The year is 2017, humanity is at war with an alien race far superior in weapon technology then we are.
We go to the fight for Russia, aliens are winning, but this is the battle we win for once. This battle is from the point of view of a young teenager, about the age of 16. Oh the aliens killed off so many soldiers that they had to start a draft for anyone 15 or older to join.
The battlefield is right outside Moscow, aliens are fighting us to get into the city. They made a big base, the US and the Russians are both fighting the aliens. Bodies laid all over the ground, most of them young men and women, the sound of gun fire echo's through the battlefield, the screams of those in pain are heard by all.
pov Private Axis:
"WAKE UP PRIVATE AND GET OUT THERE NOW!" He woke up, he passed out from the shock of battle.
"Yes sir sorry sir!" He shouted, he jumped to his feet and picked up his gun, it was an mk15 assault riffle, fully automatic.
Axis jumped over the sandbags and started to fire at a lone alien, it looked like a big red ball with a hole on the top that shot alien missiles which liquify any living material in the blast range.
He fired three shots killing it, he looked up and saw one of the missiles coming right on his position, he shouted, "MISSILE!" And ducked to the nearest rock, it barely missed him and with his shout three other soldiers got out of the way.
He looked from the side of the rock for any aliens, there was one, a field captain, strangely it looked like a human with scales and pink skin, he grabbed his only grenade and pulled the pin. He waited a second and threw it at the alien, it didn't even see the grenade until pow. One explosion later it was just a blood splatter.
Axis was about to charge the group of spitters until he heard, " HELP! MY LEGS ARE GONE, HELP!" He ran towards the down marine, she had blood stained on her face, her legs were gone.
"Hey! I am going to get you to the medic tent! Grab my back!" She grabbed his back and he was pigging her back to the med tent.
Until one of the soldiers shouted, "ALIEN JET, DUCK FOR COVER!" Axis looked and there one was, it was to fast to id, but he did drop to the ground. He heard the bullets hit the ground next to him and coming towards him.
One second of ducking he heard the ship fly away to re arm, he asked, "you okay!?" He heard nothing so he looked at her, turns out that she took all the bullets and died on his back, Axis swung her off and crawled to the nearest sandbag cover, he was now panicking.
"BADA*S INCOMING!" He looked and an alien that is similar to a xenomorph from alien, except it's head was a block and it held a big gun.
It pointed it at Axis, "oh s**t!" It fired.
Rainbow Dash's bed:
Axis sat up, he was covered in sweat and was hyper ventilating, he was about 20 to 21. "Axis! What did you dream?!" Shouted his wife Rainbow Dash.
He breathed in and out, "i-i-it was just an old war memory," said Axis.
"That must of been horrible from how much I was trying to wake you." He looked at her.
"Wait you tried to wake me?" She nodded at him, "damn, I think I need some advile and some warm milk, sorry to worry you honey." Said Axis.
"I am just glad you are alright, you had me scared."
He got up and slipped on his prosthetic feet, you see he lost them when he was fighting the aliens. He walked down the stairs.
After some meds and milk he laid back down with her, "good night Dashy,"
"good night Ax."
8 am:
Rainbow Dash was flying down the stairs to the kitchen while Axis was eating a piece of toast and drinking a cup of coffee. She landed on the cloud floor, "how'd you sleep last night Dashy?"
She looked at him and replied, "good, I just wish I could get a few more hours of sleep," Axis chuckled and looked at his watch.
"Oh crap! I am going to be late for work, love you got to get out now!"
He ran to the door and was barely able to kiss Rainbow, "I hope he realizes that his watch is an hour late," said Rainbow.
One second later she saw him walk through the door with a face of pure embarrassment.
9 am:
Axis was in front of the Apple family farm, he is an accountant for them, though sometimes he help the family with labor, it is how he stays fit after he left the military.
Anyway he walked to a small shack, it's not very big, though it is bigger then most people's first apartments. He placed his thumb on the scanner, after a second of scanning the door unlocked and he entered.
The room looked great, the wallpaper was strips of red and green, there was a small sofa to the right of the room, in the back middle there was a nice solid oak desk, it had three monitors on it along with assorted papers and Pokemon figures littered his desk. The floor was carpeted red, there was one window over his desk, it had apple drapes on it.
He took a seat in his Fluttershy approved chair of cloth, it had arm rests and it was also red, though a very dark red.
As he turned on his monitors he looked in his drawer, all that was in it was a SIG Saucer P229 MK25 service pistol (that is a real gun look it up). He picked up the gun and examined it, after a second he put it back and closed the drawer, just then Applejack walked in and asked.
"Hey pardner, anything we need ta know?"
He handed her a binder of paper, "there is no real change in the balance of the budget, we are even above average!"
