//------------------------------// // Chapter 00 // Story: Courage, friendship and miracles // by x-Kiryu-x //------------------------------// "No way man, the orange one looked cooler then the giant insect..." All trough ought Ponyville, the sound of night filled the air, from crickets to the gentle rustling of leaves in the breeze. But inside the golden oaks library, Spike, typed away in the computer, several plastic bags of snack and cups once filled with something to drink surrounding him. "Yeah, besides, did you see how he turned into that even cooler version with the shield on his back? It was so epic! I wish I could see it again!" He exclaimed as he said out loud what he was typing. And with a click, he had posted a reply in one of the forums he was participating in. Scrolling down trough some new posts, about how it was weird that anyone with internet saw it, to the weird beings that appeared from nowhere near the end. Until his reptilian eyes caught a particular post. "Want to see the fight? I got some files containing recording of it, just decrypt them and enjoy the show... wow, seriously?!" The young dragon exclaimed as he checked the files, running a quick virus scan before deciding to even try and check out those links. With everything checking out, he started downloading them, excited to know that he was about to watch one of the coolest things ever. "It's not fair..." Inside his dark room, Daisuke Motomiya, or Davis for those in a country like America, sat with his knees to his chest and his arms around them. The usually active boy had a depressed look on his face, dry tears formed around his eyes as he remained alone in the darkened room, with the exception of a few rays of sunlight able to squeeze trough the covers of his windows. But, he wasn't truly alone, in front of him, his digimon partner, in his baby form, Chibimon, Demiveemon for others, watched him with worry. "Daisuke..." He sadly said, seeing his human partner being so down made him feel horrible, but he had no idea on how to cheer him up. The boy slowly blinked, the goggles that usually adorned his forehead were barely dangling from his left hand, before completely falling off from his weak grasp. "I thought I did it... I thought I finally managed to get Hikari to like me... but... it turns out she likes that damn Takeru...!" Daisuke dipped as much venom as he could in his voice at the mention of the child of hope. But no matter how much anger he showed, his true emotions were shown with the tear drops forming in the corner of his eyes. The small blue and white digimon frowned as he looked at his partner, before turning around to look at a device behind him. "Daisuke, you have a lot of emails you know..." Hoping to get a response, Demiveemon only got an uncaring sigh from Daisuke. Wanting to say something else, the baby level digimon was cut off as beeps suddenly sounded from the device behind him. Turning to look at the screen, a small bead of sweat went down his small head. "Daisuke, it's from Iori, he says we need to meet up, there may be something up in the digital world!" He exclaimed. The spiky haired chosen child said nothing, his eyes covered by shadows as he got up, picking up his goggles, a gift from his senpai Taichi, and placing them over his head and then his eyes. Picking up the D-terminal on the floor and then his D-3 digivice on his desk, Davis started heading out the door, but stopped in order to bend down and pick up the scurrying Chibimon. *Cut music* "Hikari-chan, just how much sleep did you get last night...?" Inoue Miyako, also known as Yolei, asked to her friend, adjusting her glasses as they slid down her face slightly from the sudden bowing motion. The light brown and short haired girl, Yagami Hikari, also known as Kari, tiredly blinked, her eyes showing signs of some lack of sleep. "I don't know... I just... couldn't sleep well last night..." She said, a hint of sadness on her eyes. The purple aired girl raised an eyebrow. "Huh? Why not?" She asked, slightly worried about her friend. Kari was about to speak, when the door to the computer room slid open, a boy with brown hair in the style of a bowl haircut walked in with a neutral expression, behind him, a taller thin boy with short and straight dark violet hair stood with a small green digimon covered in some sort of shell surrounding it, in his hands. Miyako turned to see the newcomers and smiled. "Ken-kun, Iori, you're here!" She exclaimed. At the sound of one of the names, a small round digimon hopped from under a desk, bouncing its way towards the boy known as Hida Iori, also known as Cody Hida. Smiling, he knelt down and picked up his partner digimon. "Upamon, I'm sorry I had to leave you." He said. The digimon nuzzled his face onto his partner's chest before looking up, his ears wiggling in excitement. "That's okay Iori! I think I was too busy eating and I know