Have you ever been stuck in that moment when... your stuck between not telling and protecting yourself from trouble and not telling to protect friends and family? Identity has, lots and lots of times. But this, this was horrible.
Bolt looked at the two young mares who were sitting in the couch with nervous looks.
" So?" Bolt said. RH gave Identity that look of 'Should we tell?'. Identity gave her that 'No' look. Both of them looked at Bolt.
" We.." RH said scratching her back.
" We got lost.." Identity said, which was actually true.
" And why exactly were you in the Ever Free Forest?" Caramel said.
" Well, we...um.. you know we.." Identity said thinking of an answer.
" Identity was bringing flowers for you and they blew into the Forest, so we went to search them.." RH said. Caramel smiled and mouthed a little 'Awww'.
" Fine, but you were dehydrated, and had a huge headache." Bolt said getting more water for them.
" And we still do.." Identity said touching her forehead. Bolt gave them the water and another ice bag.
" Don't you have pills?" RH said.
" We use everything here naturally." Nightlight said. They young mares looked and could see she gathered some plants and was making tea. RH felt a weird feeling in her stomach. As her stomach made weird sounds she dragged attention.
" Sorry.." She said blushing.
" It looks, well sounds like you are hungry." Caramel said with a smile. RH blushed even more. Identity giggled.
Nightlight then gave them both the cup of tea and a plate of fruits. They both ate it faster than the rainboom. Caramel looked at them surprised as they blushed. He giggled and gave them more fruits. They were about to eat them fast, but they stopped and ate like civilized ponies. Caramel nodded with a smile and went to keep washing the dishes. Identity took a moment to look at the little wood house.
" So this is where you live. In the Ever Free Forest." Identity said still looking around. Nightlight cleared her throat as Caramel opened his eyes in surprise but didn't respond. Bolt then raised an eyebrow.
" Yes.. and seeing the memory dust doesn't affect you.. I'm going to do it with your alicorn friend here." Bolt said getting the little bag. RH let out a 'what?" before falling unconscious. Identity gasped.
" Dad!" Caramel shouted annoyed.
" What?" Bolt said.
" I think it was too early sweetie." Nightlight said without looking at him. Bolt nodded slowly looking at the white alicorn who wasn't delicate sleeping. Instead she was in a weird position snoring. Identity giggled and realized it was her turn. She looked at Bolt.
" Then what do we do with Miss. Changeling here?" Bolt said directing his question to his wife.
" Dad!!" Caramel shouted even more annoyed. Nightlight shrugged. Bolt then looked at Identity. Identity looked down.
" I guess, we have nothing to do. But act like if you don't know our location!" Bolt said. Identity nodded quickly. Caramel smiled.
" And no visits! Or telling anypony." Bolt said before entering his room. Caramel's smile faded. Nightlight smiled and went with her husband.
" Caramel, can I borrow your phone? Mom and dad are probably worried sick.." Identity said. Caramel nodded and gave her his phone. 1, 2, 3 rings. It didn't take long for her dad to answer.
" Identity!! Where are you!?!" Mothball shouted.
" Hello to you too dad. I'm sleeping over at RH's." Identity lied.
" You are so grounded!!" Mothball shouted.
" Do I come home now?" Identity said looking at the window. It was already night. Mothball sighed.
" No.. come tomorrow.. BUT YOUR STILL GROUNDED!" He said.
" Yes dad, love you." Identity said and hung up. Identity then called RH's mother and told her she was sleeping at her house. After giving the phone to Caramel she sighed.
" So, why did you lie to your parents?" Caramel asked.
" Oh.. because they....would be angry...because I entered the Forest alone!" She said. Caramel shrugged and smiled. He sat down by her side, moving RH to the side. Identity put her head on Caramel's chest and sighed. Then she remembered the time.
" Oh Celestia! We need to get going before it gets really dark!" She said standing up.
"What?" Caramel said confused.
" Do you know the way to Ponyville?" Identity said.
" Calm down Dity! Your staying here tonight." Caramel said standing up and putting a hoof in her.
" No, you already done too much!" Identity said with smile.
" I'm not letting you enter the forest, specially at this time." Caramel said firmly. Identity was a little surprised but sighed in defeat.
" Fine." She said sitting on the couch and laying down by her snoring friend. Caramel raised an eyebrow.
