It is Monday in the afternoon and I am in my room packing my stuff preparing to go spend the week with Zecora. Twilight explained to me that Zecora was very busy this week and needed the help. Twilight also wanted the house to herself so she could catch up on her studies. So whether I liked it or not I was going to spend the week in a hut in the Everfree Forest with the zebra. I am not racist, but there have been rumors about her. I heard stuff like she would kidnap mares and use them for potions or just eat them. I didn't believe it at first, but when I walked by her hut once I heard loud crying and heard someone scream "please don't do this". After that I didn't know what to believe about her. Twilight said not to believe in rumors because they are just rumors, but I don't know much about the zebra. I met her once when I was with Twilight, but I didn't say much to her. Mostly because I couldn't get used to the way she talked. I don't know how I was going to deal with that for a week.
There was knocking on the door and I knew it was time to go. I had packed the stuff I needed in my suitcase and went down stairs to see Zecora and Twilight talking.
"Oh there he is" Twilight announced to Zecora as they both were now looking at me coming down the stairs.
"We are about to get going,
I hope you are ready" Zecora said.
"Yeah I am ready, we can go now" I replied now walking out the door with Zecora.
"Alright, Spike have a good time with Zecora!" Twilight said.
"Ok bye, Twilight!"
"Bye, Spike!"
I was now walking beside Zecora to her hut in the Everfree Forest. We were taking a really long path to get to her hut away from the ponies. I guess she didn't want to run into any ponies because of the rumors. Twilight did say the ponies were not nice to her because of the rumors so she tried avoiding them. They would do things like pour holy water on her thinking it would kill her. It is sad, but there was nothing I could do about it. It didn't look like it bothered her that much so I just let it go. We were now walking in the Everfree Forest which was scary because I kept thinking something was behind me every minute. It was getting dark so I was hoping we would get there before night. The last place you would want to be in the dark is in the Everfree Forest. I was hearing footsteps behind me and I turned my whole body around to see what it was. I saw it was just a rabbit and embarrassment hit me.
"No need to fear,
we are now here" Zecora said.
I looked in front of me and saw her hut. Zecora walked in first and I followed behind her looking at the place. It looked the same as when I was here before. A large cauldron stood in the middle of the room and she had shelves that held a lot of bottles. There were a lot of candles that lit up the room. The walls were decorated with some mask which freaked me out a little, but I tried acting nice. The air reeked of different toxins that she was using for whatever she was making before.
"Where do I sleep?" I asked.
She was pointing to a door near her room. I walked to the door, turned the knob and stepped inside. The bedroom was big enough for me to be in. There was a window across the room that showed a long path and leading somewhere. There was a bed to my left and a closet to my right. I was checking the closet and found somebodies clothes in there. They couldn't have been hers for she is not the type to wear anything, but rings. I unpacked the stuff that I had in my suitcase and sat down on the bed. I still didn't know what I thought of her. Her house was fine and didn't reek of death. I was thinking may be she invited a friend over and the pony forgot his or her clothes. It was weird, but I was too tired to worry about it right now. I went under the covers and laid my head on the pillow. I was thinking about the rumors a little and was wondering to myself if I should sleep with one eye open just to be safe. I decided that I was being stupid and just went to sleep, so I could worry about this in the morning.
Tuesday
It was really early when I woke up. It was a surprise to me because I would usually try to get up in the afternoon. If I was going to do work I needed all the sleep I could get. I got up and took some gems out of the suitcase that I packed because I didn't know what type of food she had here or may be I was afraid to find out. I ate the gems for breakfast and I went out my room to see if Zecora was up. As I was walking out my room I was hearing something that made me stop in my tracks. I turned to her room and the noise sounded like crying or sobbing. I walked to her door, put my ear near the door and heard Zecora crying in her room. I was knocking on the door to see what was going on and immediately the crying and sobbing stopped.
"Zecora are you alright?" I asked.
I was hearing the bed creak and there were footsteps nearing the door. The door then opened just a crack with her face visible and her body still behind the door.
"Oh, Spike I forgot you were here,
can I help you my dear?"
"I heard you in there crying are you okay?"
"Oh it was just something personal of mine,
but I assure you I am fine"
"Okay that's good"
I could tell that something was bothering Zecora. May be the rumors are starting to get to her. Twilight said she didn't care about them. I didn't know what it was, but it was none of my business.
"Well since your already up,
I will appreciate it if you can clean my stuff."
I looked around and saw that the place was a mess. The bright light coming from the window showed off the disgusting messes in the room. There were pots and bottles that needed dusting. The cauldron was dirty from things that were leaking out of it. Different colored oozes from the cauldron covered the floor. There were spider webs in a variety places. It was early and had nothing to do so I thought I would make myself useful.
"Alright I'll get it done" I said.
"Thank you, Spike
you are very kind"
She closed the door to her room and I was left with the task of cleaning. It's a good thing I packed cleaning supplies because I had a feeling I was going to be cleaning. I had a duster, little vacuum, nice smelling spray, and a lot of wipes. I was dusting the stuff that were on the shelves and inside the empty ones to get the spider webs. I was vacuuming the mysterious oozes that covered the floor. I was wiping the giant cauldron down till it sparkled. I was too good at this job. I was trying to dust one of the masks on the wall, but it was too high for me to reach with the duster. Even for a teenage dragon it was hard to reach. I had to take the mask off the wall somehow.
I was thinking I should try knocking it off the wall and put it back on the wall later. I was looking around to see what I could use, but there was nothing. I went to see what was outside that I could use and I saw a large stick. I grabbed it and brought it inside to use to bring the mask down. I tried hitting the mask trying to be careful not to break it. I hit it three times till it finally came off and I grabbed it before it could hit the floor. Then I looked up again where it was and I saw a book was hidden behind the mask. It was taped to the wall so I thought I should may be dust that off too. I put the mask down and tried knocking the book down with the stick I had. It fell to the floor and I grabbed it to see what it was. She put it up there so no pony could reach it I thought. I don't know what she had to hide anyway. I needed to know what type of person is Zecora. The title read "Zecora's Diary".