you didn't want to bother me!" The other boy, Ichijōji Ken, or Ken Ichijouji, smiled. "Sorry Iori-san had to go all the way to my house to wake me up, I kinda overslept a bit, ehehe..." He nervously laughed. The digimon in his hands, Minomon, raised his tiny little stubs as he began to speak. "Yeah, no matter how hard I tried, Ken-chan wouldn't wake up! I tried bouncing on him as hard as I could!" He exclaimed. Ken chuckled as he patted his digimon partner's head lightly. "I still apreciate the effort Minomon." He said with a smile. Yolei smiled too, before frowning and looking behind them. "Where's Daisuke?" She asked. Cody reached into his pocket and pulled out his D-terminal, opening it and checking for any new messages. With a press of a button, he noticed he had indeed gotten a new message. "I sent him a message as we started walking back from Ichijōji's, and he just sent me one saying he was coming and that we should go ahead without him, says he'll catch up in a bit." Said Cody as he placed his D-terminal back into his pocket. The entire group with the exception of Kari sighed. "That Daisuke, always late, I bet he's sleeping in or playing dumb on the tv or computer!" Yolei exclaimed, slightly angry. Cody looked slightly down. "You'd think he would of gotten that habit out by now..." Ken said nothing and looked away slightly, he had nothing to add about the current topic of Daisuke's tardyness. Crossing her arms, Yolei walked up to a computer, digivice in hand. "Alright, let's just go without him, he usually never minds, but now we have conformation about it." As soon as she finished saying that, Ken walked next to her, digivice also in hand. "I heard differently about that..." He said, recalling a few times Davis said he'd get upset about being left behind. Cody had his digivice ready as well, and with their digivices ready, they were taken into the digital world by the monitor, Kari the only one left behind as she hadn't raised her digivice. Instead, she stood with a saddened frown looking at the floor. Her digimon partner Tailmon, or Gatomon, walked up to her and looked at her with a worried expression. "What's the matter Hikari?" She asked. The child of light sighed. "I..." She strated, but was caught off as she thought she heard a noise. Looking up and around the room, she blinked. Gatomon blinked at her sudden action, looking around as well, she tried finding what had caught Kari's attention, but seeing nothing, she turned back to her partner. "What is it Hikari?" The girl frowned. "I thought I heard something..." With a sigh, she raised her digivice towards the computer screen, quickly disappearing along with Gatomon. But, unbeknownst to her, she was right, she had heard a noise. Slowly peeking his head in, Davis frowned and walked in, Demiveemon hopping behind him. He grew frustrated, he had sent Cody that message as soon as he got out of his house, that he hadn't checked at what time he got it was another thing. The goggle head sighed before the features in his face turned into what looked like anger, clenching his fist, he raised it slightly. Normally, to get angry at his friends was very rare for Davis, but with a certain event having passed recently, he had enough, and reached his breaking point. He was officially pissed off. Clenching his teeth for a few seconds, he reached into his pocket and grabbed his digivice, pointing it towards the computer monitor and getting taken alongside his digimon partner into the digital world. "Spike? Spike, where are you?" Twilight called out to her assistant as she walked trough her home. The library was closed for the day and it was a lazy day as Spike would usually put it. And speaking of the dragon, Twilight had finally found him as she opened the door to their room. "Spike! There you are!" She exclaimed as she spotted her long time friend sitting in a comfy chair, his eyes concentrating on the device in front of him. The unicorn raised an eyebrow as she finally got next to him. "Have you been here all day?" She asked. The tired looking dragon nodded with a smile. "Yeah! I found something really really really awesome Twi!" He said out loud as he raised his claws and started typing rapidly into the keyboard. Twilight rolled her eyes before looking at the screen, watching several codes being introduced, the arrow moving from one window to another opening and closing others in a seemingly endless cycle. Until she decided to ask what was so 'awesome'. "Well... what is it? Because all I see is you just typing away and clicking on... windows of... what exactly are you doing?" She asked. The unicorn had a very large knowledge regarding computers, but what Spike was doing right now looked like something she had never seen before. The dragon ceased his typing and sighed, letting his body slowly slide down in the chair. "I was extracting several files and compiling them