A huge party was held that night in Our Town to celebrate the defeat of Sunflare Scorch and the return of Princess Sunset. After many hours of merriment, Princess Twilight turned to Starlight. "Well, my faithful student, are you ready to return to Ponyville?"
A feeling of melancholy swept over Starlight. She looked at her fellow Elements of Friendship, the ponies without whom she never could have defeated Sunflare Scorch. Sugar Belle, Night Glider, Double Diamond, Party Favor, and Sunburst. The ponies she had grown to love. The ponies who had shown her true friendship. Her friends.
"Well, Starlight?"
Starlight looked up at the princess and gave a small smile. "Actually, if you don't mind, Princess, I think I'll stay here for a while. I've still got a lot to learn about friendship, and I can't think of a better place to conduct my studies."
Princess Twilight smiled. "I couldn't agree more."
As the princesses left on the chariot, the Elements of Friendship gathered in a group hug that felt as eternal as their friendship.
"Well, what are we waiting for?" Night Glider asked when they finally broke apart. "The night is still young! Let's party!"
And they did.
