//------------------------------// // Chapter 2 // Story: They're a little quirky, but overall nice // by Questionable Brony //------------------------------// Rainbow Dash jumped, when she heard a door creaking. It came from the opposite side of the room. Summoning all of her courage, she made her way towards where the sound came from, while at the same time keeping an eye on the other two animatronics. Man, she was just glad that the fox thing was out of order. At the end, she found herself in front of an half open door, which had a sign hanging on it: Employees only. Curious, Rainbow Dash pushed the door open, silently cursing, as it creaked at the motion. She needed to clasp her mouth shut, when an animatronic head came into her vision. In the dim light, she could also see some kind of robot lying on the table. It must have been one of those endo-things. Wait, didn't the guy said something about the robots putting those endos into costumes, when they see one? Maybe it's just- Before Rainbow Dash could finish her train of thought, a purple hand grabbed the leg of the robot and pulled it from the table, making a loud *CLANG* sound. Curiously and a little shaky, that much Rainbow will admit, she peaked out of the corner and into the room. What she found was the bunny robot, which had been missing and it was stuffing the thing rather forcefully into the suit. Shit! Rainbow decided not to push her luck and ran down the hallway, towards the exit. It was locked. "Damn it!" Rainbow kicked a few times against the door, but it didn't budge. She was just about to give it another try, when she suddenly heard something being thrown down. Rainbow Dash spun around and found someone or rather something walking down the hall. In the flickering light, she could make out the silhouette of the bunny. "Damn!" the girl frantically looked around and found an office next to her. There was another door at the end, which lead to another hallway. Not wasting any time, the athlete ran that way and then turned left. On her way through, she noticed something saying "Security". "I bet the guy quit already." she muttered under her breath. Rainbow Dash opened the door and slammed it shut. She found herself in a dark room, where something was humming for some reason. After finally finding the light switch, the high school girl found out what was up. She was in the kitchen of the place and the humming came from the freezer and the refrigerator. Maybe I should make myself some coffee. I'm gonna need the caffeine. What's up with this place anyway? Urrgh, I bet the dumb manager locked the place, so those creepy ass robots don't escape this place. Hmm...no one's following me. she looked out of the window. Maybe they got an energy drink here. No wait, this is a place for kids. Guess coke might as well do the the trick. Rainbow Dash made her way around the stoves towards the refrigirator and opened it. To her displeasure that was not the place where they had their drinks stored. Frowning, she shut the door and was about to think of her next step, when she found a golden suit lying on the ground. "AHH!" she jumped backwards, grabbing a kitchen knive that just happened to lay around. "What the hell?!" It took her a moment to realize that the suit wasn't moving. However, she continued to point her knive at the suit for five more minutes, before slowly making her way towards it. Carefully and with a trembling hand, she reached out for the head and pushed it slightly upwards. Almost immediately she jumped backwards. The head wiggled a little, but somehow didn't fall. "Oh, it's empty." Rainbow breathed a sigh of relief. "What's it doing here though? Eh, doesn't matter. Maybe I can hide here somewhere?" "Hehehehehehehe...." The sudden sound of a child giggling, caught Rainbow's attention. She looked back to the empty golden suit. Did it just...? No way. I'm losing it at this rate. The girl wasn't so sure anymore if it was a good idea to hide in the kitchen. While she debated with herself, whether to stay or to go, the door on the other side of the room opened with a *creak*. "Uuuuuuhhhhh...." It sounded like someone was holding on to their last breaths, when the chicken entered the room. It immediately spotted Rainbow Dash and raised its arms, like you see in the old zombie movies. "Oh, come on! You can open doors!" Rainbow didn't waste any time and ran down the hallway. And since when do chicken have teeth?! she thought frantically, while entering the guard's office once again. In her panic she had forgotten about the purple bunny, but luckily the thing wasn't there anymore. The girl then quickly realized that she was basically trapped. Oh sure, the exit was just a few steps away, but the door was still locked. She might be able to break the thing open eventually, but she was not going to try her luck. But staying at the office wouldn't do her any good either! Even if there were doors, those robots were smart enough to open them! "Damn it!" the high school girl exclaimed, punching the wall. In her rage, she accidentally hit one of the two buttons, causing a steel