"Sunset Shimmer, how come you're the only one whose not dating someone?" Rarity asked one of her best friends one day.
"I'm not interested in any of the boys here. That's all it takes Rarity." Sunset Shimmer shook it off.
"But aren't you a little, uh how do I put it? Lonely?" Rarity rubbed her neck awkwardly.
Sunset shrugged, not really caring that much.
"Okay, if you say so. But don't blame me if you start getting lonely." Rarity left Sunset at her locker while she gathered things up.
But just as Sunset Shimmer was finishing up, she gets bumped into and ends up on the floor.
"What's the big idea?! Why do I always have to be the one landed on!" Sunset muttered.
"Sorry, I wasn't watching where I was going and..." the boy that had landed on top of Sunset paused his sentence.
Sunset was a little confused at the fact this boy just fell on top of her and doesn't even apologize!

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to fall on you. But did anyone ever tell you that you've got beautiful eyes?" once the boy said that, Sunset blushed.
"Who are you anyway? I'm Sunset Shimmer." Sunset introduced herself, the boy's eyes sparkled at the name.
"I'm Comet Tail, nice to meet you Sunset. I'm new here so when I bumped and fell onto you, I was trying to find my first class." Comet shook Sunset's hand which felt good in his opinion.
Comet showed her his schedule and told him his class was over in the west hall, which was where she was headed.
So, they walked to their first class of the day, just barely making it before the bell.
"You're late, Ms. Shimmer!" Mr. Donkey grumbled, Sunset quickly sat down in her seat.
Comet looked around, confused on where to sit.
"Ah, you must Mr. Tail, you'll be sitting next to Ms. Dash in the back." Mr. Donkey pointed to the back, to where a girl with a rainbow hair and blue skin was sitting.
Comet did as he was told and Mr. Donkey started the lesson. 
Despite that he should've been listening, he was doodling a pic of Sunset Shimmer. 
After 45 minutes, the bell rang releasing the class.
Sunset was gathering her stuff up as she was leaving the class and Comet ends up surprising her.
"Comet, don't startle me like that! Now, what do you need?" Sunset put her backpack on her shoulder and Comet followed.

"Oh, I was just wondering if we could hang out later?" Comet raised his eyebrow attractively.
"Um, thanks for the invite but I've got friends and they're expecting me to be around. Maybe after school?" 
Comet didn't like hearing that but wasn't giving up.
"Why don't I just sit with you and your friends? Besides, I don't know many people yet." 
"Comet, go mingle at lunch. Other then that, all my friends are GIRLS." Sunset was starting to get creeped out.
Comet and Sunset separated but heading to their different classes.

When it was lunchtime, Comet got into the lunch line.
But he didn't notice a purple girl with dark purple hair and magenta streaks.
"Omph! Ow, why does this happen to me every single time?" the girl said, noticing Comet after he bumped into her.
"Oh, sorry mah lady. I'm Comet Tail, I didn't see you as I got into the line." 
"It's alright, I'm Twilight Sparkle. One of the smartest girls at this school other then Sunset." 
When Comet heard the word 'Sunset,' his ears perked up.
"You know Sunset?! She's just amazing, beautiful, and awesome what am I talking about?" Twilight giggled at the rambling.
As the line continued on, Twilight figured it out that Comet was new but had a "connection" with one of her friends.

As they exited the line, Comet went to an empty table and sat by himself.
Meanwhile, Twilight sat down with her friends.
"Hey Twilight, what took so long?" Rainbow Dash asked her.
"Ran into someone called Comet Tail." Twilight said as she sat down, not noticing Sunset was now focused on her BFF.
"Did you just say Comet Tail?"
"Oh yeah, when we were talking, he got excited when I said your name as well." Twilight said before taking out a book.
And with that, Sunset disappeared looking for Comet.

And while she was, Bulk Biceps, one of the biggest athletes in the school, came up to her.
"Hey Sunset, you, me: and Sugar Cube Corners at 5:00?" the manly figure asked her.
"For the last time Bulk, I'm not going out with you. One: I barely know you and two: you're not my type." 
"Then what is your type, Sunny? You're a real attractive girl you know." Comet Tail said from behind her.
"Oh, hi Comet. I was just looking for you. Comet, this is Bulk Biceps. Bulk, this is Comet Tail." Sunset said nervously.
"Pleasure." Comet held his hand out but Bulk just stared at it like he was crazy.
"I'm good, but Sunny, just remember to consider it." Bulk walked away, leaving the duo.

For a couple minutes, Comet and Sunset stood there quite awkwardly.
"Man, this is getting so awkward. Why does this always happen?" Sunset muttered to herself, Comet not hearing.
"Why were you looking for me? I mean, I'm not really the most interesting boy at this school."
"Er, my friend told me you were sitting here by yourself so I thought...." Comet put his finger to her mouth.
"Don't ruin the moment." Comet started leaning in to kiss her but Sunset put her hand on it.
"Um, Comet? We just barely met a couple of hours ago. And plus, there are much more attractive girls at Canterlot High." 

And with that, Comet's relationship with Sunset Shimmer was off to an itchy start.
