Chapter 9: Hearth’s Warming Eve
I was on a train heading for Canterlot with the others, Spike and the Cutie Mark Crusaders. Princess Celestia asked Twilight and the others to preform in a play about the founding of Equestria. As for me and the Crusaders we were left out. I kinda wondered why they were here, but I guess Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle wanting to watch their sisters preform would make sense. As for Scootaloo I’d assume she wanted to be with her friends and/or wanted to watch Rainbow Dash preform. Now that I think of it does she even have a family? I mean I’ve never seen or heard any mention of parents or siblings or anything. I’m not sure how I could even ask her about it.
When we arrived at the train station I noticed the Crusaders running off.
“Hey shouldn’t somepony keep an eye on them?”
Nopony seemed to have heard me. So I guess it’s up to me to foalsit.
They walked though Canterlot for a good while before they even noticed me.
“Oh hi Seth.” Apple Bloom greeted. Then the other two turned to look at me.
“Have you been here this whole time?” Scootaloo asked.
“Indeed I have.”
“Why?” asked Sweetie Belle.
“I figured that there should be a responsible adult to watch over you three.”
I realized the irony in this because I may have the body and mind of and adult stallion, I am technically much younger than them. Hell, everypony except Screwball and Princess Celestia thinks I’m 19.
“Besides I don’t know how familiar you are with this city, so somepony has to make sure nothing happens to you.”
“Well I guess that makes since.” Apple Bloom replied.
“Hey where’s Scootaloo?” asked Sweetie Belle.
“What she ran off?! Oh great! Just great!” I responded.
“Oh there she is.” Apple Bloom pointed.
And yes there was Scoots, with her tongue stuck on a giant candy cane.
I facehoofed.
“Okay we just need to get some warm water and...” I was saying before the other two jumped up and shouted.
“CUTIE MARK CRUSADERS EMERGENCY RESCUE!” They grabbed Scootaloo and pulled.
“I don’t think you should do...”
SNAP!
“OOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWW!”
“...that.” Okay is this Hearth’s Warming Eve or Not Listen to Seth Day.
Then Sweetie Belle looked around the candy cane. “Hey look another filly is stuck, Cutie Mark Crusaders.”
The little filly looked worried so I stepped in. “Wait girls! Let me try something.” I levitated some snow off the ground. I focused on it till it melted into some water. I poured I down the cane and the filly’s tongue separated from it.
“Thank you sir.” she said before running off.
“Sssseeeeeeettth. Why did you do that? We could of gotten our cutie marks.” Sweetie Belle whined.
“I doubt ripping ponies off of poles is your special talent.”
“Yeah, Sweetie Belle what kind of talent is that?” Scootaloo asked.
Sweetie Belle shrugged.
I looked at a nearby clock. “We should be getting to the theater.”
The four of us sat in the front row and watched the play.
In it, it showed how Earth Ponies, Pegasi and Unicorns worked with each other until a snowstorm ravished the land causing them to fight and eventually leaving the country they were currently in and they all ended up in what would become Equestria. They each claimed the land and once again augured over it. The snowstorm seemed to have followed them and they to refuge in a cave. Eventually the leaders of each tribe, played by Pinkie, Rainbow and Rarity, got frozen solid. Their assistants, played by Applejack, Fluttershy and Twilight, found out that the storm was caused by Windigos, pony-like spirits that feed off of hated. They say that the don’t hate each other and the warmth of friendship defeated the Windigos and unfroze the leaders. The decided to live together in harmony. At the end everypony in the theater sang a song that I didn’t know so I faked it.
The after party was what you’d expect. Music, food and punch. I left to take a short walk. I ended up running into Princess Celestia.
“Evening Princess. What are you doing here?”
“I’m going to congratulate you friends on the play. Speaking of them, I assume you still haven’t told them yet.”
“Well, no, but...”
“May I ask why?”
“I’m...afraid.”
Celestia raised an eyebrow. “Afraid?”
“Yes... I’m afraid that they’ll not accept me... I mean I’m pretty sure they will, but it’s just the what if. They’re all I really have. Okay I do have Screwball, but she treats me more like a test monkey than a brother.”
Celestia chuckled at the last part, but quickly regained her regal composer.
“Sorry. If they really mean everything to you, then you should trust them.”
I thought for a while, the I finally spoke. “Thank you Princess. I’ll tell them the truth tomorrow.”

It was 2:00 P.M. the next day and I was going to be a stallion of my word. One by one they showed up in the room I was staying in at the castle. Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Twilight, Pinkie Pie, Rarity and Fluttershy. I turned to them.
“I assume you are all wondering why I asked you all to come here. Well I talked to Princess Celestia about this and I feel that I need to tell you all something that I’ve been hiding from you since, well, since I’ve met all of you.”
They all got a mix of expressions on their faces. Some shocked, some confused and Pinkie was just smiling away.
“I’m different from most ponies.”
“What do you mean?” Twilight asked.
“I wasn’t born normally. I was created by magic.”
Now all of their faces were in shock and Fluttershy was the first to respond. “What about Screwball? You two claim to be siblings.”
“We are. It’s the same thing for her.”
“Well shucks sugarcube that don’t seem like a big deal.” Applejack said.
“Well here’s the thing. It’s not just that I was created by magic it’s who created me.”
They all leaned in and all in unison asked “Who?”
“Discord.”
After I said this each one of their mouths were agape, well except for Pinkie who had a smirk on her face like she knew the whole time. And if that’s the case then I might have to become scared of her. The others were dead silent until Rainbow flew up to me.
“So what are you saying? That your not really our friend? That everything has been a lie?!”
“What?! No I was...”
“You were what? Planning to free Discord?”
“I don’t have any loyalty to him.”
“Yeah right! I bet Princess Celestia caught you and is making you confess.”
“I’m doing this on my own choice.”
“Do you really expect us to believe that Celestia would let something like you go free?!”
I tried to put my hoof on her shoulder to calm her down or something, but before it could...
SLAP!
There was a loud gasp from the others. Rainbow flew right out of the room. I was in complete shock. She... She just... slapped me. Applejack, Fluttershy and Pinkie went after her, leaving just me, Twilight and Rarity in the room. Twi trotted up to me.
“Seth, I’m so sorry that just happened.”
“Please, Twi... I want to be left alone right now.”
“But, I’m sure Rainbow didn’t think about what she was...”
“Twi please..”
“Seth...”
“I SAID LEAVE ME ALONE!”
A flash of light came from my horn and when it cleared I was no longer in that room with Twilight and Rarity. I was now in some cave. What the hay? Did I just teleport? How? Where am I now? Ah screw it that’s not important now.
My fears became a reality. I’m not sure how all six of them feel about the situation, but the one mare I hoped would stay by my side rejected me. Oh Celestia, if anypony had to abandon me why did it have to be Rainbow Dash?
I lied down and put my head in my arms and I cried.
