//------------------------------// // Christmas Special // Story: The Golden Ticket // by Lt-poppyseed //------------------------------// Everybody woke up to find a blanket of snow on the ground. "It's going to be a white Christmas after all" Sonata said. "Oh goodie, so what" Aria exclaimed. "This is going to be Cupcake first Christmas, and ours too if you think about it." Sonata said. "And your point being?" Aria asked. "I always wanted to celebrate these human holidays. Why not start with this one?" Sonata exclaim. " Because we didn't before and I don't want to start now, not for you, not for the brat, not for anything. Beside why not celebrate Hanukkah, or some other holiday?" Aria ask. "Because everybody around us celebrate Christmas. Plus it's a lot like Hearths warming day back in Equestria." Sonata explained. "And I ask again, So what?" Aria asked. "If Cupcake is going to grow up in this world, I want her to celebrate this world holiday." Sonata answered. "Fine, but don't be thinking I going to get in the spirit of the holiday." Aria said. "Will you two stop and go shovel out the driveway." Adagio said. "What about cupcake? She is going to wake up soon." Sonata pointed out. "I can take care of her, just shovel out the driveway so we can get your Christmas stuff." Adagio said walking into the kitchen. Sonata and Aria put on there coats and went outside, just as they did that cupcake woke up. "Quiet down now, I got you. Let's get you fed." Adagio said as she gave Cupcake her bottle. After finishing the driveway, Sonata and Aria went into town for Christmas supplies. "So, what do you want to get first?" Sonata asked. "I don't know." Aria answered. "Well to start off we need..." Sonata said. "And I don't care either." Aria exclaim cutting off Sonata. "Why won't you care?" Sonata asked. "Because I find this holiday stuff stupid." Aria answered. "Let's just get some colorful light to hang up around the house and tree." Sonata said. "Fine but I'm not helping you to hang them up, understand?" Aria said. "Will see." Sonata replied. The two went into the hardware store to pick out some lights. On there way out the door Aria spotted a tree. She gazed at it while it was all decorated and lit up. "Maybe there there's some hope for you yet." Sonata said. After pulling Aria out of the store they start to head home. "What about the tree?" Aria asked. "We're getting it delivered." Sonata answered. They chant a ride home to find Adagio watching T.V. "Where's Cupcake?" Sonata asked. "In her crib sleeping." Adagio answered. Sonata goes to see the baby while Aria jumps into the couch. "What are you watching?" Aria asked. "Bizarre Foods. I like seeing how low these humans can get with there cuisine." Adagio answered. "Where is he this time?" Aria asked. "Taiwan, he's eating rotten tofu." Adagio answered. "That's discussing." Aria replied. When the tree arrived three hours later Sonata started to set it up. "Can you open up the tinsel for me?" Sonata asked Aria. "I told you, this is your idea. I'm not going to help you." Aria answered. Sonata went to get the tinsel when the baby started to cry. "I guess it's that time again. You mind taking care of that Aria?" Sonata asked. "No." Aria answered. "You won't help me put up the decorations, won't help take care of the baby, what will you do?" Sonata asked. "Stay out of your way." Aria answered. "Your no help at all, where's Adagio?" Sonata asked. "She went out, I don't know why." Aria answered. "Fine, don't help. And don't expect anything from Santa either." Sonata grunted as she walk into Cupcake's room. After the fight Aria walked out and went into town. She walked by Adagio holding half her weight in bags. "What do you got there?" Aria asked. "Stuff for Christmas. You should know that if we don't help Sonata with this thing, she'll never let us live it down. So, what are you getting her?" Adagio replied. "I don't know if I'm even going to celebrate, let alone get her something." Aria answered. "you know being nice to each other even ones in a while isn't that bad. And if that's coming from me, how can you beat that?" Adagio asked. "I'll think about it." Aria answered. "We'll be quick about it. You only have a week." Adagio replied before heading back home. Everybody woke up to the grandfather clock chime. "Christmas is here." Sonata hollered out. "Let's get this over with already." Aria grumbled with a yawn. "Who's first?" Sonata asked. "Let the baby go first." Adagio answered. Sonata grabbed the largest box under the tree and put it in front of Cupcake. "Alright sweetie, let's see what Santa got you." Sonata said. She started to rip off the rapping. "Look, it's a Walker Dottie. Now you can walk around like mommy." Sonata said. As Sonata was putting the walker to the side Adagio took a smaller box and handed it to Sonata. "Let her open up this one next." Adagio said. Sonata took the box and put it in front of Cupcake. "Let see what else you got." Sonata said. She unwrapped the box to find a pink and purple teddy bear. "This is so cute, she going to love it." Sonata said. She looked under the tree to find a third present. "What's this?" Sonata asked. She unwrapped it to find a small necklace box. "Who got this for her, Aria did you get into the Christmas spirit?" Sonata asked. "Just open it already." Aria replied. Sonata open the box to find a red pendent. "Oh, By Celestia Magic. It's just like the ones we where." Sonata said. "I thought if she's going to be one of us, we might make it a little more official. And you can't be a dazzling without the pendent." Aria said. "That's so sweet of you." Sonata said holding the pendent to her own. The day went on with a smile as Sonata put Cupcake into her new walker Dottie. "She better not hit me with that thing." Aria said walking out of the kitchen. "Oh relax, she'll will be fine." Sonata said. "I'm not talking about her safety." Aria said. "Your be fine too." Sonata said. "You say that now." Aria said. "How's the ham?" Sonata asked. "The food is fine, by ability to avoid tripping over Cupcake, that's another." Aria said as she walked backed into the kitchen.