" Oh no, your sleeping in my bed." He said.
"W-what??" Identity said blushing. Caramel realized what he said.
" Oh, and I'm sleeping in the couch..." Caramel said blushing. " And you and RH will sleep in my bed."
Identity tried to argue but received a glare from Caramel as she sighed in defeat.
" Thank you." She said smiling. Caramel nodded as he helped Identity pick RH and enter his room. It was quite clean. The walls were light green and he had a normal blue bed. And some other things a normal bedroom would have. They put RH slowly in the bed as she kept snoring. They both laughed. As Caramel headed to the door Identity stopped him.
" Hey, um, I'm not really tired." Identity said looking down. Caramel smiled.
" Well follow me." Caramel said. He lead her outside of the house. They both went flying to a tree. The tree was big and beautiful. They sat down on top of the tree, having the leaves as a fluffy cushion. They saw the stars and the amazing night sky.
" This is beautiful.." Identity said. Caramel smiled.
" I knew you would like it." He said. It was almost midnight and the night was cold. Identity wrapped her hooves around her self trying to get warmer. Caramel looked at her. Her wrapped his wing around her and dragged her closer to him. She smiled and put her head on his chest.
" Caramel..." She said getting up and making his wing go back to its place.
"Yes?"
" W-why do you love me?" She asked. Caramel looked at those big pretty eyes. He sighed.
"Well, you are beautiful, you have an incredible heart, you are really nice and friendly. Because.. your are just you.." He said noticing her eyes started shining like if she was a little filly.
" And I just now I love you.." He whispered wrapping his wing around her again. She smiled and let out a sigh.
Shadow entered another dark room.
" Father, I already have the locations of the main six." She said.
" Good Shadow. We will start in a few days. "
Shadow nodded and left the room. She entered another room, it had a large red bed. She sat down on her bed and took a crystal. She put it in the bed and it lighted up. It then showed like a kind of like a hologram, but it was some sort of camera, that recorded Identity wherever she was.
And I just know I love you..
"Ugh, Identity might say something to that stallion. I will need to get rid of him.. someway." Shadow said turning off the crystal and throwing herself in the bed.
Identity woke up in top of a tree. She was completely snuggled with Caramel. She blushed and smiled. His wings were wrapped around her and her hoof was on his face. She yawned as she saw when he turned into a normal pony with the sunshine. She sat down and started stretching. She then gasped.
" Caramel!" She said shaking him. He moaned and rubbed his eyes.
"Yes??" He said sitting up still kind of sleepy.
"We slept here! What would your parents think!?" Identity said shaking him again. He the gasped.
" Come on!" He said flying. Identity followed him until they got in the house. Luckily for them, his parents weren't awake yet. Caramel ran to the couch and pretended he was sleeping, and so did Identity throwing herself on the bed. Some seconds later Nightlight and Bolt came out of their rooms. Bolt started doing coffee and Nightlight tea. Caramel pretended that he yawned and stood up.
" Morning sleepy head!" Nightlight said kissing him on the cheek.
" Morning."
" Why were you sleeping on the couch?" Bolt said confused.
" Well I offered Identity my bed." He said.
"Oh."
Identity then showed up, pretending she was rubbing her eyes.
" Morning.." She said.
" Morning Identity." Nightlight said with her typical smile. Identity then looked at Caramel after he sat down in the table. He offered her to do the same but she declined.
" I better get going, before RH wakes up at least." She said.
" Well, don't you want to stay for breakfast?" Nightlight said putting a cup of tea on front of Caramel.
" I would love to, but I can't. Thanks for everything." Identity said picking up RH. She then closed the door and walked a little bit deeper into the Forest. She started shaking RH, until she woke up.
" What happened??" RH said confused.
" Well, you went to sleep at my house and then our things blew here so we came to get them and you fell asleep.." Identity said.
" Oh. Lol." RH said flying on top of the forest to spot Ponyville. Identity did the same before giving the tiny house one final glare.
As Identity dropped RH in her house she took a deep breath and went to her house. She opened the door to find a complete silence.
" Hello?" She said quietly. She went upstairs and opened the door of her bedroom quietly. She saw her brother sleeping on his bed and then she went and opened her parent's bedroom. They were sleeping too. She went downstairs to the kitchen to make some breakfast. She took some pieces of bread and covered them in chocolate. She put some lettuce and sat down with her milkshake. She started eating when a door opened. She didn't hear it so she kept eating. Mothball yawned and went downstairs. He saw his daughter.
