both in the throne room now” He said before leaving.
“Alright it seems we are needed, stop by my room so we can get the communicators installed, care to lead the way.” I said raising my hand to point to the door while bowing slightly.
“Of course I will, follow me” She said with a smile plastered on her face as she started heading towards to the throne room.
I followed her by two minutes we arrived in the throne room we found it to be amazingly put together for a wedding. “You asked for us your Majesty?” Quick Strike reported.
“Yes I did, we’re missing a guard so I would like you to replace him, his position is situated just right below the stage if you would please station yourself there.” Princess Celestia commanded. Quick Strike saluted and went over to her position.
“And you Rhino Prime could you stand up here but at the edge on the left side, also do you have anything else to wear?” She asked.
“I do have an armor set I could wear I just need to find out how to access it.” I said as I moved over to the edge on her left side.
“Please do.” She said.
When she said those two words I started to see how I could equip them. After 20 minutes of fiddling, I found out how to equip my armor set. I just needed to think about my inventory which will be created by a flow of energy emanating from your arm or chest to create an inventory screen to pop up. When I saw the screen I directed an imaginary cursor or whatever there would be if you were in a Warframe to the right slots with my mind. So I equipped my Daedalus armor set included Daedalus shoulder plates, knee plates, and a chest plate. “There I got my armor set on.” I said to no one which got Princess Celestia's attention.
“I have to admit that you look tougher with those armor plates on.” Princess Celestia said. An hour of rehearsal went by “Thank you for coming here today, tomorrow will be the day the marriage happenning so I would like you all in the same position by 9 in the morning.” She announced.
All of the guards bowed and started to leave, I bowed and started to leave but the elements stayed back to talk with Celestia about some changeling threat.
I exited through the door then I found Quick Strike waiting for me. “Well that was interesting” I said.
“Yes, I was actually surprised that the Princess wanted you up there.” Quick Strike stated.
“Hmm yeah I see your point, but anyway would you like to get the Void communicators installed?” I asked.
“Sure, but I have to get back to my station after that all right?” Quick Strike said.
“That is fine by me.” I said as I started heading back to my room.
An hour went by,
After Injecting Quick Strike She had to leave. “I will contact you when I can meet your fillies, do you also remember how to speak to me?” I asked her before she left and she replied with a yes and a smile before turning a corner.
‘Hmm what to do now?’ I stood in my room and thought for a while but made a decision to visit the royal garden.
Wandering through the garden I found a great spot to meditate.
After a few minutes of meditating I hear hoof steps coming from the left towards me. I stopped meditating and looked to my left and saw Twilight walking towards me. “Good afternoon Twilight” I greeted her.
“Good afternoon Rhino Prime, I’ve asked Princess Celestia why she wanted you there and she told me and the other five elements that you're a warrior and that we're under attack by changelings.” She paused with a sigh before continuing “and she said she wanted you to be there and fend off the changelings if they broke through the shield barrier.” She told me.
“That is a big problem, what do these changelings want with this peaceful country? an what do the look like?” I asked.
“They are parasites which feed of love the ponies generate and do you see the dots that's hitting the shield?” she asked.
“Yes I can.” I replied, only seeing dots I used my zoom in ability (the same thing as you zoom in using a gun) to better see the changelings in detail. “Alright I understand I will do what I can to protect this country.” I replied.
“I also want to inform you about something” She said.
“Yes go on you can tell me.” I said with a bit of confusion.
She waved me down, so I did as she asked. “I believe that Princess Cadence is an Imposter and the real Princess Cadence is trapped somewhere below the castle, so I would be happy if you kept my disappearance covered up, as I go and look for the real Princess.” She stated.
“Hmm it sounds risky but I will go along with it.” I said with worry.
“Thank you, thank you , thank you so much!!!” Twilight shouted. “I’m going to have to go and prepare. See you!” She said while leaving.
I looked up to the barrier and noticed it’s already getting dark “ I hope that barrier can hold another day.” I said out loud to no one particular as I headed back into the castle.
