//------------------------------// // War of the Horses // Story: A Game of Hoof and House // by CrimsonEquine //------------------------------// From the eye of the beholder, one could see the power display before her. Ketchup and mustard bottles littered across the floor and Princess Luna sitting so motionless. So precariously still, waiting for that certain assailant to come in and meet her demise. It was a simple plan, as soon as she entered to her room she would step on the many bottles and be covered in ketchup and mustard sauce with ease. A booby trap with the most deviousness that would surely get her sister to do the taxes. Luna had no intention to do long, over bloated work for herself. This time, it will not be her. Every year they would do this little foray of combat. It would always lead to different losses and victories to both parties. In the end of each little tussle, one could see the creativity they both possessed. Knowing this was the perfect way of defeating her sister, there was no way Luna could lose this time. Too bad for Celestia, it was going to be a complete win out. Luna lifted her head up and gave a hearty chuckle; her plan could not be compromised. It was literally too perfect. She smiled to herself at her cleverness, making sure to not move a muscle or her own trap will destroy any chance of her success. Sitting in a circle that would safely keep her away. It was only a matter of time before the poor Celestia would be finally defeated. Then, from out of the blue, the door to her room screeched open and something was thrown straight at her. It seemed to be a mass of condiments tied to a lit-up fireworks, ready to explode. Luna stood up with a quick twitch and leaped out the window with a 360 degree barrel roll. The glass shattered with her force and she was safe from the explosion of sauce that covered her entire room. Luna couldn't believe at what happened. She almost lost to Celestia's brilliant bomb attack. Nothing could have prepared her of such quick thinking. Such a creative blast could only mean that her sister was in her "A game" tonight. It was only going to get worse from here, probably. Though, it wasn't like Luna wasn't out of ideas either. She just needed to survive all of her sisters tricks and wear her down. Although, maybe it was the fact that her idea was defeated that made Luna think this. Now she wasn't sure if things were gonna work out for her. Princess Luna flew high into the sky, away from the threat of Celestia's condiment assault. She took a deep breath at how close she was too a loss. Then, she noticed a figure flying fast at her direction. A white body came in like a blur, Luna dodged out of the way before seeing a stream of yellow and red coming at her. The Princess took out two ketchup bottles out of thin air and raised her horn to fire a squeezed out blast that was enhanced with her magical power. It collided with the stream that Celestia created, causing an explosion of flavor that made them both fall aback. The condiments covered the trees, garden, and some of the Canterlot Guard who were pleasantly annoyed by this. Still standing guard to the Castle, even if covered completely. One even tried to wipe the sauce off of him with a napkin, only to see that the napkin itself was stained completely. Princess Luna always knew the Canterlot Guard were ready for anything. She just hoped that the new recruits wouldn't be too surprised by their shenanigans. Hopefully, she wouldn't have to deal with disgruntled soldiers tomorrow. Other than that, she just remembered she was in a condiment battle. Luna opened her eyes, the force was so powerful that she couldn't notice Celestia flying straight at her. She was grabbed by her sister to where Celestia fired a ketchup bottle at close range to her face. Princess Luna ate the sauce before it could stain her beautiful, astral mane. They flew to the ground, Celestia leading her sister to a pool of Mustard. Thinking fast, Luna raised her wings and diverted her to being on top. The other did the same, causing them both to spin out of control. The outcome to who would be covered in mustard was too incalculable. The two released each other, causing Celestia to come sailing all the way to the ground. While Luna was still high above, spiraling to gain back control. "I hath the high ground, sister! You can not defeat me!" she yelled. Celestia flew high up and was met with a stream of ketchup. To which she deftly evaded with superfluous speeds. Luna expected this, she knew Celestia's speed was unparalleled. But, Luna's eyes were unmatched. The stream died down before Luna raised the Ketchup bottle in the air and aimed a second before Celestia could catch up. With one ketchup blast, Luna shot Celestia with perfect precision and hit her straight in the face. The force was so great, that it sent her flying. Celestia soared to the earth and hit the ground with a thud. Luna flew down at her and watched her sister sleep in the hole she made. She readied a Ketchup bottle just in case. The fallen sister seemed out cold, but Luna needed to make sure it was over. With her over the body, suddenly, Celestia turned from the ground and fired a surprise blast of mustard. It hit Luna's face, before Celestia gave a weakened breath and sighed out cold. Luna stood still at herself that was covered in mustard and then laughed uncontrollably at the fun making she had. She dropped down to Celestia's hole and teleported some burger buns, ketchup, and mustard bottles over her, to which she squeezed and dropped it all onto her. "The fun has been Mcdoubled!"
