POV: Big Mac / Location: Equus - Everfree Forest - Earlier Above the Hive
After Twilight and her Brother jumped out, I turn to Fluttershy. "You ready, Shy?" I ask her. She gulps but nodded her head. "It'll be alright. Ah'll keep anythin' from harmin' ya," I tell her.
"Thank you," she replies nervously.
"Let's get going then. The sooner we get done, the sooner Karn can set that bomb off," I say and jump out the ship. I land on the ground with a heavy thud and crack the dry dirt beneath me, leavin' a small crater.
Fluttershy shrinks down and gently flies down and regrows as she lands beside me. With a nod to each other, we make our way inside.
Changeling bodies lay on the ground around us and Fluttershy gasps at the sight. We come across multiple tunnels and our marker is pointing towards the farthest right.
We trot through the tunnel as gunfire echoes around us. "Ya alright, Shy?" I ask her.
She squeaks a bit. "Y-Yes. I'm fine, Big Mac..." she replies. Her Wyrm sentinel and her strange metal butterflies floating around her. Some viscous growling gets our attention as an infested Timberwolf jumps on my back. I try to throw it off me, but it's holding on tight. "Hold on, Big Mac!" shy says and she whacks the Timberwolf off me with her Bo Staff.
I quickly turn to the Timberwolf and stomp on its head. "Thanks," I tell her.
She doesn't reply but nodded rather quickly. We continue to head down the tunnel and a few more infested attack us. I hold up my Kohmak and start firing shells into them. Shy's butterflies then dash forward and start cutting up those I'm not aiming at and her sentinel starts firing off its laser as well. My Djinn sentinel is also firing off its stingers and making the infested focus more on me.
A Changeling infested tackles me into the wall and I punch it in the head hard with a rock covered hand. Its head rips off its body with a nasty squelch. I can hear Fluttershy trying not to gag or whimper.
Her Sentinel instantly turns around and start firing behind her. She yelps in surprise as some infested try to ambush her. I don't know the science stuff behind Karn's technology. But these equipment and weapons of his are downright terrifying. I'm glad he landed in Equestria and not in some other land... There'll be no chance of us standing against him if they got him to attack us, though with his rules and laws, I very much doubt that.
There's now twenty infested in front of me, so I gather the energy in my frame like Karn taught us and create a rock wall in front of me. I then command it to reform into a boulder and I push it hard down the tunnel where it slams into the infested hard, crushing many of them beneath it before it shatters into pieces sending pieces of rock everywhere.
POV: Fluttershy / Location: Equus - Everfree Forest - Inside the Hive
This is terrible. All these animals are in pain and suffering, I've felt a bit of the pain they're going through right now when I was infected... I frown and raise my Bo Staff and bring it down on the head of a poor infested fox. 'Remember what Karn told you. You're not killing them, you're saving them from their misery,' I tell myself over and over.
I swing my staff around, but stop when I recognise the bear in front of me... "Harry?" I ask with a whimper.
His face and muzzle are bloated, his claws are longer and sharper, and his eyes look like he's in agony. I feel tears flow down my real face seeing the condition of my friend.
He gurgles a roar at me and swings one of his claws. I use my built in Archwings to shrink and fly above the strike as my butterflies and sentinel start attacking him. I start sobbing as the lasers and the little metal wings tear away at his fur and muscle until he lies motionless. 'Oh Harry... I'm so sorry!' I think to myself and turn to look down the tunnel, anger welling inside me. 'I promise you. I'll make this mean virus pay for hurting you and our friends!'
POV: Big Mac / Location: Equus - Everfree Forest - Inside the Hive
I'm startled as ah hear Fluttershy scream out in anger and start shooting the infested down the tunnel with those two tiny long pistols she pulled out from her wings.
I shake my head and pull out my Scindo Axe and cleave the infested on our way down. Fluttershy and I make our way to a small room with a pulsing sac on the far wall, the red marker pointin' right at it.
"Fluttershy, can you get yer little butterflies and sentinel to destroy the Cluster. Ah'll keep an eye out for any more infested," I tell her.
"Okay," she says with anger and her butterflies start to slash and her sentinel opens fire on the sac. The outer layer starts to burn and after a few more seconds, it bursts. Fluttershy yelps and hovers in the air to avoid the flow of rancid fluids spilling over the floor. The Hive seems to shake after the sac was destroyed.
"Karn, we've taken out the Cluster. We're headin' back to the surface," I tell him through the comms.
"Good job! Rainbow watch out! Oof!.." Karn says and gunfire sounds out. "We're almost at the drop off point," he replies and grunts as the sound of flesh being ripped is heard. "Wait at the entrance and help the others if they need it," he tells us.
"Eeyup," I reply.
I stop for a second thinking we forgot something... Probably just my imagination.
Both Fluttershy and I head back the way we came and wait at the entrance of the cave.