She looked at him and replied, "really? That is very good ta hear, keep up the good work," he nodded and started to type until she asked.
"Is everything alright with you?" He replied.
"Of course, why?"
She fiddled with her hat, "Rainbow told me you have been having trouble sleeping, something about nightmares, care to enlighten me?"
He leaned back and groaned, "Applejack, I am alright, I have just been having old war dreams, god that was the worst time in my entire life." She was starting to get curios.
"What happened sugar cube?"
He sat up and replied, "well, have you ever carried someone dying to a medic tent and have them die on your back from bullets that should of killed you, or lost your hoofs and bled for half an hour with barely any help. Or even saw all of your friends die in front of your eyes?!"
She shock her head no. "Then you can't understand what me AND all ex marines from the battle of Russia, also known as the bloodiest battle in human history, have been through. I hate to talk about my service, not even Dashy knows a lot about it and I married her, can we please drop the subject and let me get back to work?"
She nodded and left.
4 pm:
Axis was walking with Applejack to Twilight's castle for dinner, Rainbow Dash was going to meet him there, Applejack was worried about what happened that morning. It was about to become dusk, they were on the path to the castle.
Applejack asked him, "pardner, ya alright from what happened this morning?" He looked at her and replied.
"Of course I am, I was just needing some coffee, I am alright now and I am a lot less touchy about my past, though I still don't want to talk about it I am okay to answer a question about it from time to time, you just put a lot on me at the worst time. We are all good."
She smiled as they reached the castle door. He opened the door and they walked in.
After a minute or two of walking through the castle Applejack and Axis opened the door to the dining room, there were the rest of the mane 6 along with Shining Armor, Princess Cadence, and Starlight Glimmer. Rainbow Dash flew to him, he gave her a peck on the cheek and walked to his seat, he was next to Pinkie Pie and Rainbow.
Twilight started the conversation, "now that we are all here I would like to welcome Shining and Cadence to Ponyville, oh where is my little niece?"
(it's going to be a girl I just know it!)
Cadence replied, "thank you Twilight, we are very glad to be here, and we decided to take a small vacation just for us."
Shining asked, "so how are you all doing?"
They all pretty much said that they were having a good day. But Rainbow Dash said, "actually I am very tired," Cadence looked at her and asked.
"Why?"
She looked at Axis who was blushing a bit, "he keeps having dreams about his past and it wakes me up, I don't mind. Even though I wish he would tell me about it." She said smiling.
"wait, what kind of dreams are they?"
Asked Cadence, Shining bumped her side and tried to whisper, though everypony could still hear, "human soldiers don't like to talk about their pasts, remember reading about the aliens that attacked them?"
Cadence realized what she asked, Axis replied, "it is true, we humans don't like to talk about the war of Earth. Especially the attack in Russia, hell! That is where I lost my feet!" Shining and Cadence looked at him, Shining asked.
"Wait you have fake feet?" He put his right foot on the table and pulled it off, Shining and Cadence were surprised by that.
"That is pretty cool," said Cadence, Axis sat straight up.
"You think it's cool to not ever feel your feet again, or in you case hoofs? It's not, I gave them up for humanity before joining the walker program. I hate these feet and I dream about being able to run again, or even getting up without help from Rainbow.
As much as I like Dashy's help, I feel weak, trust me it's not fun nor would you want any kind of prosthetic, ask my brother," said Axis.
They all looked him, Rainbow laid her head on his shoulder, Rarity said.
"Darling we had no idea it was that bad, we're sorry for bringing it up." Axis smiled and replied.
"Thanks, it was just a really bad and painful time in my life, now, what else are we going to talk about?"
6 pm:
Rainbow Dash was flying with Axis towards their cloud home, it was getting pretty dark, though there was just a enough light for the lamps to stay off, he was walking very slowly because of hi-, "don't you say it you b***h!" Oh, sorry Pinkie, anyway.
They were almost to the house, Rainbow was feeling a little bit sad for him, she did just find out how weak he feels and she really wants to help him.
Axis is still on edge, though as long as she doesn't ask they won't argu-" so what exactly do you wake up from, I mean which battle?"
Really Rainbow?! Really?
"You know I hate to talk about it. I will talk when it hurts less, or when I don't wake up every night from it."
Said Axis, Rainbow dipped her head a little bit, "I have to know what happened, I have been married to him for a year now, if he won't talk then I need to find a way. Wait he dreams the battles every night, I could get Luna to allow me and my friends into the dream, that could work. Though I need to ditch him for a little bit, I know what to do!"
Thought Rainbow Dash, she grabbed his face and kissed him on the mouth. As any man would he grabbed her and pulled her to his chest and continued to make out not asking any questions.