" Identity!" He said dragging her attention. They both hugged each other for a long time.
" We were so worried." Mothball said.
" I know."
" I'm glad you are home."
Screwball then heard the noises and went downstairs. She ran to her daughter and hugged her.
" Mom!"
" Oh sweetie." Screwball said putting her hooves in her daughter's face.
" You know, your still grounded." Mothball said.
" Mothy, it wasn't her fault. She just forgot to tell us." Screwball said. Mothball sighed.
" Fine."
Chaotic went downstairs too. Like the rest of the family he hugged Identity.
" So, who wants breakfast?" Screwball said.
" No thanks. I just had breakfast." Identity said. Screwball shrugged. Mothball sat down by Identity's side. Screwball then gave him a cup of chocolate milk.
" Dity, can you explain where you were? Your father told me, but I want it to come from you." Screwball said sitting down. Identity blinked. Oh no... her mother was a living lie detector. But since she couldn't do anything else, she had to go for it.
" I was on my way to visit Caramel in the hospital when RH came, she then invited me to sleep at her house, since my phone died I couldn't call you. And I forgot about asking her for hers." Identity said nervously. Mothball believed that story but looked at his wife. She was raising an eyebrow with that face: ' Yea right.'
" You know, there's no fooling me." Screwball said. Chaotic's ears perked up looking at his sister. This was going to be good.
" What!? It's not true?!" Mothball said looking at his daughter who looked away.
" Well, you see..." Identity said rubbing her back.
" How could you lie to us young lady!?!?" Mothball said standing up. Identity lowered her ears. Screwball was watching them both. She then remembered something from her childhood.
" Were you meeting with Caramel?" She asked leaving Mothball in shock.
"Huh? Well, yes." Identity said, but it really was true. Screwball didn't sense a lie. Mothball looked at his wife as she nodded.
" Then why is it a secret?" Screwball asked her daughter.
" Well..." Identity said looking for an answer.
" Did you.." Mothball said, his eyes widening. Identity raised an eyebrow but then realized.
"NO!" She said blushing like crazy.
" Then why is it a secret?" Mothball said raising an eyebrow.
" It's not like we forbid you to see him." Screwball said.
" Yes, I know how that feeling." Mothball said receiving a glare from Screwball. He smiled in his defense as she couldn't resist but smile.
" I don't know.." Identity said. Screwball didn't sense a lie either.
" Well, okay. But please, don't do that again. We were worried sick." Screwball said and hugged her daughter. Mothball hugged her too. Chaotic smiled.
As sunset started Identity started putting some pillows under her bed, making it look like if she was sleeping. She turned off the light and left the house in complete silence. She walked into the Everfree forest looking down and making sure nopony followed her. She walked until she got to a wood cabin. She flied to the same tree she fell asleep with Caramel. She sat in the same place by Caramel's side.
" Sorry I took so long, I had to check nopony followed me." Identity said removing her hoodie. Caramel smiled.
" Sorry If I get you in trouble." He said.
" No. You didn't, but what was so important you couldn't tell me tomorrow?" Identity asked confused.
" Well.." Caramel said getting from behind him a rose.
" We have been dating for *snickers* a few days. But I feel complete with you, will you be my marefriend?" Caramel said in a simple, but sweet way. Identity gasped took him for a long passionate kiss. He put his hooves around her hugging her tight and she was putting her hoof on his cheek. When they broke apart Identity slowly opened her eyes as Caramel was putting the rose in her mane. She smiled.
" Did I ever tell you.. you look better when you are a vampire."Identity said with a smile. Caramel blushed and looked at the sunset. Identity let her head fall on his shoulder as she sighed. She took the necklace and sighed again.
Caramel looked at her without moving his head. She was almost falling asleep. He didn't wanted her to get in trouble.
" Dity.... wake up, I think you better leave. How about we have a date tomorrow?"Caramel said. Identity opened her eyes and sat down fast.
" Okay, but no secret fights this time.." She said rubbing her eyes. Caramel laughed. He tickled her with his pointy wing as she laughed. She almost cried of laughter before he stopped. She wiped some tears and smiled.
"Bye." She said then giving him a light kiss. He smiled as she left flying.
