//------------------------------// // The voice of a broken Sonata // Story: Everyone deserves a second chance, Even sirens // by AngelDCS //------------------------------// It was fall. The green yellow leaves were turning into a light orange color as giving the message that winter was getting near every second that passed. A refreshing cold breeze washed away the leaves making them fall on the gray squared sidewalk. A tall light orange and blue spiky hair guy walked, observing the scenery. He wasn't using rocker clothes or having his guitar case on his hands like he did everyday at Canterlot High. Instead he was using a black hoodie, baggy dark gray pants and white sport shoes that had a black line in the side. He sighs, putting his hands on the pockets of his hoodie. "Thank goodness all that chaos is over. If things kept being like that i would have turned insane." He laughs. "If I tell my family what happened, they would have me send to a mental hospital." Then he stops and looks down. "If they were around that is." He kept walking until he arrived at the city. It was early in the afternoon (about 1:00 p.m or 2:00 p.m), A lot of shops and restaurants were opening or getting ready for the dinner time rush. Some of the owners recognized him, He was a bit embarrassed since he wasn't exactly sure who they were, but waved back as a sign of 'hello'. After some minutes some minutes, He decided to lay against the wall of one of the shops. His mind rewinding everything that has occurred these last few months.. His break up with Sunset ( which he preferred not to think about and suppressed the memory) . Then the fall formal, which he was happy he could help clear up Twilight's name ( though now that he thought about it the Fall Formal Twilight was nice and rather sociable then...Why did she not recognized him when he talked to her? . It was strange...Really strange . Also ... What happened to the Daz..... "Hey Rocker guy...!" He snapped out of his thoughts and shook his head. His eyes meet a raspberry colored eyes that reflected light perfectly..Wait.. "Y-You are.." the blue haired guy says, pointing at her ...Scared?...Nervous..? More like shocked. "Don't you remember me?" She says and grabs her light blue hair with dark blue highlight combed in a ponytail playing with it with her pale white-blue fingers. "Because I think you know me already after the whole-" Her voice lowers "Scene we made a two months ago.. You are Flash Sentry, right? The guy that was Twing...Twi...Twig-" She says trying to remember or pronounce the name that made her angry but at the same time sad. "Twilight." He said crossing his arms around his chest . "Yeah that girl!.." She says smiling. " So i was thinking we could talk or go somewhere to.. Um how do you say it?.. kitch up? .. Cat up-" She says putting her index finger on her chin trying to figure out the phrase. Flash suspecting that his encounter with the girl would bring him problems he wanted desperately avoid, He starts to walk away. Is not that he likes to ignore anyone, the thing was that he wasn't in the mood for another 'magical fiasco ' and getting dragged along wasn't appealing to him so instead of saying things that might offend her, He goes away. "Hey,Wait up !" She says running after him. He walks faster. No no please leave me alone...Wait if I run away she might stop following me and I'll have some peace and relaxation.. He thought and ran away while the girl keep calling out for him. Yes! I made it .. T-Took me a while but I think I lost her Flash was sweating after running for almost two hours. He arrived at a green hill, surrounded by small garden of flowers and small, crystal clear water pond. He climbs to the hill and sits on the top, resting his head on the tree's trunk. His eyes were starting to close and his mind starting to give up to the fight with Morpheus. Im to tired to go home.. Sleeping here seems too good to let it pass ... Also my parents aren't home so I don't have to worry about getting grounded .. Actually i can stay out of home for a year and they would never notice .. he thought recalling that every time he came back from school, his house was empty and dark like a haunted mansion that appears in every Fright movie. Then he looked up at the sky. The colors of orange and purple were dressing up the sky making way for the night to take over as well as the sun was setting down every minute that passed. He smiled and let sleep take over him. He would go home when he felt fully recovered. After what it seemed like an hour he woke up. He yawned stretching his arms, starting to feel a weight on his chest. Scratching his eyes he looked down, only to find the blue haired girl sleeping soundly resting her head on his chest. Heat filled his face. W-WHAT?! B-But how ?.. He thought as he began to panic every second by looking at her. The girl started to wake up blinking once or twice. "Ummh?" Her eyes still being sightly shut. She opens them completely. "Oh you woke up . I couldn't find you anywhere so I kept searching, and I kinda got lost and ended up here.. The city is really big, no wonder