It was a cold winter day in the city of Canterlot. Snow covered the streets and buildings making the beautiful city look like a winter wonderland. Christmas was right around the corner and the streets were filled with people who were trying to get done with their last minute shopping.
It has been two weeks since Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy, and Rarity and Applejack became an ''item'', as Rarity would put it, and they couldn't be happier.
''So watcha got in the bag Shy,'' Rainbow asked as she and her friends walked through the streets. She tried to peek inside the bag that Fluttershy was holding but her girlfriend yanked it away.
Fluttershy hid the bag behind her back, ''Stop Rainbow it's a secret.''
''Come on Shy, please,'' Rainbow said while giving Fluttershy her best puppy dog eyes impression.
''Rainbow no, you'll just have to wait until tonight,'' Fluttering stated.
Sunset walked up to both of her friends and put her arms around their shoulders,'' Come on Rainbow, it's our tradition to open one present at midnight during our annual Christmas sleepover, remember.''
''Fine,'' Rainbow groaned and crossed her arms.
Sunset smiled and walked up to the head of the group where Twilight was walking and observing the scenery around,'' Hey Twilight, I'm glad you were able to visit us for Christmas.''
''Of course, I wouldn't miss it for all off Equestrian,'' Twilight said while giving Sunset a warm smile.'' The girls back home insisted that I come since I've always spent Hearthswarming with them. By the way what is Christmas? Is it anything like Hearthswarming.''
''Not really, from what I heard parents make their children believe in a big, fat guy named Santa Claus who dresses in a red suit and goes down a chimney to deliver presents to all the good girls and boys of the world,'' Sunset gave a chuckle at the thought of the old man being real.
''So technically an oversized man dresses up and breaks into innocent peoples' homes and his name is Santa Claws. That sounds like a nightmare,'' Twilight shivered.
''Well he's not really real, he's just make believe.''
''He is too real!'' Pinkie yelled as she jumped in front of Sunset.'' How else would you explain presents magically appearing under the Christmas tree and the cookies and milk that mysteriously disappear from the plate.
''I don't know Pinkie how do they magically appear,'' Sunset replied sarcastically.
''Santa that's how,'' Pinkie smiled proudly,'' Christmas is like the best holiday because everyone always has a great Christmas.''
''Well, sorry to burst your bubble Pinkie but I've never had a ''great'' Christmas,'' Sunset sighed,'' I've always been alone during the holidays. Back then I never had anyone, no friends, no family, no one cared about me. And it wasn't any better in Equestria either.''
Pinkie gasped in horror,'' Sunset as our friends as my witnesses, I will make sure you have the bestest Christmas you've ever had,'' she smiled mischievously while looking to Twilight.
Twilight put a hand on Sunset's shoulder and gave her a reassuring smile,'' Well you have friends now, we care about you,'' 'I care about you','' you're not alone anymore.''
Sunset smiled,'' Thanks Twilight.''
''I don't know about you all but me and Applejack are going to the cafe to get some cocoa, if you want you all can attend as well,'' Rarity said not waiting for an answer and walking ahead of the group dragging Applejack with her.
'' But Rarity I don't - ugh never 'mahnd,'' Applejack didn't even bother to argue with her girlfriend for she knew she wouldn't win.

''I'll have the flavor explosion hot cocoa with extra whip cream on top a cherry and extra sprinkles. Oh, and, can I get a confetti cupcake too,'' Pinkie said to the cashier behind the counter.
''Sure deary, anything else?''
''Nope that's all.''
''That'll be five dollars.''
Pinkie proceeded to pay, grab her order, and walked to the booth where the other girls were sitting.
''Oh Applejack, I just bought you the most divine gift and I am sure your going to love it,'' Rarity smiled, excitement in her eyes.
''Ah can't wait,'' Applejack said unsure if she should feel excited or nervous.
Pinkie sat next to the country gal and bit into her cupcake,'' Wow! This is the greatest cupcake that I've ever eaten, they may be even better than mine...'' she bit into her cupcake once again,''... nah mine are still better.''
Twilight smiled at her friends' enthusiasm, then drank out of her own delicious cup of hot cocoa,'' You know Sunset, you really didn't have to buy me this.''
''It was my treat Twilight, you looked like you were freezing out there and nothing beats the cold like something warm and delicious,'' Sunset reassured her.
''Well, then, thanks the weather here is really unpredictable. Usually the pony counterpart of Rainbow Dash warns me of what the weather ponies are planning to do the next day.''
''We have something like that here, it's called the Weather Channel,'' Sunset smiled.

''I'm beat,'' Rainbow Dash sighed as she flopped down on Pinkie's couch,'' we've been walking around all day and my feet are killing me.''