together... and I'm finally done..." He said as he closed his eyes. Twilight blinked, all of that was file decryption? It looked more like he was playing a video game with all those weird symbols. "Well... what did you accomplish by doing that?" She asked, wanting to know why the dragon had gone trough all that, maybe since he had woken up. Spike opened his eyes and smiled as he made some final adjustments with a few clicks. "Well, remember that day our computer acted up?" He said as he readied the file to open. Twilight went slightly wide eyed, how could she forget that day. "That was when those... creatures were all over the internet, fighting..." She said, remembering her and Spike watching in awe as what looked like some sort of monsters fighting against some weird insect looking monster. Smiling, Spike double clicked the readied file and a video started playing. A large sperical looking arena of some sort, with ferris wheels in the background and many other colorful imagery. Twilight's eyes slowly widened as she saw two little creatures fly towards another creature, that seemed to be eating what looked like data of some sort. "Spike... this is..." She tried saying. The dragon cut her off. "Yeah, its that fight!" He exclaimed. Looking at her assistant, she was ready to start asking him questions, when a loud guitar riff startled her. Looking back at the screen, she saw what probably fascinated her the most when she saw this those years ago. They seemed to have... evolved. Twilight watched with awe, at what was going on in her screen, taking a small gulp without noticing. "Their names... they said their names were..." She began to say, but just couldn't muster the strength to say the names of the now evolved creatures. Instead, they called out their names themselves. Both Twilight and Spike watched as the two monsters began to fight. From the large orange with blue stripe dragon looking one to the giant four armed blue insect one. Just like four years ago. "How did you even find this Spike?" She asked as she watched the three creatures fight, flying around as they tried to hit each with blast of different kinds. The child drake watched with a smile. "Last night I saw some guys posting in some forum about this, how they also watched the fight, and after a few hours, somebody posted some files saying they were compressed recordings of it!" Watching the giant dragon looking one and giant insect one finally hit the oddly shaped blue jellyfish looking one, the dragon watched with more intensity. "Oh man, this is when Greymon and Kabuterimon think they beat him!" He exclaimed. Twilight gave a puzzled look at her assistant as he said that. "You... memorized their names...?" She asked. The child dragon nodded. "Yeah, also, before they shinka'd , they were called Agumon and Tentomon!" For what seemed the hundredth time, Twilight had to blink before deciding to ask a question. "Shinka? What is that? Spike, how do you know so much about this? Just how long were you up all nigh?!" She asked that last part with slight annoyance. But before the dragon could reply, they two explosions on the screen. Paying attention back to the screen, they saw the smoke clear, revealing a now small dragon and small insect floating in mid air covered in a few scratches and bruises. "They were going to evolve again... right?" Twilight focused on the escaping one, who had seemed to evolve as well. "But, he beat them to it." Watching it seemingly laugh and escape gave her the creeps back then, and now as well. Sighing, she turned to talk to Spike. "You never told me how you know so much about them now..." The dragon chuckled. "Well, in the forum, everyone started mentioning how they spoke their names outloud before and after evolving, and well, they sounded cool so... how could I not remember?!" He exclaimed, raising both his clawed hands in the air. But, seeing the unicorn in front of him giving him an unamused look, he slowly lowered them. Frowning, he went back to the computer and clicked a few things. "Geez, I thought you'd be excited about this..." He said. Twilight then bit her lip. He was right, inside, she was really excited, these creatures, fighting in what appeared to be the internet seemed so fascinating! But, before that, she felt that she needed to know, just why every computer was able to see that fight. "Okay okay... it is very intriguing to be able to see this again... I just wished you hadn't stayed up all night." She said with a disproving frown. Spike payed no attention to it and watched as the orange dragon alongside a new one, wearing some sort of blue skin fur of some sort fly alongside him. This also caught Twilight;s attention, she remembered this part, they evolve too, but, not like before. This is when things get really serious, when unbeknownst to them, the fate of a world rested in the hands of those two creatures known as digimon.
