Interlude:Musical Turmoil

The grey mare frowned as her unicorn roommate continued to mess up on the grand pianpiano before her. Vinyl Scratch gritted her teeth as the wailing and crashing notes that the unicorn made. Octavia sighed and shook her head sadly. The mare seemed to be useless with an actual instrument in hoof but if you gave her a computer, the unicorn could conjure an entire orchestra.
Octavia finally sighed and shook her head. "Come Vinyl, let us take a small break." Vinyl frowned at her but Octavia merely walked to the kitchen. The truth was, she couldn't concentrate enough now as it is. The mare that Vinyl Scratch had brought home last night seemed to occupy the unicorn's mind all morning. Vinyl looked off in the distance with a small smile or would suddenly close her eyes while practicing and make several mistakes.
Octavia didn't have a problem with this behavior because she knew what it meant. She had seen it when she had to teach new blood at her old orchestra. It was when a pony was so hopelessly in love that the special somepony distracted that pony's full attention. Normally, Octavia would be able to work around it but something about Vinyl's love bugged her.
Octavia grabbed a glass of sparkly grape juice and sipped at it thoughtfully, trying to sort this unease out. As she did so, suddenly Vinyl Scratch appeared in front of her. Vinyl was smiling and Octavia merely looked back to her juice.
"Yo! What are you doing? You seem like something is bugging you." Vinyl asked, looking at her with concern. Octavia shook her head and that just made Vinyl frown more. She knew something was wrong with her roommate but it must be incredibly bad if the earth pony wouldn't tell her.
"Nothing you need to concern yourself with dear." Octavia calmly told her friend and walked back towards the music room. "Come, we have much to practice. The wedding will only be a few more weeks and we must prepare." Vinyl Scratch groaned and shook her head, following Octavia to the room.
Octavia tried to teach Vinyl the piano for a few more hours before her patience ran too thin. She told Vinyl that practice was done for the day and walked towards the patio in the back of the house. She stood there, looking out on the horizon as the soon began to set. She watched the orange blend with the blues and whites of the day sky as it transitioned to the night sky. She sighed and bit her lip, sending a small prayer to Luna.
"Luna...guide my heart right. I do not want to fall for her and not have her love me back..."