Fluttershy sat down next to Rainbow,'' Come on it can't be that bad.''
The others soon entered and placed their bags by the Christmas tree to grab them later.
''Hey, Twilight, wanna help me bake Christmas cookies,'' Pinkies asked cheerfully.
''Sure,'' Twilight replied as she followed Pinkie to the kitchen.
Applejack and Rarity sat down in the last two spots on the couch and Sunset sat on the floor.
''So?'' Applejack said once Twilight was out of sight.
''So what?'' Sunset asked raising an eyebrow.
Applejack rolled her eyes,'' So, are ya gonna tell Twilight ya like her or not.''
Sunset signed,'' I don't know, I mean, I want to but I don't know how.''
''I'll be right back Twilight, just stay by the cookies!'' Pinkie yelled as she entered the living room,'' I know how to help you Sunset.''
''Pinkie, no offense, but how are you going to help me tell Twilight I like her.''
''With this,'' Pinkie held a green plant up that had a ribbon tied to the end of it.
''Mistletoe?''
''Eyup,'' Pinkie said as she tied the mistletoe over Sunset's head,'' when Twilight sees this she'll kiss you for sure.''
''I don't think it's that simple Pinkie,'' Sunset said looking to her pink friend.
Twilight poked her head out of the kitchen,'' Pinkie the cookies are ready.''
''Thanks Twilight, come on out we're about to open presents,'' Pinkie said as she motioned for Twilight to come to the living room.
Everyone went to the Christmas tree to grab their gifts that they had bought and proceeded to hand them out.
''Here,'' Fluttershy said as she handed Rainbow her gift.
Rainbow's eyes widened as she opened her gift,'' How did you get this?'' Rainbow held up the gift that Fluttershy had bought her, a first edition of Daring Do and the quest of the Sapphire Statue,'' Only two copies have ever been made.''
''W-Well I found this copy but the person who was selling it wanted a lot of money for it so I had to sell my antique bear calling whistle,'' Fluttershy blushed as Rainbow hugged her.
Rainbow released Fluttershy from the hug to give her her gift,'' Here,'' Fluttershy opened it, it was a bird calling whistle,'' I-I know it isn't something big but-,'' Rainbow was cut-off as Fluttershy pecked her on the lips.
''It's perfect.''
''Here ya go Rarity,'' Applejack handed Rarity her gift, a purple diamond ring,'' and ah know your gonna like it 'cause you have a drawer full of 'em sittin' at home.''
Rarity smiled,'' Thank you, and here's yours, it isn't like the pie tin that you wanted but its the rustiest thing I could find,'' she smirked.
''Ya know me so well,'' Applejack said as she pulled Rarity into a passionate kiss.
''Here Pinkie, the other Pinkie told me to give this to you,'' Twilight smiled handing Pinkie a red box with white ribbon on it.
''Coconut swirl cookies, my favorite!''
''H-Here Sunset, this is for you,'' Twilight blushed.
'Why is she blushing?'Sunset shrugged and opened the gift. She smiled when she saw what it was. It was a heart shaped locket necklace, Sunset opened the locket and her smile grew even wider. It was the first picture she and Twilight ever took, a library was in the background.'' Twilight, you kept this picture?''
''Well yeah, why wouldn't I. That picture was very special to me.''
''Thanks,'' Sunset smiled,'' Oh, here.''
''It's beautiful,'' Twilight said while looking at the accessory, it had both their cutiemarks on it.'' Can you help me put it on.''
''Sure,'' Sunset said as she grabbed the necklace from Twilight's grasp.
Twilight pulled her hair out of the way to allow Sunset to clasp the hooks together. She smiled as Sunset finished and she turned around to face her again. Something out of the corner of Twilight's eye caught her attention and she looked up.
''What's that?'' Twilight said raising an eyebrow.
Sunset looked up curious on what Twilight was talking about. When she saw what Twilight was seeing her eyes shrank. 'Shit I totally forgot about that.'
''That, well, it's a... a... um-''
''It's a mistletoe,'' Pinkie said cutting Sunset off.
''A mistletoe?''
''Yeah, here in our world whenever two people are caught under a mistletoe those two people have to kiss.''
''Well we don't have to. It's just a stupid-''
Sunset was cut-off once again as Twilight leaned in and kissed her. She heard giggles and 'awws' amongst her friends but Sunset didn't care. All that mattered to her at the moment was Twilight. But all good things must come to an end as Twilight pulled back making Sunset long for her.
''Come on Sunset say it,'' Pinkie said pulling her phone out and pressing record.
''Fine,'' Sunset smiled clearing her throat.
''Best. Christmas. Ever.''