door to drop down in front of her. "What the fuck?!" Rainbow knocked at the door. Yup, that was some fine steel right there. "Uhhhhhh......." Rainbow spun around, but couldn't find anything in the dark hallway. She noticed two more buttons on the other side and pushed the upper one. Lights began to flicker and the chicken robot was about to enter the office. With the reflexes of a snake, Rainbow pushed the second button, causing the door to slam shut. "Phew." the girl wiped the sweat off her face. "Haha, can't get me now stupid robots!" she shouted. Through the window she could see the chicken robot leaving the hallway, going back to the kitchen. Rainbow made it herself comfortable in the chair and put her feet on the desk. She thought that taking a nap sounded like a good idea, when she noticed one of the monitors. It read: Power left 85% Power usage: [Two green blocks and a yellow one] "Oh, fuck me, anal." In the meantime, Sunset Shimmer was hiding in her boss' office. The room could only be accessed by a door behind the show stage and wasn't shown on the camera map. Incidentally it also wasn't installed into the animatronics' internal maps, meaning for her friends that they could see her, but couldn't enter the office. They're bodies would just stop and turn around. "It's a woman?" Sunset asked, looking at the drawing Bonny made. It was only a stickman, but with some features only female humans had. "So much for statistics..." the girl muttered, looking at the second drawing. "So, she's discovered the office and closed the doors, huh? Well, chances are she already discovered the camera system." Sunset put a hand under her chin, thinking. "It's still a couple of hours until 6. Unless she discovers that this building has limited power at night, we'll be able to flush her out really fast. But I think we can stress her out even more." Bonny titled his head, as if asking: "What do you mean?" "Alright Bonny. I need you to give Foxy the signal. Then you need to come back and hit me." The bunny suited animatronic stared at Sunset aghast. The girl didn't even know the animatronics could pull of that face. Rainbow Dash actually did not discover the camera system. Instead, she peaked into the hallways and every so often would use one of the lights. So far she had been lucky. None of the robots was coming after her, but instead of decreasing, it just increased her anxiety. If at least one of them was with her, she wouldn't be asking herself constantly where the hell the robots were right now. After checking the right hallway for what seemed to be the one hundreth time, the girl slumped back into the chair, hoping that this was all just a stupid nightmare and that she would soon wake up, probably noticing that she had fallen asleep next to the fox thing. "Stupid be. I should have taken Gilda with me. At least she could check the other hallway." Getting up again, Rainbow Dash went back to her routine of first checking the left and then the right hallway. Since she didn't see anything coming from the left one, she went to the right, even using the light switch. Too late she could hear the sounds of rapid, heavy footsteps coming from the left hall. By the time she turned around, the fox was already inside the office, screaming. "AHHHHHHHH!" "Gah!" This time the athlete didn't react quick enough and the fox managed to get a grip on her wrist. "Ow! Let! Go! You! Stupid! Robot!" With each word, she gave the pirate fox a kick in the stomach. The only thing that happened however was the sound of her boots hitting metal. The fox didn't seem to be fazed in the least. Instead of reacting in any way, it started pulling the girl through the hallway, back towards the main area of the restaurant. Rainbow struggled as much as she could, which only resulted in hurting her wrist against the metal hand of the robot. One time, she managed to throw a small, wooden crate against her "kidnapper". She hit the back of its head and the mask fell off. However, showing some skill, the fox used his hook to pick up the mask and put it back onto its head. When they arrived at the main area, Rainbow saw that three out of the four robots were there. The bear thing had come down the stage and was standing next to a open bunny suit. Even in the dimn light, Rainbow could see all the crossbeams and wires inside the suit. "Oh fuck, oh fuck, oh-" "Gah!" "Huh?" The sudden exclamation hadn't come from Rainbow, but rather from behind the stage. When the rainbow hair colored girl looked, she saw the missing bunny and it was crarrying someone in its arms! There wasn't much to see, the face was covered by a purple jacket. But there were clearly bloodstains on the purple jacket, from where the forehead was covered! Then something fell out of the pocket of the jacket. It was a golden badge. The security guard?! Where the hell has he been?! Oh god-fuck, they're bringing him to the spare parts room! I bet they have another suit ready for him! Shit, I need to get away, somehow! "Let me go you jerks!" Rainbow shouted so loud, her voice could be heard through the entire building.