people call it the big city." She said smiling carefree. Flash couldn't help wanting to laugh. She was way too adorable, like a little girl. "And I founded you here asleep. I felt tired so I sat down next to you, waiting for when you woke up but I-" She scratches the back of her head. "I fell asleep.. So much for waiting huh?" She said chuckling, her cheeks turning red. Flash looked at her crossed his arms. "Sonata Dusk right?" He said, she nodded. "I have a question." "Sure ask away." She said, lying on the grass while looking at the starry night sky. He raised an eyebrow. "Why were you following me?.. As long as I know I don't have any 'magical' powers, so it can't be for revenge." Sonata sat down and waved her hands denying. "N-Not at all, I didn't came to take revenge but-" She looks down and sighs. "I.. want to be friends with you." Flash titles his head to the left confused. "E-Eh?.. You chased me for almost a whole day, just to ask me to be your friend?" He said not believing what he was just hearing. It didn't made any sense. "Mhmm. " She said and crossed her arms around her legs. "I never wanted to be the bad guy but-" She looks down. "The necklace I had, Aria and Adagio made me do what I did.. I-" Her eyes began to water. "Felt trapped.. I though they were my friends, but they kept calling me dumb, and an airhead, and after the battle of the bands.. When we came back home they started to argue and almost fight.. I tried to make them stop but... They told me it was my fault for not singing louder, or that my voice wasn't so impressive compared to them, and that is my fault were trapped here and can't go back home.." Flash looked at her, feeling like a jerk for ignoring her earlier. This girl.. Sonata.. went through a lot, and she needed support and all he did was run away from her like she had cooties. He felt like punching himself. "So you ran away from home?" He asked and she nodded slowly. "And I went to the city asking everyone to be my friend, but all I got was insults and dead glares." She glanced toward the sky. "Then when I saw you I remembered that some girls were saying that you were a really nice guy and you forgave Sunset for everything that happened, like everyone else did." Tears fall from her raspberry eyes. "If everyone gave Sunset a second chance after what she did-" She burrows her face on her hands. "Why can't I have a second chance? Or am I too stupid that everyone thinks i'm a lost cause and-" She says her voice shaking, and her whole body trembling. Flash looked at her not knowing what to do so.. He hugged her, putting his arms on her back. "There, there-" He said, trying to comfort her while she cried on his hoodie. "Umm-" He was nervous. He has never being in this kind of situation. What can I do? I'm terrible at handling people that are crying.. He thought, and though while Sonata sobbed and cried a waterfall. Then he got an idea.. This could end wrong, but he didn't know what else he could do. "I-I could be your friend." He said nervously. She looked directly at his eyes, her eyes puffy. "F-For realsies?" She said, her voice calming down. He was sure he would regret this later. "Yeah.. I don't see the harm. Also-" He smiled and patted her head. "Everyone deserves a second chance right?" He said, smiling brightly. Sonata stared at him for what it seemed like an eternity. Okay I totally messed up.. his thoughts were interrupted by the glomp hug of Sonata, which he barely was able to keep still so he wouldn't fall. "Oh.. thankyouthankyouthankyou!" she said, hugging him tightly almost making Flash died of being chocked to dead. She realize it and lowered her grip. "Oh sorry." She said blushing. Flash got up and offered his hand to Sonata to help her get up, she accepted by holding his hand. "Well since you ran away from home, we'll need to get you somewhere you can stay. My friend Wild Fire could help you since she owns a student dorm near by, since she is older than us she doesn't know what happened at school so you'll be safe there." He said putting his hand on his chin. She looked at him. "Really, you would do that for me?" She said, her eyes glowing. He nod. "Of course. I can't let one of my friends sleep on the street, not if I can help it." He said determinated, punching his chest like he was doing a chivalry promise . She laughs. "Your silly you know?" Then she walks beside him. He puts his arm around her shoulder. "I'm not silly. I'm a knight, and knights help everyone who needs." He says, faking a bad medieval accent. Sonata laughs. "No wonder Sunset took advantage of you easily." He blushes. "What is that supposed to mean?" He said pouting. They both stared at each other pouting angry. After a minute they bursted out laughing. Maybe I won't regret this after all. He thought, looking at the sky. "Race you back to the city!" She said as she started to run away. "Wait. weren't you lost?" He looks concerned but then smirks. "Oh, Is on!" He said running after her. The moon was illuminating the way back to these two teenagers, indicating that the future might be brighter than what they could imagine.
